Over the last 4 years, we have been getting our fishing gear at this sporting goods store. They seem to have most of the items in stock and reasonable prices for almost everything that we need for fishing. The non-fishing apparel - caps, clothes, gloves are usually never on sale even though you can get a little of a discount for being a member. But that's about it, really. You hardly see brands like Columbia, Under Armour or others go on sale. Even when they have the annual tent sales during the Summer in August, hardly see things on sale that much. As for customer service, guess it depends on the days, because we have received mostly great to pretty bad and slow services on different days we have visited this store location in Fife, on occasion. We still shop for our fishing gear here as we like the selection and variety of items for different fishing seasons - Salmon, Steelhead and Trout. read more

I've been coming here for years, in fact I worked right next to them for 9 years. The customer service has always been easy to deal with. I had an issue just Tuesday and Kim in the shipping department took care of it for Ina timely manner & really showed up for me. Her customer service was top notch!! Thanks Kim for helping me out with my issue and making sure I didn't go this weekend without what I ordered! The value is good if you need extra deals I suggest ordering through Walmart. The folks at fishing counter are overworked and too busy or just plain rude you pick. The downrigger service is a blackmail service they will move you forward for a price. The store is disorganized with items split up so you have to walk further for impulse buys not costumer convenience and they have any veteran benefits no discount nor evan a parking spot yet they commonly park promo trucks right next to the front door. read more

Popped into Sportco on Wednesday to have new line spooled onto my Tekota reel for a charter trip the next day. Art was working behind the counter as usual and was super nice, super efficient, and just an all around great guy. Art quickly replaced my line with a smile and wished me luck. I put in an order 75701 and I received some cyrptic email that the order was on hold pending verification. I reponded to the email again authorizing the purchase. I did not received any other response. My credit card was charged (pending). I e-maild customer service and did not recieve a response. I checked my credit card and the charge was reversed. I belive that the marchdise with a price to good to be true was not in inventory, but the tranactiion went through this looks like a shody practice. Long time patron here, Sportco is Best sporting goods store in the area. Is actually a pro gun organization. Friendly staff. Good annual & events sales. One of the few retailers I visit these days. *The fife area code avoids some taxes on gun & ammunition purchases. Been a member for about 5 years. It's my only recommendation for guns. Only downside, is they don't have a great selection of women's *workwear, I always have to buy my lady's gear elsewhere. Great for the guys tho read more

Waited for assistance. Then waited for that associate to get assistance. Took them both together another forever to find someone who could take my order. Originally told me only one person from the the store can but he isn't in. I came back specifically on a day and time they said to return. Just kidding the manager actually can take the order. But they whole the originally told me 3-7 days, but it's really it's eight weeks. So frustrated that they wasted my time. Wanted to support a local business but I can get it online faster than they can apparently. Don't offer products you don't actually carry or have the reasonable ability to order. I went in today and bought a gun safe and got a really good price. Yesterday I bought 2 knives and received two $25 gift cards which I used for the safe. Horrible experience during the tent sale. I had already purchased my items and was standing next to the table with my cart and kid as my wife was purchasing another item. As my wife was walking back, a worker said I put something in the cart and accused us of not paying. We showed her the reciept and she just glanced through it and said she didn't see it. It was not until we went item by item and showed her everything was there. I understand people can steal during this time as everything is in the open, but accusing someone of putting something in the cart and then not taking time to actually look at the receipt to say I stole something is horrible customer service. Never got any apology from her just a thank you for being cooperative. read more

This store does not deserve the employees it has. They take advantage of people and overwork them without any care for their well being or their families. They specifically are ableist towards employees who are medically challenged and they play favorites to keep their own family employed. The store itself great. The service at Sportco is so great! I always work with the gun counter manager, Kelson! He's extremely knowledgeable and is always available each and everytime I go into Sportco. I am an avid gun collector and literally will not go anywhere else to purchase my firearms. Rather it's ammo, accessories or safes; they have it! Price is obviously everything and these guys prices are ALWAYS much less than their competitors in the area. Make sure you stop in and see what they have and ask be sure to ask for Kelson! I love Sportco so damn much. The only problem is that I never seem to be able to leave without spending lots of $$. From the fishing counter to the gun counter, all staff are super nice and helpful. It's easy to get lost in this place as it is a very large warehouse. They have a ton to offer and the prices are the most fair I have ever seen. This is a fun place for kids too if they are into outdoor activities. My boys (10 & 13) love to pick out new gear for fishing and camping. Keep your eyes open for their tent sales are they always have slammin' good deals. I should note I was super hard on them for having just about nothing in stock when COVID initially happened but I realize that supply chain issues and demand were contributing factors that were out of their control. They have definitely replenished their stock and it continues to be my favorite place to shop. read more

I ordered online a product that was advertised with pictures, description and visible quantity. I ordered 10 - 6.5 oz jars and received 12 1.1oz paper packages. So they swapped out what I ordered with a portion of what they advertised. Shipping was expensive for paper packages and now I have to go purchase 52 more oz of product. What a wide range in products and staff knowledge! I have stopped in here to look for Christmas gifts, fishing supplies, snow sports supplies, hunting supplies, and more. It seems some of the staff are very knowledgeable. For example, when we were looking for a silicon halibut lure to catch some cod, the staff member who helped us knew exactly where it was and gave us some helpful tips and shared stories with us. He made sure we had everything we could need before letting us go on our way. While some other staff members seem to just work here because it's a job. For example, we were looking at tactical rifles and asked some questions and the staff member helping us out knew less than we did and didn't know some basic rifle knowledge. When we explained we were looking for a tikka tactical long range rifle, he suggested light weight rifle that was designed a little more for hunting than long range precision. In other situation, I have asked to see benchmade knives and the staff member told me they don't have homemade knives for sale. I explained that benchmade is the brand name, he said they didn't have anything like that even though we were standing in front of the case of them. So, it's a real hit or a miss if you find someone who works there out of passion or someone who works there for a paycheck. Nothing wrong with either, I just prefer to be helped by someone who can help me more than a general gesture. read more

My wife tried to make a purchase at Sportco and was denied because she was not a listed member on the account (even though she's the one that pays for the membership). I was looking to purchase a shotgun. I had gone to Cabela's and as usual their service is absolutely horrible at the gun counter. After an hour of waiting and not even being acknowledged I left. I had some business in Fife, and decided to stop in at SPORTCO. I went to the gun counter and was immediately greeted by one of the staff. I told him what I was looking for. He apologized that he didn't have the shotgun that I wanted, but showed me a different one made by the same company. I looked it over and decided to purchase it. I did all the paperwork, and inside of 30 minutes (which included looking at ammo and other items) I purchased my shotgun. Went back the next day and purchased a Coach gun. Same great service and very minimal waiting time. These guys are great. I'll never go back to Cabela's. Thanks for great service SPORTCO!! I'll be back!! read more

I purchased my lower of my AR-15 from an online distributor. Like the rest of America I had to ship it to a licensed firearm dealer. Sportco gun counter was prompt in reaching out to me once my lower hit their database and to notifying that it was ready for pickup. Upon my arrival the whole background check and purchase process took me 20 min. I tried picking a conceal carry 9mm pistol from a local pawn shop let me tell you that will be my last time I stray away from using Sportco's services; worth every penny. read more

While waiting for order I get an email saying holding order for security review. I make a call to the company and get voicemail. I emailed and have yet to hear back. Sportco has tons of stuff for good prices. The prices are always fair and the selection is excellent. Inventory is tailored for Pacific Northwest fishing. The only downside is that the people who work here are not particularly knowledgeable. Some of them pretend to be while others are honest enough to admit that they are not experts. Used to be one of the best places in the South Sound to get your sporting good stuff, they have a good selection, but with other outdoor stores now open around here that dont require membership to save money, Sportco IMO needs to get with in the times, or they will end up out of business. The service here always has been friendly and prompt, the location is in the warehouse part of Fife- and in general is pretty easy to get in and out of. I personally though dont see the value of paying extra for membership, specially with Bass Pro shops now open. read more

You need to understand that SportCo will NOT take fishing rods back, even it's been used for one day and in excellent condition. Bass Pro and Cabela's have no problem with that. Sportco doesn't state their fishing rod return policy on the receipt and management said they don't need to let customers know that - pretty bold and rude I thought. Also you need to know it could be very frustrating because the front door person doesn't seem to know where you need to go to return stuff - check out counter, customer service or fishing section. Otherwise, they have a pretty decent selection of fishing and squidding gear and it might be worth a trip if you can't find stuff at other stores. read more
