Many knick knacks in a small space and you won't find any treasures or really fancy trinkets but you will find something useful and it won't cost much .The lady who operates the space is very nice and enjoys whatever questions you have about the items on display for sale . I found a few mugs that look like they were around during the Kennedy administration and a small wall painting that looks dark and mysterious which will find a place on the wall of my man cave .overall my cuz and I spent about 50 bucks and got a bunch of old unique stuff thats very interesting indeed .4 stars on my yelp meter.

It's located right behind their Synagogue and a few blocks off Mamaroneck Ave. I'll be straight up, heading down the few steps leading to Back Door seemed sketchy- but I moved past that because I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. Back Door isn't huge- but to their defense, they have a good handle gathering items by sections. Upscale and lower-end items are all mixed in together, so you're going to have to do a little digging. I've been doing Thrift shopping for ages- but my thing is...there ain't nothing a good dry cleaners won't do. I'm usually on the hunt for something weird and sorting through the aisles to see if I find a treasure or two. Majority of times, I've doctored up my pieces, gotten rid of buttons to replace with funkier ones, replaced lamp shades, bought large wooden pieces of whatever, etc. Then again...there's always Pinterest. Right? This is the place to haggle- and by the way- it's only CA$H. I scored a Rainbow Cuff Bracelet for $3, a few other Bracelets. Plus a bright Red and Fuschia Clutch going for $10- and in the end, got it for $6. Nice experience, wouldn't hurt me to try it again.

This Scarsdale outdoor mall has only one anchor, Lord & Taylor. Fully adjacent to Lord & Taylor,…read moreshopping to your hearts content can easily be done at one of the various high and mid-ranged stores that are generally found in and around Midtown Manhattan. The list of shopping options are vast with stores such as, Brooks Brothers, Talbots, Talbots Woman, Ann Taylor, Athleta, Banana Republic, all genders/generations of The Gap, I'm not done yet...Barnes and Nobles, The Wine Stop and Spirits, The Children's Place, Papyrus, Starbucks, Chase Bank, still not done...west elm, JoS.A. Bank. Across the street there's Citibank, Paper Source, Ann Taylor - Loft, Chico's, The Fresh Market, Trader Joe's...am I forgetting anyone? I know I am, because there are so many other stores and small businesses all in this one area to work with. Parking is easy to find in the ginormous free outdoor parking lot. I suggest parking away from the fray and then just walk to where you need to go and walk across the street to the other spots. Much easier that way. If you're looking for some eats after all of that shopping, head over to Fig & Olive, Haiku, Barnes and Noble Kitchen, or one of the many other restaurants dotted along White Plains Road. So why deal with all of that city traffic going to Manhattan, when you can best enjoy the traffic driving North on a scenic, well paved, fall foliage ladened parkway. Vernon Hills Shopping Center, one stop shopping at its finest.

Something funky for your living room? Totally. But if you do eye something, get it quick, otherwise, it'll be gone. Such is the case with an unusual desktop, sterling silver card holder that I wanted to purchase for Mr. Man, but I bypassed it and when I went back, it was gone. Service is nice and Sharon will gladly assist in almost anything that might interest you that day. Prices are clearly, comparable to its own Scarsdale location---lavish. No problem....every so often, The Dark Horse runs a store-wide sale and will not feel that huge dent in your wallet. Though I don't shop here on a regular, items, truly are rare, one-of-a kind. I pick a few funky and worldly, accent pieces to elevate my living room a bit and redecorate my college-age daughter's room, with items that I will not find anywhere else.

They also have unique gifts that would make fantastic house warming gifts. Their store has been in Scarsdale Village for as long as I can remember and probably for at least twenty years. My wife and I have often shopped there when we are looking for something that you really couldn't find anywhere else. This is not a store for people looking for a bargain or something you might find at a tag sale, however, the gifts that you might purchase will be truly valued and appreciated by the lucky recipients.
