Had 8 passes to SplatterPark (valuing $336.00) and were planning a family trip back to Ohio to visit relatives and enjoy one of the days together playing paintball. We had received these passes during a charitable auction. The passes did not have any expiration day on them. My cousin called just before we were planning to make the trip to confirm they'd be open and to inform them about the passes. The man on the other end of the phone stated that since they didn't have an expiration date on them they were not longer any good. He was asked how that could be considering the passes were auctioned off at a charitable event in which a great deal of money was paid for them. He stated that was too bad but you can't use them. Just think about the arrogance and deceitfulness of this company. We recommend not spending any money with this park or EVER buying a gift card from them because they do not honor their word and there's a very good chance they'll just pocket the money and refuse service down the road based on a made-up policy. Came here on a Groupon, and frankly I was a little skeptical of what kind of experience we'd have. I was afraid that it would be poorly organized, we'd wait around a long time before getting onto the field of play, our equipment would stink, and we amateurs would be mixed in with a group of super-troopers who would annihilate us, and get no satisfaction in doing so. None of these things happened. I was pleasantly surprised by most aspects of this place. 1) It was well organized. We showed up, got our gear, and were out on the field in no time. They were very good at getting us to the good part. 2) They understood that people have different interest and ability levels. We were a group of 6. We started out playing by ourselves and then got mixed in with a group of OSU med students who were novices, just like us. 3) Gear was of good quality. Everything worked as it should. The fields were nice - they had a variety of different pieces of cover and points of interest (abandoned school bus, airplane wreckage, etc). 4) Staff was very nice. Our guide for the day did a good job explaining stuff while keeping us playing. Spoke to some other folks who worked here who were all also very pleasant and helpful. My only real criticism would be of the free lunch which is nothing to get excited about (nor do they pretend it is). If you wanted to hang out here all day, I would pack some food, as I was pretty hungry even after the provided lunch. This place definitely exceeded my expectations, and while we are total n00bs when it comes to paintball (and don't plan to become experts), we have already made plans to return to this facility (so mission accomplished Groupon). read more

If shooting people is what your aiming for, make your best attempt legally. I say invite your boss for an outing on you and use all those 2 cents you saved up for this little adventure. First take notes: *they're only cheap to Get you there but once u arrive everything's steep (not too steep but none the less there is a hill of which you will have to decide is it worth going the extra mile) *buddle. While adrenaline might keep u warm during the battles it can be chilly during waits inbetween. Besides, the extra layers will soften the blows of being shot at. *you will use way more balls than you think you need. You can't bring you're own. Buy in bulk and split with your group. I had a great time but I can see where ppl complain - in general as consumers we want more bang for our buck and in this case your gonna need a lot of bucks to bang anything unless your aim is like Annie Oakley. read more

went this past weekend with some buddies. had an awful experience with the employees all being very rude and disrespectful, we already left one bad review and they did not like it so it was deleted. i don't recommend going here as there are plenty of other options. Connor is an awful manager. one of us had our own gun (that wasn't even working properly) and after we were told we could play with the rental groups (other option was play against a team who travels the country for paintball) our group had experience of 5 total times paintballing. Connors words to us were "your friend with his own gun is the one ruining the fun" they also gave us the wrong guns and then tried to force us into paying for the more expensive one. The only good thing to come from the trip was meeting our ref for the day, Thomas, he was an awesome ref and even better person. read more

I'm kind of a paintball noob (gone twice in my life), but I just took my 13 year old son and 8 of his friends here yesterday and they had a ball!! The pluses: - super friendly staff, no matter what level you are - huge facility with multiple game areas - weather! Minuses - one cold hot dog does not a lunch make - once you buy more paintballs for a whole afternoon, its not that inexpensive Observations - Damn there are a lot of serious paint ballers and air soft enthusiast!! Many of them were clearly pretending they were in some elite special forces unit - which is cool for them, I guess, but kinda militia-like! Also, a lot of older players that take it a little TOO seriously, but yelling and berating teenage kids that are just there to have fun! Good place to blow off some testosterone, though!! read more

My 11 year old had been pleading for a while to try paintball...I had the conception it would be a fun activity in its own right, but the process to actually get on the field would be aggravating. Not the case. I found this place to be amply staffed, courteous and engaged -- they seemed intent that we had a good time. There was assistance available at every point, from briefings to understand the rules and the gear to getting our lunch. Communication among the staff was great. The refs separated out groups with younger players, and we got our chance on most of the maps. They were safety conscious without being overbearing. We had a great time!! It's was hot so if you go at this time of year don't layer up. Not a good idea! The mask is so uncomfortable trying to breathe and wear for a long time. But if you do not wear it you will get told you cannot play anymore. You can play with just your group which was so much fun. The staff try to explain the rules to you so fast like you are at a auction. WTH slow down but other then that we will go back when it is colder. Second time at splatter park. Way better than my precious experience. Refs were very active and very fair. Fields were nice other than being very muddy in some spots which was very expected. All the walk on players were very welcoming and helpful to the rental players which is quite a bit different than my last experience. Also it has become a huge place for airsoft. Not my thing but there were quite a few airsofters. All in all its now a real nice place. Very fun place now for the family. read more

We came today for a combined bachelor/bachelorette and had a blast. Jordan was our ref and he was A++!! We will definitely come again!

I go to splatterpark for the airsoft, but I have been a couple times for paintball too. The staff is great, they are always very helpful and since I go there often I am friends with a lot of them. The refs always make fair teams and have a huge amount of different game modes to play. There are a lot of of cool maps, but the shipping container one is My favorite! I don't like paintball because they make you buy their paint, but I have my own airsoft gear so I can use my own bbs. That is mostly the reason I like airsofting at splatterpark more, but I wish there were more than just games on the weekend. read more

zombie hunting at its WORST. You also DO NOT get all the paintballs you pay for. To go zombie hunting, you and your group are loaded into a sight-seeing trailer and the paintball guns are mounted to the side railing. You only get 100 paintballs (guess what, you can purchase 100 more before you go for $10) and THE ENTIRE TRIP IS 4 MINUTES LONG! You go 2 minutes one way, turn around, and go 2 MINUTES BACK! I'm not kidding when I say 4 MINUTES. Frankly, because it looked like a joke upon arrival, I cynically kept tabs on how long we were going to be out there. But honestly, I was hoping for the best, it was a long drive and I was with a fun group of people. Well, we departed on the trailer at 7:56pm and had returned by 8:00pm on the dot. We drove 45 minutes to this place, rode around for 4 minutes, and then because we were SO BORED, we spent some time on the firing range. We were supposed to get 100 paintballs each and I released no more than 25 rounds before needing my second supply and again, no more than 25 rounds. It was also very anti-climaxing to shoot and the paintballs wouldn't burst. read more

Took my son to Zombie hunting here with a Groupon and had a good time. The Zombie hunting was fun, but pretty short...about 15 minutes. The staff on the tram was very friendly, especially "Worm" who volunteered to take our picture. Two complaints... First off, it was a Saturday night in October, they were sold out for Zombie Hunting, there were hundreds of people there...and they only had TWO people working the registers!!!! Wha??? Come on! Second, we brought a box of 1000 paintballs that we had bought at Dicks's for $20, and were going to use them at the target range. The manager said we could not use them because they would "ruin everything". That's right...shooting paint covered trash barrels with our paintballs would "ruin" them! What a moron!!! Just be honest and tell us you want us to buy your overpriced paintballs for $10 for 100. He is lucky I was with my 10 yr old, or I would have totally given him a piece of my mind. When friends want to know about paintball they ask me. When I recommend a field Splatter Park is the first one off my lips. I have played at many fields in various states and we have a top notch park right here. With one of the largest variety of playing fields around a seasoned player as well as someone new to the sport will be entertained. Safety is primary and they do not allow unsafe players to continue to play so bring the family and have a great time. Better yet bring a small group and you can just play your friends. (Min 10 people, I think) The refs are the best you will find and their paintball experance will give you something new on each field. BTW don't leave without playing The "Battle Port" field. You may find a more specialized field but you won't find a more versatile one. Some may complain about the free lunch but in all my years of play i have never had a field even include a free bottle of water so don't let that stop you from coming. Besides you will be having so much fun you will just shove it down your throat so you can get back out there and play some more! Great price, great ref staff, and great field! read more

I bought splatter park pass and I was trying to find out before I invite my kids friends for a day out. I called and spoke with "Jay" I said I need waver faxed to me. J said it is all data entry in person. I said I can't have all 8-10 parents drive all the way to sign waver. J cut me off saying I was taking responsibilities and I should sign all wavers for all 10 kids. I said that is not true. He said that is how it is. I was annoyed, asked him to let me talk with the manager he said " I am the manager". I said can you give me corporate phone #. He said "I am at corporate". I said can I speak with the owner or another person other than you - he said " you can't". I have never experienced such a bad attitude and unhelpful staff. Hope owner replies to my email. I am sure if J finds my email he will delete it before staff can see my Angry message. read more

As my grandfather used to say this was both trips. First and last! Words cannot adequately describe how unwelcoming and unfriendly the place is. To be honest, there were three helpful people there, Kyah, Ben and Mayson. We spent nearly an hour waiting to do something, getting passed from person to person. Then, a rowdy crowd of teenagers threw paintballs at us from the lunch shelter. When I complained, the referee called the owner. The owner told me that people threw paintballs around there all the time, even though it was posted as against the rules. God knows what other safety violations occur there. I went with my two daughters (12 and 15) and we had a great time. The staff was very friendly and professional. The only two issues I had was that I purchased an item on Groupon and wanted to upgrade my daughters face masks to be bought instead of rented and they made me pay full price instead of the difference. The second issue was that I used a rented mask and it stunk of BO horribly. I would also recommend you wear multiple layers of clothing to cushion the paint ball impacts. read more

The set up is great. Buuut, 5 min ride one way ,5 min ride back to start. All this for 10 minutes. ?!??? I drove 1 hour 15min . They really need to add time to the ride , add time decor zombies, something! and paint to make It worth going. Went for Zombie Hunting and had an A-OK experience. The "ride" is a short, but fun trip. It's nothing like having a real paintball experience, as you ride on the "Zombie Hunting Vehicle" which has guns attached to it. You shouldn't need more than the 100 paintballs they give you for the ride -- it's not that long. Overall the staff was friendly and fun and the zombies were fun to shoot. Not bad at all. read more

I posted this review on google yesterday and woke up this morning and the owner apparently deleted it so he clearly doesn't like the truth about his business and his treatment of customers to be out for others to see. We drove an hour with 4 excited kids yesterday and we arrived at 2:50. We realized cutoff to check in was 3pm so we were in line and finally reached the counter by 3pm. The owner instantly gave me a nasty look and attitude before I even had a chance to say a word to him. He then told us we will not be able to play because we wouldn't be in the system until 3:05 and that was too late. I understand rules but his attitude towards us and the other patrons was deplorable. He was angry, argumentative, bitter and just plain rude. We have come here every year for the zombie hunt for years but we will never step foot in this park again. I do a lot of PR work for my company and I will be sure to get the word out about this business and the way they treat customers. We have never been so disappointed read more

Came here for our Company Corporate Challenge. Have been doing this for the last 3-4 years here. Until yesterday, another team member had an altercation with one of my team member. The two men were being aggressive towards one another as I back my member away from the other. As the "staff members" approached the situation, they talked with the other aggressor to get his story but didn't get our side of the story. Myself, was there as it all started. They proceeded to kick my team member off the field as the staff said "he was the aggressor." They didn't bother to kick the other guy out. As this aggravated me, because they should've kicked both of them out, because the other guy got to play another match. All in all, the guy who said he was in charged had a bad attitude and proceeded to somewhat ignore me as I was trying to figure out why the other guy didn't get kicked out. He said as I quoted "sometimes its not fair." That through me off as the sport/event he was so called was running, was suppose to be a fair game. Had a good time until the incident happen and how they handled the situation. So be prepared, if you run into an altercation it might not be fair.. read more

Amazing fields!!! Went there with about 9 other people and had a private party blast! The fields are amazing. Some are big others are fairly small. Some hilly and others not. In private parties you have your own referee that follows your group around. I wish I lived here, but I live in Atlanta. Wish I could go back!! read more

Splatterpark Paintball Games - Got hit in the leg - Paintball Near Me - Mount Gilead, Ohio

We had been coming to the spring and fall "Big games" for years. This past fall game was an absolute bust. We were so excited after hearing that empire was sponsoring this years all big game, however, the paint that they gave us was the most brittle, terrible paint we have ever used as paintballers. It seemed to be a running joke within everyone that we talked to at this game as everyone was complaining about the paint. Halfway through the day, we noticed that people were using paint that they had gotten from other places which is typically not allowed, leaving those with the paint sold by splatter park with a severe disadvantage. Many people left halfway through the day, way before the game was over. We probably would have left as well, but we decided to stay since we drove over 2 hours to get there and they always have a drawing prize giveaway at the end. We usually love the big games that splatterpark had in the past but will probably look elsewhere due to the bad taste this event left in our mouths. read more

Terrible. Went there, marker was broken and needed maintenance, thought it was the O-Rings but wasn't quite sure how to fix it. I asked them for help and offered to pay but they turned me down. Other paintball fields do maintenance, not this place. Staff rude, would not recommend. read more

Went for the Zombie Hunting. It was fun - for the 10 minutes it lasted. First, the package included 100 paint balls to start. Not knowing the hunt was only about 1/4 mile long, we paid $10 each for an additional 100 paintballs each. We didn't want to waste paintballs shooting trees and, again, thinking it would be longer, we only shot at zombies. That was a mistake. We got to the turn around point and still had over half our original paintballs left. So, we handed the ticket for the additional 100 and plannd to just shoot everything on the way back. Here's my biggest issue. You pay $10 for 100 paintballs which is overpriced already. But, you don't get 100 paintballs. You don't even start with 100, from what I could tell by how many were pre-loaded. The staff takes a cup and randomly dumps paintballs into the guns. Maybe the cup is supposed to hold 100, but I got about a quarter cup - maybe 30. My husband got about half a cup. So, we paid $20 for less than 100 paintballs. Bottom line: they lie and charge for something you don't get. Overall, don't got out of your way, don't buy extra paintballs unless you plan to just shoot random objects, and know you'll be ripped off. read more
