While I received excellent care before and during my procedure, there business office is a nightmare to deal with. I had to pay a deposit on the day of my procedure in January 2026. Despite multiple requests to refund me an overpayment of $349.80, no one can give me the courtesy of a reply let alone my money. I heard from the physician's business office when I told them they could use the amount owed to the surgery center to pay the remainder of the physician's bill (which would still have left a credit balance), but was told that wasn't possible because they were two separate entities. It didn't seem possible to NOT pay a deposit on the day of the procedure. I explained to the receptionist that there were claims in flight. Her response was that I would get a refund. They like to say they are the only urologists in town. If I ever need care again - I will make the trip to Idaho. That's too bad, because I think the doctors are great. Their billing practices are awful. If my insurance company continues to be unsuccessful in getting them to refund me, Small Claims Court. In short - go to Idaho if you need a urologist. When I went for my consult they were thorough and listened to my concerns. For my procedure the doctor explained completely what was going to happen, very friendly and caring staff!! read more

I was in need to see the doctor for a urinary blockage. Went to ER and the doctor didn't want to come to the hospital and chose to see me the next day. Scheduler couldn't find appt for me until I made a stink. Doctor came in with a huge chip on his shoulder like he was doing me this great favor. He insisted that my wife needed to impale my penis with a cocktail stirrer 3x a day for a few weeks. She said she couldn't and he made her cry. (insisting that in life you have to sometimes do "hard things"). She has been my caretaker for 30 years (I have MS) and she was highly offended by his comment. Without a doubt the worst medical group I have EVER dealt with in my entire life. My physician was actually misinformed as to the protocols clearly outlined in the American Urology Association's latest guidance. I asked for another provider and the front office staff refused as it's "against their policy". Boo hoo. They can't have their doctors getting hurt feelings because someone doesn't like their unprofessional level of care or lack of expertise in BASIC urology. The message is crystal clear: their doctors are the priority. NOT your level of comfort or care. When challenged about protocols, the office staff actually lied to my face about the PUBLISHED gold standard guidelines. Moreover, that same staff is the rudest front office I've encountered in 50 years and I work in the medical field! Wait times are deplorable. Scheduling is unpleasant at best. Perhaps it's because this specialty group owns a MONOPOLY on urology in Spokane so you are forced to put up with their crap. Sadly, if you live here... there's no place you can go. Me... My brother is a patient, and has mental issues . Having a procedure done july 22, was told paperwork was sent out on June 9th. Well still hasn't shown up. I have called twice no return call. Leave a message, they say return calls in 48 to 72 hrs. That's insane. I guess I will stop by the office and see where the paperwork. This is terrible customer service. Can never get ahold of anyone and then when you do finally get someone they transfer you to someone else and you end up getting that person's voicemail and they never call back. Was in the hospital and have 2 stones blocking my right kidney. Got an appointment and all they did was tell me yeah you'll probably need surgery and the nurse made it seem like it was my fault that I had kidney stones. Never actually saw a doctor at that appointment and they didn't do anything and said that they'll have someone call me to schedule the surgery. It's now a month later and I haven't heard from them. Went in today for an appointment and was told the doctor was sick. I have waited 8 weeks , drove over 100 miles round trip, spent over $20 in gas and they never called to tell me my appointment was canceled. Also got snotty when I called them on it and lied and said they called me but they did not. I've had a horrible experience with them in the past and have life long damage but they had new people and options are very limited but I'll never go back there again. My son is 28 years old and has Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy, on a ventilator with tracheostomy and chronic kidney stones. He has had multiple procedure done to get rid of large stones over the years.He recently had a procedure done in January 2026 and already has been having kidney stone pain again this month, April 2026 and contacted Spokane Urology about it and for a week and a half no one would even call back on the issue and called again today 4-13-2026 and still cant get them to put it orders for a scan. Not sure how doctors can not care at all about people in pain and at least put in orders to see whats going on. Such a sad world we live in. read more

I wish I had read these reviews prior to scheduling an appointment with Spokane Urology. My primary doc referred me to them and told me that they were the only Urology left in Spokane. They rushed me into surgery, which didn't help me and show no signs of wanting to help me any further than that. I found a Provider in Post Falls ID that I will schedule with, and start over. Spokane Urology is a surgery center who will rush you into surgery whether you need it or not and then forget you. read more

Not happy at all. I wish I could impact their reputation even more than a yelp review. Horrible surgical experience coupled with billing dynamics resulting in an inaccurate collections notice after I had faithfully paid every month and had my balance under three hundred dollars. Then, a collections notice because I had not paid in 90 days. My statement was in front of me showing my perfect payment history. The nice lady I called said the check probably crossed paths with the statement. Nice try, 90 days kind of negates that possibility. Not impressed. There is no respect, patients yell, scream, throw things at you , cuss at you, call you names, and management does nothing about it. There is NO communication, the 'supervisor' for the front desk likes to hide in her office & will not communicate or help you in ANY way. This place is a SHIT SHOW! If you care anything about your well being, mental health, stress level, or overall health, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Over 30 employees have quit/resigned from here since August of 2023 BECAUSE of these issues. Doctors don't seem to care WHATSOEVER either!! Save yourself & just skip over ANY job openings for this TOXIC, workplace!!! There are better places that will pay you more money & you don't have to put up with the BS that you do here.... Spokane Valley Urology charges entirely too much. It's like over $300 out of pocket for a single visit!!!i I also don't believe they'll be able to solve my issue of frequent urination. I'll try their medicines and of course they won't work and I'll just keep wasting my money for followups which could be done over the phone. They blame my problem almost entirely on drinking coffee! How ridiculous is that? If it irritates the bladder so much, how come all my coworkers can drink all the coffee they want and don't have to use the restroom every 30 minutes? Also, when they got my referral, they never called. I had to call and the first time I wasn't even able to get through. Finally I called a second time and they were able to get me an appointment. We call every day and leave a message only to be ignored. After 30 phone messages I lfinally got a call. Even still was not given an appointment. Was referred to Spokane Urology by my GP. After waiting a couple of weeks for them to contact me for an appointment, I call them. They took my name and number and was told they would call back to set up a time in a few weeks. Over a month later, no one called to set up an appointment. Searched for another Urology clinic and found Idaho Urology. Was able to see a doctor within a couple of weeks. If you want to be seen yet this year, I suggest any place other than Spokane Urology. read more

I was referred to Spokane Urology by my hospital after being in the emergency room with a 7mm kidney stone stuck in my uriter. I call them promptly at 8am when they opened And I was on hold for 30 minutes. When I finally reached someone she scheduled me to see a specialist 8 days from now. Eight days? I reminded her that I have a 7 mm stone inside me and was just in the hospital the night before bleeding, and she just simply said that she's well aware of my situation and that there are no availabilities. I asked her, with so many doctors in that office, is she telling me that there's not one single on call physician? She pretty much ignored my question and just reiterated that there's nothing she can do. Might try to call them about 4 days later to see if they had any earlier openings cuz I was having a lot of problems and I was on hold for 40 minutes and then simply gave up. The day before my appointment I had a bad flare up and tried to call them and I was on hold for 48 minutes before I simply gave up and hung up the phone. I called my primary doctor and he got me in right away and sent me for x-rays within 10 minutes and handled the matter immediately like I was actually important to him. Spokane urology made me feel like they couldn't have cared less as to who I was, what my problem was and how badly I needed medical assistance. very hard to get any response back from them... also my surgery was pushed two weeks because they forgot to schedule the necessary pre op. my medical leave was also denied from the state because they just did not fill out the paperwork so not only lost income but lost more than expected because I had to be out of work longer due to them not scheduling correctly read more

Record everything these people say to you because they say one thing and do another and then when you kindly ask for them to clarify they become incredibly rude. A receptionist will speak for a provider and tell you what they said when they were not at your appointment. Terrible experience so far. Went to the er and the mri showed I had two stones stuck and they needed to be removed. I called immediately the next day and sat on hold for 45 minutes waiting and finally reached someone who was able to get me in two days later. It's now appointment day and my appointment was for 3:15pm. When I got into the office it was completely packed with just a few seats left open. Filled out my paperwork and got checked in at 3:30. I'm noticing that the office has almost cleared out and people who arrived after me were getting called back and noticed the time was now 4:30pm so I ask if I was actually checked in or just forgotten about. The receptionist responds with I don't know maybe they are running behind. I asked if there was any eta and she said they will get to you when they do. It's now 4:55 and they finally call me back! Almost 2 hours late without an update or apology! I get back with the doctor and spend maybe 5 minutes with him and he sends me to a different scheduling person who lets me know I should be getting a call in 5-7 days to set up an appointment. I went to Spokane Urology for a prostate biopsy which was done by Dr. Lance. I'm impressed and like Dr. Lance, but extremely disappointed by the staff of Spokane Urology. I would give Dr. Lance a 5 out of 5, but Spokane Urology a 0 out 5. I have called them many times over several weeks and received nothing but excuses and confusing information. I have suffered with kidney stones for years and have not been lucky enough to pass them without medical procedures being performed. Doctor Deters removed the last kidney stones that formed inside of me with two procedures that were necessary for the removal. He took the time to talk with me and he let me know that he would do everything possible to make the whole procedure and recovery process as comfortable as possible. He is a man of his word. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Spokane Urology for treatment of kidney stones.
