Sporting Arms Gun Range is located in Posen IL, and it is across the street from the Smiths mobile homes. It's pretty difficult to find because the sign is so small. They have a private parking lot. The building is very tiny, and it consists of 7 shooting lanes. It was maintained very well and clean. The staff didn't appear to be very friendly, but I had a decent experience here. There are better shooting ranges, so I probably wouldn't return. read more

Been going to Sporting Arms for quite a while now (At least a decade) and they've always been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. You pick a good quiet day and you will not regret it. Although they charge hourly when it's quiet/not busy they don't bother you. I recommend Sporting Arms to anyone looking to enjoy a decent day at the range. read more

The staff was very helpful. One guy was nice enough to show me how to disassemble my gun for cleaning. Although he wasn't familiar with my gun he took the time to look at a video to figure it out and show me. I really appreciated it. It's a older, simple range but the prices are fair and I always have a good experience when I come here. read more

Don't come here with advanced expectations, this is an older, nostalgic gun range and shop. it's a laid back OG type of shooting range. It gives off John Wayne vibes, The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. I came here tonight with my class not sure what to expect. Parking lot is super tight, try to carpool or coordinate to find parking. The Gun selection is priced appropriate and they have some nice pieces. Instruction booths / ranges are tightly packed next to one another. but somehow you feel comfortable and confident maybe from the setup of being in business 25+ years. read more

I have been going to this Range for over 15 years. I took a 40 hour Security Training Course at 10922 So. Western in Chicago and this was the Range they used for Firearm qualification. I have purchased 4 Firearms from them and now use this Range for my CCW class qualifications. The Owner and staff are very knowledgeable regarding all Firearms/makes and models. They can answer any question on ammo, firearm issues, and can recommend firearms depending on your need as a customer. Staff is pleasant, helpful and this is the only Range that I use for myself and for my CCW classes. I prefer a smaller Range, this place is clean, easy access, and practice excellent Firearm safety! read more

I have been coming here for over 6 years and this is a clean range with great ventilation. Has 7 lanes staff is great they stick to bussiness which is understandable after all this is a gun range not a picnic area and who nos what nut cup is coming in.So don't expect any gun range to roll out a red carpet for you. I just bought a new Glock 19 at another gun store and went here to test it out. Upon having a few rounds left the smell of marijuana crossed my nose. I turned back to see if anyone else noticed. (which EVERYONE DID) A FEW minutes later I was done and back at the sales counter. I addressed the issue with the 2 guys at the counter and they said they smelled it as well but still let them use the range. In my opinion that was a very bad decision to let someone shoot that just finished smoking weed. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING THERE IF THEY ARE GOING TO LET PEOPLE USE THE RANGE WHILE HIGH!!! If I could give negative 5 stars I would. Be very careful using their range. read more

The guy behind the counter (Terry, I think) was polite and answered all of my questions. They don't rent firearms here and the shop is pretty small. - The 75 ft. indoor range rate is $14 per shooter. There's no 2nd shooter discount but they're not too strict on time unless there are people waiting to shoot...or probably if you're just trying to camp in there all day. - Terry advised that the range is busiest during the weekends which is to be expected. - The last range entry is 45 minutes before closing. - Ammo (if it's in stock) is a bit expensive but not gouging like some other places I've heard about. This range isn't in the best area but the entire place including the parking lot is completely fenced in so there shouldn't be anyone walking around in there that doesn't belong. I went to the pistol range during the week in the afternoon and there was no line. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will go there again... read more

I was just here not even an hour ago and I had a wonderful time. It's not too far out of the way for me, the area seems decent enough, the guy behind the counter was nice, and even the fellow shooters were really friendly! Plus I love how I was able to use my shotgun there with bird shot or deer slugs. Definitely plan on coming here again in the near future. read more

This is an no frills old fashioned shooting range, well kept, knowledgeable staff with a very reasonable fee at $14. With the exception of times when classes are qualifying for CC you can get right in. The selection of firearms is limited but for shooting purposes I highly recommend Sporting Arms. read more

I come here at least once a month. Good, easy going folks here and a small, but excellent range perfect for an hour or two of target shooting. I've fired my pistols, carbines, .22 rifle, shotguns, Desert Eagle .50 AE, you name it. Brought all my friends and had many nice little training sessions here. read more

Small selection of firearms, and fairly poor lighting on the range, but otherwise great little place with a nice staff.

Good safe place! Clean, great lighting, realistic hours for people that don't carry a badge. You can practice with your handgun or shot gun. The only knock I have is that the ammo prices are high. read more
