It's difficult for me to fathom how they fumbled our experience so bad. Anyone with even remote competence and business sense could have resolved what originally began as a minor issue, but was escalated into a 30 minute ordeal with the manager. Let me start from the top. I show up to meet with some friends who were already in the range. I hadn't spoken to them yet, was checking in alone, but later found out they had similarly poor experiences. Anyway, first time, they make me watch a video and sign some documents, that's fine. Not usually required at a range, but fine no big deal. Once finally complete I go to get ammo and join my friend's party. Ken is the cashier. He is incredibly determined to sell the membership, which is $50/mo. I overheard his shpiel to the preceding customer while I was signing everything, it was not an interesting offer to me personally. So when he started to go into it with me, I politely declined and told him the truth which is that Midwest gun range is closer to my house and offers their unlimited membership for $30/mo. He then doubles down on how I'll save 2% on ammo at their place and as he's talking I realize he's trying to convince me that somehow buying $1000/mo worth of ammo to save $20 is going to make it worth it? Anyway I'm in sales so I get it. It's a tough job and so again I politely and firmly decline. I believe this genuinely upset him though. Perhaps because I was being kind and expressing sympathy. In reflection, as his character unraveled, it seemed he was frustrated that I was so nice and that he couldn't take advantage of it. Anyway, I'm eager to join my friends who were 10 min ahead of me, which means the clock was already ticking. I told Ken I was there to see my friends and to add me to their lane. He rings me up, I tap my card, prints receipt, he hands it back and immediately I notice it's double the price, he charged me for my own individual lane rather than joining my friends. He says oh, now you'll have your own lane next to your buddies. I'm like okay, but that's not what I asked for, Sorry if that wasn't clear, Can you please refund this and charge me the amount to join their lane? And this is where I start to get frustrated. Because he starts spewing some bs answer about how it can't be refunded. And I'm like, that's literally bogus, I didn't ask for this. I'm not okay with this, please just void the transaction. I swear to god this dude then starts telling me how the clock on my lane already started, and once it starts it can't stop, so I have to get out there and use it. I was like dude are you f'in serious I haven't even stepped into the range yet and I told you within 3 seconds of the transaction. And so then he says he needs a higher up to do the refund and I'm like okay, yes. He goes for a lap before going into the office and then comes back with another guy who I'm pretty sure was another cashier lol. This guy starts giving me the same shtick. I'm not even raising my voice but my bs detector was going through the roof. So I persist, and magically after this has gone on for a painful amount of time, they concede and give me my refund. As I was walking away, this dude says, "you know I deal with people like you all day long. You said you wanted your own lane then changed your mind, just admit it". I'm like dude, that means you're the common link, and you're a psychopath for blaming this on me. Anyways, to the management, I hope this is a wake up call to investigate the kind of impressions your frontline employees are leaving on your audience, or else the culture is rotten from top to bottom. I'm honestly so frustrated. Over a year ago, my whole family of five signed up for a membership at Range USA. When we signed up, the staff never said anything about a limit on how many people we could bring. We all got in for free, no problem. We visited multiple times as a family, and nobody ever mentioned any extra fees. And we paid $50 a month for the membership for over a year. Then suddenly, on our most recent visit--our sixth time there--they tell us, "Oh, actually, your membership only allows one free guest. If you bring more, it's $12 per person." WHAT?! I told them no one ever told us that, and their response was, "Well, no one told you that you could bring more than one person either." Like... what kind of logic is that? When you see a group of more than two people come in repeatedly and never say anything, how are we supposed to know there's a guest limit? Shouldn't that have been made very clear at the beginning? I even asked, "What about the $70/month plan? Does that allow more guests?" (Because recently, we came with three people each time.) And they said, "Nope, same rule. Doesn't matter what plan you have." This whole experience has been so disappointing. If we had known this from the start, we never would've signed up. We canceled the membership, asked for a refund for this month (it's literally the beginning of August), and of course, they said no. Unbelievable. read more

The store is clean, staff is very friendly. I had a membership for over 2 years and going to the range at least 3 times a month which was great but on several occasions I left early after being either hit with casings from the person next to me or high powered guns which shot flames across my lane. I had brought that up to management and also wrote to corporate that they need to extend the side walls between shooters to keep everyone safe from that. Well Corporate sent me an email that was nothing more than BS and excuses. So I canceled my membership and now go elsewhere to shoot. It is a shame because they do have plenty of locations and the stores are clean. Maybe after someone does get hurt that they will finally fix that issue. read more

This was not our first time at this range. We have been there a few times before and have had good experiences up until today. The transaction started off pleasant enough, my wife and I purchased 2 range passes, targets, and I picked up 3 new Glock mags, to the tune of over 140.00. While we were paying for the range time and mags, I opened the magazines and removed them from the packaging. I asked Oscar H. if I could give him the packaging as there was a garbage can behind the counter. He responded by telling me"no, I'm not a garbage can. But there is a can at the end of the counter." I found this to be incredibly rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. I simply thanked him for his time gathered my things and went to our lane. Oscar cost you guys a couple customers today. read more

It was my 2nd time coming here and my friend's 1st time. The guy named Jose( older guy) was very dismissive and not helpful when we asked about guns, ammo and what we needed to shoot. I'm not experienced so I asked questions. He made my friend and I uncomfortable (for example) when we asked "which gun would be good for a first time shooter?" He just shrugged his shoulders and just looked down at some 9MM. He obviously wasn't trying to help and didn't seem to want to be there. We also came across him in the shooting room and the way he talked to some guys there was very aggressive and unprofessional. He screamed at them about how fast they were shooting and said" if you don't like it, don't come back here ever again." That was so uncomfortable, awkward and unnecessary. I wasn't aware you can't shoot fast either ( not that we did shoot fast) so I learned bc even with those things on our ears we heard him screaming aggressively. Jose will be the reason I will never go back there. I'll spend my $176.57 somewhere else. Not worth what I spent there to be treated so poorly. If Jose wasn't knowledgeable then he should have directed us to someone who could have helped us. Terrible, VERY rude nasty people. WAY too expensive, targets are 200x the price of other ranges, most ranges targets are 15 cents, here targets are $10 and they ad even more fees for no reason. First time doing this, but this is an earned bad review to show how the manager Alex E. didn't inform nor work with me as a person or a manager. These guys were having an online sale before Christmas. I wanted to buy myself a shotgun, but thought it would be the perfect gift for my uncle (has foid) since Xmas is 2 weeks from now. Gun gets shipped and arrives to their store. I come to pick it up and do paperwork. The manager Alex E. Was helping me through the paperwork. When asked on paper what the gun's for, I put "buying for an uncle who has a foid as a gift". I noticed Alex's demeanor was off putting and I asked is this not legal or frowned upon for me to do? After all im legally buying a weapon for an immediate family member who also can purchase weapon. Me Not knowing that it's apparently illegal to do that now, Alex says "yea shouldn't be a problem". He runs my background check and then it says it's pending for some reason. So I have to wait, a couple days later they call to deny me the shotgun and refund me. I came in and Alex finally told me that it's not allowed to do that, and I argued why he wouldn't tell me that. Can't buy the weapon for myself now either. I legitimately wasted my time here. The WORST shopping experience! I came in to inquire about a firearm, which I was assured was in stock. I placed the order, which also said it was in stock, no more than 5 minutes after. 72 hours later, I'm told that the firearm has to be ordered through a distributor, with a delivery estimate of next week at the bare minimum! I would save myself the trip and go anywhere but a franchise whose inventory system seems to have been made by a 2 year old. In the 10+ years of inventory experience I have, I've never seen such a messy system in place. Thank you so much Range USA!!! Edit: they much rather blame the customer than their employees for falsely giving inventory. They continue to say the firearm was sold within minutes when there was NOBODY at the range. I have been to this range, but not since Covid. I live in Chicago where the powers that be think providing ammunition to us will keep us alive a little longer. In the past I have used the range which was fine and bought a hand gun. I needed ammo and read some of the nasty reviews and questioned whether I should buy it from them. I decided to take a chance. I came in at 10:15 am and looked at the ammo cases which were locked. I looked at the man behind the counter and said I needed some and he asked what I needed, got it and had me out the door in 10 minutes. I was only sorry that I did not have any of my guns or I would have used the range. Yelpers, this place is fine and their prices are okay especially if you consider there is immediate availability and no shipping charge. Just use your head and no not complain if you have to wait if you come in at a busy time. Try coming in at off hours. read more

I decided that I needed a smaller handgun. I recently, read the reviews. I am so impressed with the knowledge of the staff. No questions asked was unanswered. I was treated with patience, and respect. There are quite a few of gentlemen, with the name Ed. All of them I pretty much came in contact with, one way or the other. So helpful.. After, selecting the gun, I had read so many great reviews about instructor, (Ed) lo and behold. Ed saw that I was struggling with the slide. He had me as he instructed, on how to position my hands, and fingers, and to hold my arms up to my pectoral. What a wonderful person. Thanks to all of you for making my day. read more

Let it be known that I have never touched a firearm in my life and was really nervous using the shooting range and even having the opportunity to shoot a target for the first time too. Everyone here is very professional, and I never felt so secure in a store full of guns. Even some of staff had guns. They definitely take safety serious here so don't act like a fool. After using the shooting range, I felt more manly inside, I love guns more than ever especially the mnp2215... They have all sorts of (domestic) firearms here on sale. Well as of lately the service is going down hill! I went twice during the time of the COVID and was treated horribly, the first time a young lady with glasses greeted me with.. we don't have time for lookie loo's so if you not going to buy anything you might as well not come in! The 2nd Time was on 06/20/20 during the morning. I asked to see a red dot that I saw advertised on line for $100 and I was quoted $140 for the same item.. So I asked Tiffany (who was helping me) if she couldn't give me the online price and she told me no. I then asked for a manager who happened to be sitting a few feet away on a computer to help out, and he said I don't have time right now.. . When he looked up and saw I was within ear shot he says The online price is online only! That's the store price and I can't reduce it! I just thought it was rude to treat a long time customer like crap.. I've bought two fire arms here, used them as an FFL on an online purchase, taken two courses through this facility and used the range on numerous occasions. I understand we're going through tough times with the COVID. I work in the service world, I have to work directly with walk in customers and that's not how we treat ppl at my place of business.
