Greenbank Farm is a nice stop while exploring Whidbey Island. There's a lot to do here from the cheese shop to the little gardens and to my purpose for visiting - a cafe that offers local pies. Staff was nice although slow - there was one person in charge of ordering, busing, and checking out. The cafe carries Whidbey Pies made local in Langley. During my visit they had tart cherry, Granny Smith apple, marionberry, strawberry rhubarb, and loganberry (seasonal). I was able to get a slice warmed up with whipped cream. It was a nice stop to snack and try. There's also whole pies that you can take home which freeze well. In addition to pies, there's also other snacks like bagel chips and dips and also wine flights. There's something for everyone and it's a nice spot. They're also installing fast chargers for EVs right now so it'll soon be a great stop. read more

A great place to spend a few hours if you are on the island. They have huge walking trails that are dog friendly and you could spend as much time as you want. If hungry they have a wine tasting room which serves whidbey pies as slices or full along with some collection of wines and beers. They also have a strong non-alchoholic collection to choose from. There is a cheese shop which sells a good variety of cheese, a gift shop and a pet shop. All in all great place to spend an afternoon on a warm day. read more

Love this cute little place! The spacious are for dogs and kids to run and play while you sightsee or shop. The cheese shop is an absolute must and has some amazing flavored salsas, jams, pickled goodies, chips, crackers, and a divine variety or cheeses, you name it! The pup stop is a great place to get treats, bones, leashes and all things pets. Love the pie selection and they also have wine, crackers, cheese, and a great selection of clothes. Lady at the counter was rude. Walked in to check out the farm as the outside signs still show open and people where inside. She yelled out "nop nop nop we are closed, nop, nop". I think a simple hi folks, thank you for coming but we are actually closed would have been nice. Left a pretty bad impression and sadly don't think we would want to come back. Came here with our pup to check out this spot and enjoy some pie! This place is super family and dog friendly. They even have a shop where you can buy some goodies for your pup! I got a back of freeze dried salmon, some local mackerel treats, and a raincoat. They have little gardens and green space areas you can hike and enjoy the views. Update: As of Nov. 2023, I'm happy to report that everything is still awesome here. The Old Bistro still has very good food, the amazing Whidbey Island Pies, and excellent service -- and, all at very reasonable prices. The Greenbank Farm Wine Shop next door is still a great place to do a few sampler flights and buy some unique wines - some only available there. The UPDATE - buy your marionberry pie at the Old Bistro, a la mode, and take it to the seating at the wine shop, then buy a flight of wine and make sure to include the Loganberry desert wine. Now, here's the fun -- pour the Loganberry desert wine all over your pie and ice cream. Yeah, baby! That's a nice slice of heaven. Then, buy a bottle of the above and a whole pie of the above and play the home game! And, yes, I speak from experience. My QA Team and I don't recommend anything we haven't thoroughly sampled! ;-) Also, don't forget that they usually have the marionberry pie in GF or regular -- and the GF is as good as any non-GF pie around. if not much, much better. We went to the old spot bistro and ordered pies and drinks. The Marionberry was sold out so we got peach and loganberry. They were very good but they were served cold which was a bit disappointing. I'm not sure if heating up was even an option as the cashier did not ask us anything. We also did not see ice cream on the menu but saw other people who ordered later than us had ice cream with their pies. If we had known that, we would have added ice cream. The drinks were just okay. None the less, pies still tasted good and we ended up buying a whole pie to go to enjoy at home. read more

Great place to hang out with family. They had a father's event going as well, local vendors with arts and crafts. There was wine tasting, shops to check out and just very pretty layout. Pie Pie- me-oh-my! I saw a sign one the main road for Pie-Cheese-Art-Wine and I asked Robert to turn the car around and go back! And he did~ love me some pie! The art shop was closed, but I was really all about the pie! I was momentarily tempted by a loganberry wine slushie, but I wanted to see the cafe menu first before indulging in wine. I ended up with hot apple cider instead! We all shared the following: Chicken pot pie- oh my! A little more celery forward than what I usually like- but the flavors were very balanced and I loved it, even the crust Marion berry pie- hmmmm, I LOVED this pie made with local berries Loganberry pie- another hit, but I liked the marion berry pie more. If you are ever in Whidbey island, Washington you must go to Greenbank and visit Greenbank Farm and the barn with all of the fabulous wines they have. Holly was extremely knowledgeable and is a great storyteller. Her charcuterie boards were excellent. My wife and I will be there sometime in the future. read more

I love this place. There's a few cute shops and restaurants. The shops are fun to browse and the food at the restaurants are decent enough, but the property is absolutely stunning. There is a beautiful pond, expansive meadows, a garden, and the building itself is gorgeous. There's great outdoor seating. Best pies ever, hands down! We live in Everett, so whenever I have a chance to go to Whidbey (or know someone who is)- this is a required stop. The pies are pricey but so quality and fresh! It is definitely worth it (and maybe a good thing for my wallet it's not so close by). My favorite is their Marionberry pie. Not too sweet and tart, loaded with berries and their flaky crust is nothing i've had before. They also sprinkle the top crust with coarse brown sugar that adds this sweet and light crunch to each bite- yyummm! I normally by multiple fresh pies and saran wrap them at home to freeze and save for later (that's how much i love them!)- and they maintain their flavor after defrosting and baking! Always a hit. Highly recommend. Their pie varieties are seasonal and they are found in limited and select grocery stores on Whidbey only. read more

Great farm property with a wine shop, pie shop, gift shop, farm trails, and garden with pond. The tripleberry and apple pie slices we had from Whidbey Pies were super good. We enjoyed walking around the property. There's also a cheese shop that has some postcards and magnets as well. On our way out, we pulled over and walked up to the long-haired cows behind the fence. They were so cute and walked up toward us and we took photos of them. Be careful not to make any sudden movements or you may scare them away. But they would come back cautiously. Cutest thing ever. Greenbank is one of those places that sits on the main road SR 525 but far away enough that it piques your interest to check out the giant red barn that says WHIDBEY 1904. Back in 1904 this hub served as a grocery store, berry farm, a deli and access to a post office. Did you know that this was once the largest loganberry farm in the world? Loganberries, black berries and red currants grew here in a remote past. Instead of berries there are a lot of solar panels soaking up the rays for their solar farming project, an education center, art shops, a cafe, a wine tasting room and a cheese shop with a variety of gifts (very pricey but cute). The cheese shop had a lot of cool touristy stuff (stuffed octopus - totally random) with kitschy crap and foodstuffs, including those old school gum cigarettes that you can blow a puff of flour "smoke" as you chew gum that's hard as heck (think Hubba Bubba); candied larvae worms, scorpions in lollipops and other weird bug flavors. The lady in the cheese shop ignored us and that was OK because I was not about to buy anything there. I tried some of the wines in the Wine Shop. Tastings were $5 for small but tasty pours. I ended up buying three bottles of fruit wines. The art shops were nice but pretty sedate. Lots of textiles and yarny things. People inside were really nice. From Loganberries to Solar Farming, times have changed... Visited back in July of 2015. read more

I love this little countryside gem of mixed venue. The pie shop, tucked alongside the pond, has indoor and outdoor seating. Good coffee, lovely pies with delicate crusts. Some soups, quiche, sandwiches, salads round out a limited, but well prepared menu. The art stores and sculpture garden have some really good pieces and lots of affordable gifts. But my personal favorite is the cheese store. Huge array of yummy cheeses and all sorts of other edibles. Conveniently, there's a wine shop as well. The huge off-leash area is bounded on the north to woods with hiking trails, and all with beautiful views of the water. One of my favorite stops on Whidbey Island. read more

I've been out to Greenbank Farm several times over the years. It's one of my favorite places to take visitors. The Farm itself gets five stars, but I've been unable to find a way to rate the cheese shop itself. The two stars is for the cheese shop on the farm. The lady that runs it is very standoffish and doesn't seem to enjoy what she does. Also, if you buy anything from there, double check the expiration dates! The last time I was there this September, I browsed the bargain basket she had by the front door and bought a can of organic chickpeas. Today I grabbed the can off the shelf to use and felt a soft spot. Odd, I thought. Cans shouldn't have soft spots. I check the bottom of the can and nearly fell through the floor. The can expired FOUR YEARS AGO. She either isn't doing her due diligence at checking the expiration dates or she just dgaf. Given her attitude, she should probably retire. A few months is one thing, but years is another. I will still bring people out to the Farm. But they will be warned about the cheese shop. I will never buy anything from there again, myself. There isn't anything sold in there I can't find elsewhere in one form or another, and probably for much cheaper. read more

It's so beautiful on Whidbey and this is just part of that beauty. We visited there last summer on such a beautiful summer day. The alpacas were running around and biting each other's butts, the ducks were chasing after me and the seagulls were pretending to be ducks lounging in the pond. They had some sort of craft fair that day and it sort of sucked because they wouldn't let us in to see the crafts unless we paid a fee... LAME. So, we ventured into the wine area. Now, I'm not into wine at all but we paid our little tasting fee and went at it. We tasted the loganberry wine and that was soooo yummy! They also had a guava wine which I had to ask how in the heck did they make that? I wanted to hear some secret ninjafly business about them growing guavas somewhere on the island which was top secret ninjafly stuff... BUT, nope, they got their guavas from Hawaii and made the wine in Washington... BORING! haha! Just kidding. The guava wine was actually one of my favourites! Anyway, we drank a bunch and purchased a ton o' wine. We had a suitcase full of wine when we went back to Hawaii. I also stopped by the pie shop next door and they have THE BEST homemade pies!!!!
