The curry pie was amazing! We came as they opened on a Sunday at noon. The owner was there cleaning the deep fryers and so we weren't able to order any cheese fries. Was disappointing. They had front and back door open while they were cleaning it and it was freezing! You couldn't sit in the restaurant to eat. Not good business practice to do this during business hours! Absolutely obsessed with this place. I got the cream pie, bulgogi pie, creamy basil pasta, strawberry banana milk, blue lemonade, and a slice of strawberry chocolate cake. Everything tasted homemade and full of flavor--the pies especially. That crust was insanely flaky, and the creamy basil pasta was rich and comforting. The strawberry banana milk was super fresh, and the blue lemonade was sparkling, which was such a fun surprise. Only miss was the cake--it was a little dry, but definitely didn't ruin the meal. Service was great! Moon helped us out with recommendations and was super friendly. The restaurant is small (seats about 36), but it's clean, cozy, and doesn't feel cramped. Prices were slightly high for the area, but the quality made it worth it. I'll 100% be back--especially with their late hours. Midnight comfort food like this is a win. read more

PoPIE recently opened in American Fork. It's owned by a Korean, so much of their food is Korean/Asian-styled, such as the Bulgogi meat pie and K-Spicy pasta. I got the Cream pie, which was one of their more popular items. It was tasty with a flaky crust, but considering the size, I didn't think it's worth $7.95. The cream filling was good, but nothing exceptional. I tried the Seafood Risotto as well. I was a bit disappointed. Having had risotto quite a few times and watched culinary class wars, I had high expectations of risotto. I wouldn't call this a risotto by the texture of the rice. I did enjoy the rose sauce very much though. It had a fair amount of bay scallops in it. I probably won't get the risotto again, because I mostly liked the sauce, which I could buy from Hmart myself. I order from here frequently and love the tastes and the items but I recently ordered some drinks and took the time to wait almost an hour for it just for half the order to be made wrong. The order the second time is completely wrong and then the delivery of it was messed up. That may not be their fault but I tried to call and reach out to get some solution and the number doesn't even take the call. The quality of the drink they made the another time was compromised the more I ordered, chunky ice melting inside with the fruits instead of separated smooth drink, and this time they just gave the wrong order. Can't get my compensation back and wasted an hour waiting just to be hugely disappointed for the quite expensive drinks prices that I paid for. read more

I bookmarked this place from Yelp hunting late one night and I was happy that it didn't disappoint when I was able to go. The location is okay but inside was clean and bright. The staff were super friendly and helpful, I throughly enjoyed when they brought out our food to the table and chatted a bit. I was also happy to eat on real dishes and not have so much waste. I love places like that. The food was super good. I loved my risotto so much and plan to return again for more. Each bite was so happy, creamy and flavorful. Holy pie crust! They are not kidding when they say their meat pie crust is crispy and flaky, because it is that and delicious as well. I had the bulgogi meat pie. They use pork instead of beef, so I was expecting something like spicy pork bulgogi. The inside is closer to japchae than bulgogi, because of the glass noodles and mushrooms. It tasted terrific, but it was not the pork bulgogi I know and love. I also had the burrata salad and that was excellent. The man who took our order was attentive, friendly, and answered all my questions with a big smile. You order at the counter, but the food is brought to your table, and they also bus your table. I would have to say that the music was kind of annoying. I like funk as much as the next GenXer, but we were there for a while so by the end I did not want any more of that funk--but that's a personal choice. I'll be back for the flaky crust and to try other fillings, but I wish they had more Korean-inspired fillings. read more

Such a cute little Korean fusion spot! I really enjoyed the unique flavors and appreciate how everything was made in-house, including the dressings/sauces. I cannot stress this enough - do not skip the pies! The pies are AMAZING! They come out nice and warm. The dough is so soft and flaky, and the fillings are so flavorful. The ratatouille pie is my FAVORITE! Amazing flavors packed into a nicely sized pastry pie - so good. The sweet potato cheese sticks are extremely unique! They are served with ranch. This entire dish may sound like an odd combination but trust me, it works! The flavors complement each other very well together - definitely a unique fusion dish. The seafood risotto is spectacular. So tasty and soft. The apple salad is quite sizable! I got it with the pineapple dressing. The k-spicy pasta has so many different ingredients in it - fries, sausage, tteokbokki, cheese, and of course, pasta. If you don't like spice, don't worry - it is quite tamed :) Again, another unique fusion dish that tasted great. All in all, I will be returning. I actually hope to cater from them soon. Stopped in because it looked new and interesting - we loved everything we tried, even the waffle fries! Our favorite thing was the tri-tip risotto - soooo good and I love that the steak (which was tender and flavorful) was sliced and laid on top instead of mixed in to the risotto. We also tried the seafood risotto which had lots of shrimp and calamari in every bite. The two pies were also yummy - I think overall we preferred the Cream chicken over the bulgogi pie (which was the dish that actually made us come in and try this place) but they were both delicious and something we'd order again and again. On top of the yummy lunch, the service was top notch - she found oatmilk for a non-dairy version of my strawberry matcha latte and even treated us to a complimentary Christmas salad for Christmas Eve, which hit the spot. He was incredibly personable and caring, wanting to make sure I had enough water for my long drive and patient when I indecisively changed my order. Furthermore, he provided me with further recommendations for my journey, which was much appreciated! I tried the beef bulgogi pie and while it was tasty, I didn't think about something with heat to accompany it until after I had left. While the pie was tasty, and the salad was fresh, the atmosphere is lacking and there is a limited drink selection (no free refills). Tender and flaky and delicious, the fillings were both very tasty. When you walk in, you can actually smell food cooking. I didn't taste anything that gave me"pre-made" or out of a package. My sister LOVED the bulgogi pie it wasn't my style I think the flavors of the meat with the puff pastry was definitely unique but I think I just prefer bulgogi with rice haha. We tried three different pies: the Cream Pie (wild name choice in the age of the internet), a curry pie, and a bulgogi pie. The pastry on all of them was really good - flaky and crisp with nice seasoning that wasn't too salty or boring. The fillings were tasty too. The Cream Pie is basically chicken and mushroom, probably the most traditional option, and it had a nice balance of flavors. The curry pie tasted like Japanese curry to me, with a decent kick - not bland but not going to destroy anyone who can't handle spice. The bulgogi pie was my husband's favorite, though I personally find the Korean flavors were a bit weird with the pastry. I saw someone say it's pricey for what you get, but I was pretty full after and thought it was fair for the amount of food you get. Overall, it's a fun twist on regular pies and the quality is there.
