Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Spooky Nook PA is an impressive facility purely based on size alone. The complex is massive and at first glance it is hard not to be amazed by how much is packed into one location. There are countless courts fields and activity areas which makes it clear why this place attracts so many teams tournaments and large scale events. The variety of sports and amenities offered is a major positive. No matter what sport you are coming for there is a strong chance it is supported here. The layout allows for multiple games and events to run at the same time which is convenient for tournaments and families with kids participating in different activities. There are also food options and areas to sit which help when spending long days at the complex. That said the sheer size of the facility can also be a drawback. Navigating from one area to another can be overwhelming especially for first time visitors. Clearer signage and better wayfinding would make a big difference. It is easy to feel rushed or stressed trying to find the correct court or field on time particularly during busy weekends. Crowd management is another area that could use improvement. When events are in full swing the complex can feel extremely congested. Parking can be challenging and walking through crowded corridors with athletes spectators and equipment can become frustrating. The overall experience during peak hours feels chaotic rather than streamlined. The facility itself is functional but not always comfortable. Some areas feel worn and could benefit from better maintenance or updates especially considering the high volume of traffic the complex sees. Seating can be limited and not always ideal for spectators staying for extended periods of time. Overall Spooky Nook Sports Complex delivers on scale and opportunity but falls short in execution. It is an impressive venue with huge potential but the experience can feel overwhelming and tiring rather than enjoyable. With better organization improved navigation and attention to comfort it could easily earn a higher rating. For now it lands at a solid three stars. read more

Absolute money grab. Disney prices, Six Flags quality and customer service. Not kept clean, even the basketball courts had trash on them. The blue/plastic courts are falling apart, so many parts have missing pieces or trim missing. An absolute nightmare to navigate if you are handicapped or have mobility issues. read more

We were here for the under Armour youth girls's basketball tournament. This place is insane and appears to be a large money pit. First, the facilities are really interesting. With so many teams here to play basketball there was definitely a variety of quality between courts. Sponsor teams had premium space like in my photos, but other teams just had modified all purpose sports space. Not a really good set up proceeding for anybody who is there with their youth. Unfortunately, everything cost something here. It starts with an exorbitant amount for parking. Since this is not an NFL stadium, it seems very ridiculous to have a parking fee that you could not avoid by parking further away. Otherwise, the amount of commercial cash grabs here from food to merch was rather blasé. If this is what funding their business model, I guess I can understand, but it does not feel right. While attending the basketball tournament at Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Lancaster, PA, a young man (the scorekeeper) became agitated when we, as parents, questioned his abilities in keeping the teams' scores. He was giving the wrong team the points. When questioned, he used expletives that my adult son would never use towards any adult. This young man has no respect for adults or himself. I had the opportunity to visit Spooky Nook Sports arena for a two day basketball tournament. in my two days I was able to see the pros and cons of this complex. there's not a lot of signage directing you where to go so you just have to figure it out between the multiple buildings. There were a lot of tournaments that go on at the same time, so parking was very tight. If you coming to this facility, you may have to walk quite a ways to get to your vehicle. Seating is limited so be sure to bring your own chair, and the concessions are kind of limited so if you have special dietary needs, you may want to have something close by in your car. For this to be such a large facility the bathrooms were fairly well-maintained. All in all, Spooky Nook is suitable for its purpose. read more

Hardwood courts are amazing but the temporary blue courts aren't. There are only 10 hardwood courts and only the best teams get to play on them, the rest of the teams play on the blue courts where the rims aren't right and the courts make the ball bounce weird. The food court is average, but don't get the pretzels! They may look good but the taste like they've been soaking in pickle juice and are sour for some reason? Weird taste. The sports store is superb with Overtime gear, basketball shoes, spooky nook merchandise and so much more. T-shirts are $10 and Hoodies are $25, best deal ever! I got them December 2024 and they still haven't changed condition after countless wears. If you are on a team that's playing here don't miss out on coming! Parking. $10/day but they won't monitor the front parking lot, even when they can see empty parking spots in the front lot the monitors won't let cars in. We came for a national basketball tournament and it was an awesome experience for the kids. They have 31 courts, a cafeteria, Arcade, sports apparel store, hotel, which are just some of the amenities. The place can get crowded, but the staff is nice and great with facilities events. Their is ample parking, but it is $10 per day if you are not staying at their hotel and a $20 entrance fee per day for spectators unless you get the 2 day pass for $35. read more

I'm truly impressed. I was visiting from Florida for an Xcel gymnastics meet and I've never seen a sports complex like this before. It was packed so you know it's a popular spot for sports. Huge basketball court area, soccer field, walking/running track, weight area, baseball/softball field, a large covered dome, etc. They have lots of good options for food - pizza, burgers, sushi, hot dogs and so much more. The only thing I'll say about the food is that my pizza was a little sliver of a slice in a standard slice box (that could definitely be better) and it was cold. We had lemonade from a vendor that was good and some dipping dots. The açaí looked good and fresh too but I didn't try that. I noticed a couple of medical office (ortho and ophthalmology) too when I visited which would be convenient for a person visiting. Really nice. I enjoyed my visit. read more

I was there again last year during club volleyball season. This is how they set up the referee stand on each court. The parents subsequently move them off the court. The set up spectator seating on the baseline. The parents again had to move the seats at least 6 feet from the baseline. If you host volleyball tournaments, you need to have the right equipment and hire the right people to set up the court. You are putting athletes at risk. This happened because they set up more courts to accommodate a larger tournament while their venue was truly not big enough. The tournament sponsor should have shut down registration rather than taking more teams to make more money. This is an absolute embarrassment. The facility needs to do better. read more

Spooky Nook Sports is the perfect example of the typical massive sports complex with a main goal of making as much money as possible. There is literally a cost for everything here. Parking....10 bucks, entry fee 30 bucks...., one pretzels $6 bucks....a burger, fries and drink.....20 bucks. My husband and I spent a whooping $130 plus dollars just to watch our 15 year-old play two games in a smelling warehouse with limited seating....what an incredibly annoying way to spend Saturday. read more

This place has everything for family fun and team events. It's got so many sports venues, it will be difficult to list them all. They have a hockey arena with lodging for the team and guests for events, they have pickleball court leagues you can join as well as get lessons, they have tons to do inside and also have business event rooms upstairs. Toilets overflowing, trash everywhere, vomit, spilled drinks, and good luck if you're playing on the blue courts; best of luck finding a spot to actually watch your kid's game. What I appreciate about Spookynook... it's a basketball hoopers dream territory and all the hand sanitizer stations (by Hilliard - The cleaning resource) were always fully stocked, plus the TP stock is good quality. Review is only for private event hosted on Memorial Day. The vast amount of activities that you can do here is unlimited- no I hadn't tried them out but do check it out. Restrooms are cleaned (which is a great sign), restocked throughout the day. The prices at the snack bar and food stand is so reasonable compared to the prices in another state (cough cough NYC). The best amateur sports venues ever visited!! They definitely accommodate traveling families by providing event space, lodging, plenty of food options, indoor and outdoor recreation (Arcade, rock climbing, outdoor fields etc.). Parking is plentiful. Seating can be limited but not if ya play your cards right!! Lol There's plenty of space to bring sporting chairs if you choose. Oh Em Gee, I neglected to mention they have an apparel store that sells Spooky Nook apparel as well as UA, Nike, Etc. They also sell candy and other goodies. Everything is reasonably priced. Holy cannoly! This place is humongous! Any sports fantasy you may have, come and life it here. Basketball, climbing, ninja-warrior, baseball, soccer, futsal, it is mind-blowing! Staff is very attentive if you have a question. Food and drinks are reasonably priced though on the higher end of reasonable. There is an ample food court for your nutritional needs, both healthy and of the questionable kind. Our main focus has been on the futsal games. The referees are very professional while explaining the rules when the kids foul. The floors are well maintained, though sometimes appear to be slippery when one after the other slips while trying to kick or maneuver around players. All the interactions I have here are just with awesome folks who love being able to serve and help out. Not only does this facility have just about anything you can dream of to do and all the machines you'd want, it really is an athletes paradise. Joe with security is a gift to this place with his personality and smile to make sure folks are helped and Sam at the gym desk was able to get me squared away and took the time to make sure everything was done easy peasy. The climbing gym has a nice community but the gym itself is dirty and is mismanaged. The floors have never been vacuumed in the year I've been there, the Route setters don't wear helmets when setting new routes, camp kids are running under climbers when they're bouldering yet the "camp counselors" never have once told them not to do that. Came here for volleyball tourny for 18 year old girls. Parking is horrendous. All of the games on the first day started late bc people could not get in due to the traffic jam. That being said you can imagine the massive number of players and family members in the building. There are so few toilets it was ridiculous. The number of toilets does not accommodate any sort of tournament. Absolutely no food or drink we're allowed from outside. They searched our bags! No water for an athletic event? And no water fountains either. Of course they SELL WATER if you want to shell out $3/bottle. I see in reviews from 2-5 years ago that people have complained about this... yet nothings changed. Clearly priority is money making not supporting athletes. Food options? Terrible. We waited in a 30 minute line for two small Açaí bowls that cost me $28. It was the only healthy choice so we did that twice. I paid $40 for my weekend pass to watch my kid play in games I already paid for. $30 for the weekend for parking. $28 for two small bowls of fruit, two days in a row. 3/water and nowhere to use the bathroom. And we got frostbite walking the half mile to our vehicle. For VB the seating is minimal. Bring your own chair. I never want to come back. Ever!! Only plus was nets hanging between courts that limited ball cross over. Otherwise? No thank you ever again! read more

I was here last week for a sporting event that went great this is a nice size complex. The people who worked there were great! I didn't stay at there hotel but it seemed pretty nice and the girl who worked the front desk was amazing! We had a weird (funny) conversation and I forgot her name but shout out to her and the hostess at Forklift and Pallet the hostess there was also amazing! I have been trying to enroll my kids for months...I texted, called and emailed and was given to Lisa the head of gymnastics and I am exhausted and tired of the poor communication...everyone else got back to me right away but Lisa I have gone up to two weeks with hearing anything from. Had a corporate event at the Atrium Bar. Booked room from 5pm until 8:30 pm with heavy hors d'oeuvres and open bar. The food was yummy but at 7pm as we were raffling off gift baskets the staff took all the chafing dishes full of food away and cleared everyone's full plates and drinks from the tables and closed the bar. Our contract never stated we could have the room for another 1.5 hrs, but without food or drinks! It was also never mentioned that there was a Toys for Tots event happening at the same time with over 400 families coming through our event, using the bathrooms and looking over our gift baskets. I wouldn't recommend booking an event unless you have a contract that states don't take away the food in the middle of your event and no party crashers! read more

I had to file for bankruptcy after visiting Spooky Nook. After purchasing the daily shoelace and eyeglasses pass to allow me to bring in those outside amenities, I can no longer afford my Lyme Disease medication. Spooky Nook did offer to help, but when they came to my house, they somehow managed to make me pay to park in my own driveway. I now work there cleaning rock climbing harnesses as an indentured servant so I can pay off the extra cheese I ordered on a soft pretzel in 2013. read more

This place is a drag. They built the biggest facility I've ever seen and have no idea how to operate it. We've been dealing with Covid for over a year. They should know that four check-in stations aren't enough. I waited in-line over half an hour and missed half my kid's game. There is no signage anywhere with court assignments. If you're lucky you won't have to eat there, because it's typically pricey crap for such a venue. But you may want invest in a meal if you're leaving the facility because it could take you another 30+ minutes to exit the parking lot. Cars don't have covid problems, right?
