Photographer had a crummy camera, took pictures in crummy lighting, took pictures by crummy settings (dead palm tree branch, slouched sitting setting, pruned bushes without greenery) and said she would edit for an hour, nothing fixed, she didn't make sure we were positioned correctly. Sorry Debbie but I was terribly disappointed. Buyer Beware: actual pictures look nothing like the nice, vibrant, well positioned pictures in their advertisements. We initially thought the complimentary portrait session from Forever Maui was going to be cheesy but the photo shoot exceed expectations! Tyson, our photographer, was incredibly nice and worked with us to get the best photos possible. We went to dinner and came back to select the photos. Tyson had a beautiful slideshow presentation prepared with the best photos from the shoot. Once again Tyson was nice and patient during the selection process. The only complaint we had was the price of the photos (additional ones beside the complimentary 8x10) being a little steep. Don't fall for the complimentary photoshoot. We were encouraged to take advantage of it by our concierge at Honua Kai Resorts. We were quite hesitant but our concierge reassured us that it would be a fun experience and if we chose not to purchase any pictures we could thank our photographer for a great time and walk away. Shoot was okay, pictures were mediocre at most. Told our photographer we only wanted one picture (simply because we felt guilty for spending time with him). He told us the minimum charge is $150 for 3 digital copies. NOT worth the money - could have taken better pictures with my phone. At this time the photographer, Marcello, took full offense and started huffing and puffing and making us feel horrible. Muttered 'unbelievable' under his breathe, as if we weren't simply taking advantage of what the company had advertised and what was recommended by our concierge. I understand his frustration, however his attitude was completely unprofessional and I would advise all friends and family to stay away. Concierge shouldn't have pushed it so hard as complimentary if that was going to be his attitude. Unfortunate that we did the shoot on our last day - left with a very sour feeling to an otherwise perfect trip. read more

We used ForeverMaui services November 2016 at the Ali. Family photos. Photographer was pleasant and patient with our group, however the quality of the photos were disappointing, examples include, several objects in the shots detracting from the picture. All the beach pictures were washed out, and close to being useless without a major overhaul with a Photoshop type process. Part of the package we purchased was an 8X10 print of our choice. ($450.00+ package) When the print arrived, the colors were terribly washed out, and two of the family members (one on each side) were cut in half, thus, a worthless print! I would consider another service. I also contacted the resort with a recommendation they need options for these types of services. The only reason for the two stars and not one is because the photographer was nice to us. read more

My husband and myself had a session with Marcello the photographer. From beginning to end there was one issue after another. We chose a sunset photo shoot. We later learned that the photographers are not allowed to go on the beach. They can shoot near the beach but not on it. $416.00 and the photographer left objects and people in my photographs. Even though he claimed to have edited them. There were a total of 48 pictures and we only agreed to the hefty fee's because we were promised the ability to enlarge them to canvas photos as large as 40 inches. The first attempt to enlarge the photos, I was told that the largest we would get would be 4 x 6. That is roughly about hand size. I was livid and called the Hyatt Residence Club Maui to complain. The manager assured me that the issue would be resolved. I later received a call from Tiffany from Maui photography apologizing for the mistake. She advised me that they would make up for it by sending me a few prints of my choice. I accepted. I got the new flash drive and once again attempt to enlarge to my canvas prints, only to be told this time that I will only be able to enlarge to 11 x 13 without any distortion. We paid 416.00 for a flash drive only. No prints developed. Now they claim that all sales are final and are unwilling to make the situation right. The hotel is claiming that they have no control over the concierge desk. However they receive a commission from the photos shoots. My advice hire an outside photographer that is not going to rip you off because they owe the hotel a commission. Most of my photos are distorted on my cellular phone. What a total waste of time and money. I could have taken more professional photos with my Samsung Galaxy S5. read more
