I have been coming here for a few years for my kid's haircuts. The employees are generally nice but over the past year or so they have raised their prices astronomically and are also very aggressive with the "tip, tip" request. Stopped in today and not only had another price increase but I just noticed they shaved a piece of my son's eyebrow off??? Wth????? This location has begun to operate as if it is a high-end salon or boutique barber shop, which they are not. Look for alternatives in the area that are MUCH cheaper and save your time. read more

Frequent Customer All of my kiddos get their cuts here. Typically, we get in and out within 20-30 minutes. We jet in right after school and run home to shower off the annoying little hairs. It's $11 for each plus tip. I think it's a good deal and plus, I don't have to do it! read more

We had a horrible experience here and will never be back again. From the beginning, no one cared to greet as we went in. I had to ask if we can get a haircut few times to get their attention. The guy cutting my son's hair just buzzed it even though I said to use scissors for the top. The lady cutting my daughter's hair had an awful attitude. I told her to trim 2 inches and she said she doesn't cut by inches because she doesn't know how much that is. That should've been my clue to leave. She then cuts about 4 inches of her hair. I foolishly sat down to cut my hair thinking just get it all done in one place. I told her about 3 times, exactly how much to cut. She still cut off about 6 inches of my hair! My hair hasn't been this short since middle school. She doesn't care what the customer wants. She cuts according to her own will. I'm so angry and upset. read more

I came here out of desperation since I could not make it to my regular spot Julie's Barber on McFadden. Basically I was searching for a low priced haircut that could deliver a satisfactory fade, and discovered this spot. Be sure to explain CLEARLY what type of cut you want (see full story below), because you will run a risk of miscommunication at this barber shop. Let me first state that I am an easy customer to please when it comes to haircuts. Today I asked for a mid 0 fade with a 4 on top and was met with confusion from the barber. I appreciate that she first showed me what a 4 looked like, so I could reassure her it was okay. The haircut seemed promising. However, as she started cutting the top, she asked me if I wanted it longer. I said I wouldn't mind it a bit longer, then she stared at me in shock. Being polite I again reassured her that a 4 is okay. Then began a string of forced small talk. First off, I wondered what impression I made to her, for her to assume my ethnic origin? Did she really understand what I meant, when I said "I found this place on Yelp." It was clear she did not understand much of what I was saying. In this situation she should have the skills to ask for clarification. She must have missed the mid fade part because after forcing me to look away from the mirrors during the whole process, I found that she actually did a high fade despite my request for a mid fade. The barber really worked hard to deliver a good haircut, so she deserved the tip. But poor communication basically ruined the experience and tarnished the credibility of this barber shop. Her co workers were on edge too (they kept looking over), and I feel extremely sorry for them. Unfortunately Sports Barber is just a one hitter quitter. read more

I was tired of paying close to $30 and upwards to have something that takes less than 10 minutes to do and requires no styling. Good bang for your buck spot, at $12 it's a pretty good deal. I'm not from this area so when I needed a cut, I didn't have the luxury to wait around or book an appointment in advance. Lucky Cathy was taking walk-ins and gave me a solid no-fuss cut. It's refreshing not to have to pay 40 bucks plus tip for a cut like back in San Jose. I don't get anything fancy either but if you're trying to get some unique designs, it seems like Kevin is your go to guy. It's unfortunate there's some bad reviews souring this honest business because I enjoyed my experience and felt this shop deserves more positive attention. I definitely recommend the shop to post more pictures of their clients because the pictures will speak for themselves! Friendly barber, regular haircut is only $14 which is rare to find in OC. Went in on Sunday afternoon and only waited a few minutes until the the next barber was available, no appointment needed. After haircut was done, the barber used a warm wet towel to rid of all the pesky stray hairs which was a nice surprise. Will definitely come back next time I need a haircut! read more

I get a military high and tight cut and you'd be surprised how many barbers mess those up. The price is fine as well, $12. My barber of 30 years retired unexpectedly a few years ago. I'd driven by Sport Barber in Mission Viejo many times, and ended up giving the shop a try. By chance, I ended up with Kathy, who gave me the best haircut I had ever had. Have been going to her ever since, and continue to marvel at her skill. Her cuts have been so good they last twice as long as those other barbers have given me. I pay her over 8 times what she charges, because she is worth every penny of it! read more

I've been coming here since they opened and have always got a great hair cut by Kevin. (my go too). Avoid the heavier lady, it's worth waiting until someone's open then to get her. She's messed up my hair multiple times and I made the mistake of giving her another chance. I needed my hair cut for a special event this weekend. Needless to say she messed it up so bad I will have to shave my head to look decent and grow my hair back out which will take months. She's lazy and didn't even try! I went here for the first time because I'm staying in the area for the summer. My friend recommended it to me. This is the best haircut place I've been to, for just $12 it's a steal. They are friendly and have enough hair cutters to have no long lines even on a Sunday. The place is very spacious so I didn't feel like I was staring into the eyes of all the other people getting cuts (I hate that) and they did a great job cutting my hair. The barbers give everyone in my family the same hair cut, me, my daughter and my son get pretty much the same thing no matter what we ask for. The price was attractive, unfortunately the barber smelled very strongly like smoke as he had just smoke a cigarette and didn't seem to wash his face or hands after. When using an electric razor to shave my neck he ran the thing across my skin so fast and hard that i thought he was going to tear our my jugular. Then he used a straight razor to trim the rest of the hair on the back and front of my neck and face without using any sort of shaving cream which again felt like I stuck my head into a sanding belt. Around my ears he created a high arch of no hair to make me look like a elf. In the end, with all the shaving he had done, i still had many missed or long hairs on the front of my neck, around my ears and on my face. I will not going back here again unfortunately. read more
