My kids will never know how lucky they are, ha ha! Sport Fair has just about everything except Tyr. I miss that brand but I love Speedo and Arena products just as much. The amount of stock is amazing, and the accoutrements are all there from special towels and goggles to training aids and drag suits. They might not carry every specialty item you dream of, but they carry a reasonable facsimile and as I like to say, all you need to do swimming is a suit and goggles. All that other stuff is just other stuff you gotta keep up with! I've ordered branded swim caps through Sport Fair and have been really happy with the quality. I've purchased training suits for me (the giant drag suits), goggles, swim caps, and suits for my kids. In particular I was thrilled to get toddler size speedo suits for my daughters so they don't have to wear Target bargains. If you want your kid to learn to swim, they have to enjoy it and being dragged to the bottom by a stupid tutu or other absurd sexist decoration on a toddler suit from target is not my idea of fun! So not only have I thought the suits from here to be more fun for my kids, but safer, too. Really pleased to have this gem in our community.

It was a Saturday and to be honest, the Springfield soma had just closed down; that's where I usually go. This store was super packed; the staff was overwhelmed. It took me 10 minutes to just get a fitting room and the biggest disappointment, is that no one was even around to help me. I love it when sales tries to upsell me by bringing other options to try on while I'm there trying on pieces. That never happened and they like cold have gotten another 100-200 bucks from me. Meh... Could have been an off day and understaffed that day. But soma will remain my fav. But I'll likely make the trip to Woodbridge soma store next time.

A few weeks later, I looked to see if there were any other suits on sale and the same suit I ordered that they told me was NOT available was on their site again and for sale. I ordered it, they confirmed my order, and then a week later, they emailed me telling me the item wasn't available AGAIN (even though my order was placed and confirmed). I had a great experience making my purchase and then my suit had a manufacturer's defect. I brought…read moreit back to the shop and the owner told me that, though it looked like a defect, she had no metric by which to trust I had properly cared for the suit. I explained my level of care, to which she reprimanded "I TELL EVERYONE NOT TO USE THE SWIMSUIT SPINNER." I replied that she had not, in fact, informed me. She then pointed to care instructions taped on the counter which I read carefully and pointed out that they mentioned nothing about the spinner at all - good or bad. She said my only recourse was to call the manufacturer myself. She provided the number and I called from in store. The TYR rep asked me the store name, and when I said Cy's she stated "they are a great customer, why aren't they helping you with this?" I repeated that I didn't understand why myself, but that was the situation. I was then told I needed to provide photos and proof of purchase. When I asked the owner to provide proof of purchase (we easily located my purchase in the system and it was less than 1 year old) she told me she didn't know how to do it. She printed a blurry screenshot and told me that was the best she could do. I then looked at the system and found the place to reprint a receipt. TYR was great - they reviewed the photos, immediately determined it was a defect, and sent me a replacement at no charge. I chose Cy's specifically because it was locally owned and (I thought) stood behind their product. I will never shop there again nor recommend it to a friend. This probably does not matter to them as, in the repeated words of the owner "we outfit dozens of swim teams," but the absence of customer service afforded to me as a customer with a defective item as well as the punitive exclamations were appalling and inexcusable.
