I am so happy that I came across Blue Maui Photographers when researching photographers for our Maui trip. Lucy and Lucky were FANTASTIC. They are very easy to get along with, and they worked well with all the adults and my five year old. My son loved them instantly, and despite waking up grouchy from a nap on the car ride to the beach, he almost instantly turned into a ham for Lucky. He had a lot of questions too, and Lucy and Lucky were very good with answering all of them. I chose Mokapu Beach for our session, and I loved it. The fallen tree, rocks with vibrant green algae, palm trees, the beautiful sand and waves all offered a great (and a wide variety) of backdrops. It was easy to find parking in the lot Lucy and Lucky direct us to, and there were not a lot of people on the beach. Lucy and Lucky offer you great photographs and a great price. We had an outstanding experience with Blue Maui Photography from beginning to end. We hired photographers to take anniversary photos on the beach where we were married. Because "our" beach was not on the list of "usual" South Maui beaches, I sent an e-mail to see if they would go to Keawakapu for an additional fee. Within 24 hours (I think it was more like 3 hours!) I had an e-mail reply. They agreed to accommodate me, and didn't even add an extra charge for the inconvenience. A few days before my photoshoot, I received an e-mail reminding me of the time and place. Because the "Form" e-mail listed their standard beaches, Lucy sent me a personal note acknowledging that we would be at the alternate beach. The weather cooperated beautifully with our shoot. The times that they suggest are perfect, because the sunlight (we did the AM shoot) is perfect, and the beaches are still mostly deserted. Lucky and Lucy were both waiting exactly where they said they would be at exactly the time that we agreed to meet. Lucky was wearing a "Blue Maui Photographers" shirt, so he wasn't hard to spot at all. Lucky and Lucy were both very warm and friendly people. I am self-conscious about the way I look (I've gained a substantial amount of weight over the years), but they made me feel really comfortable. I actually enjoyed the process. They took more pictures than I expected. I never felt like anyone was keeping track of our hour. They listened to our suggestions, but also used their expertise to get the maximum "wow" from the surroundings (ex: positioning my red dress against some green plants). The link to download our photos arrived the evening after our shoot. Although we were still on vacation and I only had my phone, I couldn't resist sneaking a peek. Wow! They are gorgeous! Lucky and Lucy not only made me feel beautiful, they made me LOOK beautiful too! The final pleasant surprise was the ease of ordering prints. Lucky said that the print order option was a convenience for clients, and that is 100% true- it would not be possible for them to be making any money off of the prints. They are cheaper than my local CVS (and probably better). I will be ordering off the site.
