I loved LOVED loved coming here. I am so glad I followed yelp on this one. I saw that this winery had a lot of good reviews so I picked this one out of the five nearby. It isn't a large winery but super pretty. I love how it is surrounded by wooded trees but then there is this beautiful hilly landscape looking down from their parking lot area. It reminded me of a farm instead of a winery. The people working here were really nice. The tastings were really affordable, $10. We were super lucky and came here on a day that they were playing live free jazz music. They accommodated by giving us outdoor wine glasses to take outside so we could do our tasting and listen to the live music. Even though there weren't any other children besides the ones in our group, I thought it was a family friendly environment. The bassist who was playing came up to my friend's kid to show him his bass. It was extremely sweet and kind to do this. The music was lovely, ambiance was lovely and their wine was yummy. I really liked their Malbec. It was pretty good. Thanks for a relaxing and fun afternoon. It was really memorable in my book. read more

Can I give this place 6 stars? Fell in love with this place. First of all, beautiful location - outdoor seating among the grapevines, beautiful view of their property and the barn. Secondly, winery dogs (however, not sure this place is dog friendly) who are amazingly friendly. Third, and most important, amazingly delicious wine! The tasting includes a large variety of wines (chilled whites to a variety of reds including some smokey ones) that also include chocolate + cheese and crackers to show how versatile their wine is. Talk about versatility - they even offer kegs & growlers of wine! We ended up buying a bottle (and we are not typically wine drinkers). This place is a "must stop" for me and will now add to my island itinerary. read more

Such a cute winery! We weren't planning to wine taste, but thankfully we saw their sign on the road! The place has a nice outdoor seating area, but we tasted inside. Yes, the winery lives up to its name there was a beautiful and spoiled dog awaiting us once we entered! Such a well behaved pup and wanted belly rubs, otherwise he would lay on the floor and sleep! Tastings are $8 but if you buy two bottles, tasting fee is waived. We enjoyed all the wines especially the chardonnay and pinot noir (grapes used from their vineyard!). Our pourer was a nice woman who was a delight to chat with as we tasted, very friendly and also knowledgeable about the wine. Very quaint place to wine taste and also enjoy a company for a cute dog! This is such a great little winery! An afternoon here was such a great addition to our trip to Whidbey Island. I have been to a fair amount of wineries across the country, but thought this family-run one was really special. We did a tasting and were so impressed by the quality of their wines, both red and white - it's easy to see why they have won awards. The people working there are really friendly and helpful, which makes the experience that much better. The tasting room is great - light and bright with indoor seating - but they also have an amazing shaded garden area with ample outdoor seating and a view of the vineyards. After our tasting, we got a full glass of their delicious "Deception" wine, which is a hearty red blend, just so we could sit outside and enjoy the weather and the view for longer. And if you want to take the experience home, you can not only buy their bottles, but they have a wide range of other wine-related items to take home, and they also do growlers of their wine! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

After getting Mother's Day brunch, we headed over for a little wine tasting and relaxation at Spoiled Dog. We were greeted by one of the spoiled dogs and he ran off into the barn area as if he was leading us to the wine room. Great scenery outside and a very friendly lady working inside. We did the tasting and selected 2 bottles of wine. Wines were good and you can really taste the subtle differences of each flavor. Very nice to do a little sippy sippy before getting back on the ferry. Easy to find and easy access to get back to Clinton. A+ experience. read more

You know the mom whose son commits murder but she insists that he's a "good boy"? That pretty much sums up my brief visit to Spoiled Dog Winery...allow me to explain. My wife and I stopped by yesterday (7/29/18) @340pm with the intent of doing a tasting and then splitting a bottle of wine based on the positive reviews on Yelp of the facility/grounds (we had our dog with us). Upon arrival, we walked straight to the tasting room door following the defined path from the parking lot and made entry. We were greeted with the owners dog freaking out when our dog entered the tasting room immediately followed by the owner rushing from behind the counter and yelling at us that dogs aren't allowed in the tasting room. Ok, "spoiled dog winery", dogs all over the grounds when we showed up...our bad. As she ran to confront us and basically push us out the door we just entered thru she proceeded to yell that there's a sign saying "no dogs in the tasting room" and her dog is "an alpha dog". Apparently, on Whidbey, "alpha dog" must be code for "poorly trained/behaved dog that owner makes excuses for" (see my intro comment). My wife and I looked at each other confused and then tried to locate any signs back outside the tasting room that said no dogs...found one! The sign that says this is adjacent to the path and is at the entrance to the outdoor seating area (large grass area with tables); might make more sense to post it next to the tasting room door instead of the gate going to the yard that I had no intention of going into and thus never read the sign? All in all, the situation was handled absurdly and we were immediately put off by the owner's awkward behavior. Rather than waste our money, we just decided to leave...went to check out a different winery instead. Considering we live 10 mins from the Woodinville wine area and spend pretty much every weekend visiting new wineries, this behavior is definitely out of character for an owner and frankly, embarrassing. read more

We actually arrived at the winery a bit before they were officially open, but the gates were open and we pulled in figuring we'd just have to turn around and head out. The owner happened to be outside and very nicely invited us in to taste anyway. We really liked all of the wines and took two bottles home (it would have been more if we didn't have to try to fly with them). We also bought a cheese that they had available that was made with their wine. We will definitely stop in next time we find ourselves on Whidbey Island. read more

You can try the wine flight for $8 or buy 2 bottles of wine with the tasting (worth the deal). You also get to get some great tastings of some local cheeses and chocolate in your tasting. Spoiled Dog has a marvelous greeter - an Australian Shepard pup named Brix. Cute name for a winery dog and even cuter real dog. The staff in the winery are really friendly, helpful and generally excellent. The wines are good, not great. We especially enjoyed the Malbec and the Decadence red blend. Bought a bottle of Malbec. The Decadence comes in a growler, so bought one of those. Since there's a $10 deposit on the growler, I think I now have a resealable bottle for a general purpose use. Happy, however, to support local folk who are making a go of it in a business dominated by multi-national corporations. Spoiled Dog winery is a business we would certainly frequent whenever we are in the Seattle area. read more

While the venue was beautiful and there were happy dogs everywhere with their wine-drinking masters, three of us did different tastings and none of the wines were good. Some even smelled like rubber tires. (That's a flaw, by the way, not an aroma in good wine). Sometimes we go places and I don't like the wine, but my husband loves it. Here it was unanimous, we all thought the wine was terrible. I'm not sure what competitions they are winning their awards for, or maybe we just got a bad vintage.....of several different wines. Now we did only try the reds, so maybe their whites or rose are good and that's what people rate so highly here. But I'm afraid that it's only that the venue is pretty and the people are nice and they allow dogs that gets them the good reviews. I think a lot of local folks hang out there. But I rate a winery by its wines, so I just couldn't give a higher review, no matter how nice the people were. The venue brought the review up from 1 Star to 3. read more

Just moved to Whidbey Island and since we are stuck at the hotel waiting for base housing, we decided to check out the island and stop inside this winery. First off, the workers/owner/employees are so nice and provided amazing customer service. The wines were great and ended up buying a bottle of reisling. Its $8 to try 4 types of wine: 2 white and 2 red and you can help yourself to some crackers and cheese and chocolate. It's very dog friendly and overall the place is super cute. One of the best places to find local, fresh, and delicious wine. Yes it is on Whidbey Island but you will not regret it! They even have growlers! I am all about local and delicious wines and this is the SPOT. The location and their entire set up is perfect , you can either sit inside and enjoy your wine or you can find a cozy spot outside in the shade or in the sun. I have been to this winery about 4 or 5 times. The people are nice but I have been overcharged twice in the times that I have been there. When I went their with some friends, we found out when we got home that 2 of the 5 people had been overcharged as well. I warn you, watch your bill. Of course, when we pointed out the issue we were kindly refunded the difference. The frequency in which we have been over charged seems like more of a pattern, than a mistake. read more

The two times I have been here, I was very impressed with their red wines, whether a blend, the pinot noir, or malbec - all were delicious. The first time I managed to get out of there with only a couple of bottles but the second time I went back specifically to purchase a case or two for an upcoming event. Received 15% off the purchase of 12 bottles and I hope that our guests will enjoy it as much as we did! Came here on a tour and was impressed by the scenery and view. The barn itself was also really cool. Unfortunately, the owner was weird as all get out. She was a little over-the-top proper about her pours and I felt like I was at my mother's house asking her for wine. Strange. Expensive wine. We're out here in the sticks folks. Snubbed by the owner (?) and CANNOT recommend--unless you like being treated like sh*t. We walked in, were asked to wait as she finished up with some nice folks, not even invited to sit and settle in. Began our tasting (first tiny pour) and two new groups came in. She never looked at us again. She spent time with them, sat them, explained the process to them, ran back and forth to get them started and walked right by us multiple times avoiding eye contact. After 15 minutes or more of watching her kow-tow and pander to the new groups who must have looked like they'd drop some cash we walked out. I was happy to head down the road and spend my money with people who didn't decide for whatever reason that we were "unworthy customers." Spoiled dog, methinks not. Snotty owner who treats customers poorly, yes. The dog, by the way, was a sweetheart. read more
