This has been on my radar for awhile and finally got to try it the other day! We came around 6:30pm on a Monday and it wasn't busy, there were plenty of tables still available. This restaurant is more of a fast casual dining. You walk through an assembly line to build your own plate/bowl. But if you don't want to create your own, they do have a menu where you can choose one of their "Sportellis favorites" The employee recommended the "Pesto Presto" to me. I love Pesto but I was hesitant because it had balsamic glaze. She said it's her favorite part but offered to leave it off or even put it on the side so that I could try it. Surprisingly I actually enjoyed the balsamic glaze! The pesto and balsamic combo was really tasty! My husband got the "Nonnas Special" and he enjoyed it a lot! The Italian sausage was very yummy. The rest of our group also really enjoyed their meals. If you're looking for a yummy and fresh pasta place I Definitely recommend giving this place a try! read more

Unique setup for a pasta restaurant: you work your way down the line, selecting your sauce(s) and toppings for your pasta, which they mix or top for you. Salads and a few desserts are also available. They were awfully busy on a Friday night and I'm not sure I'd say the wait is worth it unless you really love pasta. There is only one pasta shape and it tastes very fresh and delicious, but everything else was just okay, in my opinion The garlic bread was a bit too garlic-y for our group and the strong smell of garlic in the restaurant is a bit off-putting. The salad we selected had three types of lettuces, Caesar dressing, and tasty croutons. Everyone who helped was really friendly but seemed a bit stressed and they didn't seem to have enough people assembling the pasta. If we go back, it would probably be for lunch and we'd probably choose the Rosa sauce, which is a mix of Alfredo and their red sauce. read more

Food: I got the "Nonnas Special" which surprised me for how organic it tasted. The meatballs are made by one of the staff and those were very well made as well. The pasta is a specific cut that allows the sauce to hold in smaller gaps so it didn't feel like there was a disproportion from pasta to sauce. The garlic bread that came with it was nearly perfect as well and it didn't overwhelm the dish with its size. They also put balsamic onto the dish which was extremely new to me and that really made the dish something special to remember. Sauce was great, obviously very organic and fragrant. I would have personally liked more basil or oregano to highlight the sauce more. This dish was a 8.1/10 (very strong, small things needed to make it better) Service was great, ran into an old friend who now works here! Amazing cook and hooked us up with some great suggestions for the future with the other dishes. Location/ambiance was great. Inside is clean, great AC temp with how hot it has been lately. I know this place has been around for a while but if you told me this place opened up a month ago, I would believe you in terms of how clean and new things look. read more

So sorry to say this, but I just don't get all the 5 star reviews! I was disappointed and the food was just whatever to our party of 5. The noodles were overcooked and super rubbery. For all the toppings, the flavor was just lacking and did not taste like a lot of seasonings were used. Nothing was flavorful. It looks a lot better than it tastes. I personally make much better pasta at my home. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be returning or recommending. read more

It is a rare find when our family goes to a restaurant and everyone will actually eat!Sportelli's is an absolute gem! There's literally something for everyone... And we will definitely be back! When we walked into the restaurant, we didn't realize that they actually weren't open yet! The staff were super kind and let us order a few minutes before they opened. The space was bright and clean and very inviting. The food? Unbelievable! My husband and I built our own salads, and they were absolutely enormous... I had a hard time finishing, but I prevailed! For the price, the kids meals are a ton of food and all of my girls ended up taking their extras home and enjoy enjoying them the next day. The desserts should not be skipped! Checked out Sportelli's with a friend and it did not disappoint! The location has just the most beautiful interior and when the sun hits just right everything glows. Our server was still learning the ropes and that was just fine. I did feel like the young guy teaching her could've been kinder to her, especially in front of customers. My friend ordered the Sportelli's Salad & I got the Tuscan Toss and a Cannoli. These salads are huge! I knew mine came with a Burrata, but I was thinking it'd be small like the size of a clementine but no...it was the size of large orange! I'm definitely not complaining about that. I thought all of the flavors really worked well together and they even asked me about the amount of dressing I'd like which was great. The cannoli was made fresh for me and it was good too, just not quite as epic as that salad though. My one recommendation would be to get larger water cups, I had to get up 3 times to refill my cup. This place is definitely one of a kind. It's like a chipotle where you pick everything out individually. They have some menu items but ultimately you can build your own dish. It's one kind of pasta and choice of red or white sauce and many toppings. The wife and I tried the chicken Alfredo and I did a custom and all of it was great. I highly recommend this place for a quick and easy meal for a great price. Ps. The portions are large. The girls behind the counter are very nice and encourage you try new things. So many good things about this restaurant. First, I love the casual style similar to Costa Vida, and the ambiance is cozy and cute inside. I have been twice now to Sportelli's. Both times have been delicious. The Mama Mia piadina/wrap is honestly one of the best things I have ever tasted. You come in and the restaurant has a casual but cozy vibe great for any occasion. Then you notice an extruder- meaning they make their own pasta on site! Everything from scratch! We are really confused by all the five-star reviews here. Who is writing these? We read them as we road-tripped into Salt Lake City from Las Vegas. I wish they didn't fool us into trying this place. This is NOT an artisan fresh pasta place, as advertised. This is basically a Chipotle-style setup, but with Pizza Hut ingredients. Everything is pre-cooked and you just build a take-out container of pasta with whatever sauces or toppings you want. But at the end of the day, the quality and taste isn't even Pizza Hut level. The only slightly redeeming aspect was that it was not very expensive for a pretty large portion size. I guess it works if you're trying to buy a homeless person a meal, is really the only context where I can see this place working. When we travel, we like to try out new places, support local businesses, etc., but last night, we should have just gone to the Cane's down the block. read more

Really great idea but I wanted the execution to be a little better! The food was really yummy but it could have been more organized and clean. From what I had heard about Sportellis I thought it would be a little bit higher end. It kind of felt like a place for BYU students to get a big portion of food. The staff were really nice though!
