This business has always been a wonderful destination for me when my wife and I travel to Las Vegas from Arizona. Last visit was not so nice. After driving 1.5 hours we wanted a restroom. An employee said restrooms are closed and will be converted to more sales space. Customers must find another business that will allow use of their restrooms. I have had nothing but awful experiences at this location. I have not been in her in over 6 months. I stopped for one item. I really had to use the rest room, so I headed there first. They now have a keypad lock on the restrooms. I walk to the gun counter nearby where I see 1 (ONE) employee and 12 customers. That guy in a rarity appears to be working. I started looking down Isles for an employee to let me in. Not finding any. I finally see an employee pop out of an isle and walk to the employee side of the gun counter. He's wearing a manager shirt too. I politely ask before he can get locked in with another customer. "Excuse me, can I get into the rest room?" Looks at me and says "I'm actually on lunch" and walks away. The rest room is 30' to his left. Refuses to help. I know "he's entitled to his lunch" well that's what I am told yet I am expect to in that scenario help the customer. November 4th visit around 4 P.M. Review #63 of 2023 Great service from some of the staff, ok service from cashier, and nonexistent service from others. Many reviewers and people that I know have shared varied experiences at this location. I expected one variety, but not all three in the same visit. Regardless, I was able to locate some target ammunition that I was in the market for at the last minute. Nice selection, and decent prices, despite the fact that I could potentially get it cheaper online with delivery. I was just in need of it at the moment. When I first arrived, I had asked a worker where the magazines and ammunition was located, and she direct me to the spot. No problem in the area, I was looking for someone to help me find a specific magazine, but the help was nonexistent and those that were available Walked away promptly. At the end of the visit, the cashier was complaining to me about my daughter having a cell phone. She then went on to complain that she didn't have a cell phone when she was her age, OK, I get it, you're born in the Flintstones era. I get the stigma behind it, but for me, I use it to track her location which is my safety feature. I went there for a specific product, not a parenting lesson. This is a store. That's cool for a last-minute selection, but not for unsolicited life lessons. read more

The Henderson location, much like the Las Vegas location, is severely lacking in employees. The firearms department, which I use only when I am out of other options, is a prime example of this. In a day when everyone is looking to buy a firearm, you would think they would have more than three employees on duty. Especially when it takes roughly forty-five minutes to pick up a purchased firearm. If three people are picking up firearms, which is not uncommon, you are going to be waiting a very long time because multitasking is not a required skill of the Sportsman staff. The only plus about this store is that they do have a solid inventory. Just don't ask for help locating what you are looking for. read more

Could be great. But isn't. This place has slowly turned into Walmart of the outdoor world. Good luck getting any associate to help you in the store. They'll just walk by and not make eye contact. Their online ordering for pickup is a joke- you'll order, get an email saying "ready for pickup". You'll show up and the staff will spend 20 mins not having any idea what you're talking about and staring at our phone in confusion. Eventually someone will just go get the item off the shelf and you can go. Their gun optics are a joke- after 25 mins you'll eventually get someone to help you, but then you'll discover that none of the optics have batteries because "people leave them on and they die"- yes- even the optics that are rated to be left on for 5 years on a single battery. So you'll be able to hold the optic, but never actually see it operate. The price will also be 10-20% higher for what you can find online". Their online stock isn't accurate. Or the store just doesn't know where to find stuff. Went to look at an optic that showed numerous in stock online. After the guy behind the counter couldn't find it, the manager walks up (acting like I'm wasting his valuable time to purchase a $1000 optic) and says "if it's not on display we don't have it". Glad I didn't order it online for pick up. All in all, this place could be decent if they ran the store well. But with the price, selection and ability to buy anything on the internet, waiting 2 days for delivery isn't that bad. read more

Because it was not in sellable condition. Now mind you, me and my husband have been in the process of moving and I did not believe he needed the box anymore so I threw it away while cleaning. Spent two hours assembling my order with hunting rifle, scope, spotting scope and a new side arm with. Super nice dude helped us for 95% of the time and he was really helpful. Experience started well but to check out it took at least 20 mins to get a manager come help with the Credit Card Application applying for a new store card for the 15% discount. Go through background checks, complete credit application and am preparing to check out finally and was confused by the totals. I asked for my total and wasn't given this information and was only presented with a partial total of what I was leaving with that day. To confuse matters further I was being asked to pay with a different credit card any amount over $1000 which I was confused by as the application said I was approved for $10k total. In asking for further help to understand all the balances Dave the special customer service agent began asking if he should cancel my order. I said no and asked about the 15% discount for the credit card and where was that discount being applied? Was it being applied to the guns that I was not being charged for? The reason I was getting the credit was to get a discount on the guns. Dave begins to tell me we have that discount. I don't see it and he says it's the $50 discount shown. He then arrogantly states that is clearly reads $50 limit in the pamphlet clearly right on the front page which it did not. He then searched further for a minute and found that statement buried in the pamphlet for the credit card. Instead of understanding my confusion as a consumer Dave began telling me he was cancelling my order and I needed to leave the store. I am still in shock at this point and confused. I ask to speak to a manager and he refuses and tells me I need to leave the store. At this point I called him the epitome of a Douche Bag and expressed my confusion with his poor customer service. He took a first time customer sale of $3000 that was at 99% completion which had an approved $10k line of credit and turned them into a consumer who will never spend a dime with Sportmans again and will tell at minimum 10 people (or a million;) about the poor experience. Tried to order online through them. Went to do my background check when my item finally showed. Was told everything looked good and i would hear back 3-10 business days. There was an issue apparently with my background check questions. Instead of calling me to let me know they just didnt run my background check. Still charged me though. After 8 days of not hearing from them i finally called and was informed because of the issue they didnt run the background check. When asked why no one informed me the person said theyre not exactly sure. Got a full refund and went to Spurlocks instead. Way better experience. Went in there to shop around for clothing and hiking shoes and I had to use the bathroom. As someone prone to infections when holding in my urine and having a medical condition for it, I approached who I thought was the manager of the hunting department. This older, heavy set white man proceeded to not even look at me and tell me it was going to be a "few minutes" for him to give me a code or to go to Jersey Mikes and Dominos across the street. His disgusting demeanor was thrown at me because I wasn't waiting for the guns behind him, but I obviously had other things in my hand I was going to purchase. He again told me if I wasn't waiting to look at guns I needed to go across the street. I hope his know it all mentality and entitlement doesn't land him or the business in trouble for ADA violations. A large bag of Hot and Spicy quality Sportsman's Warehouse Beef Jerky sells for $6.99! Yes, you heard me, I know it's like unheard of right!! Well I took advantage of the opportunity and purchased two bags and the amazement didn't stop...5% military discount on top of that. the only redeeming qualities for this location are the flat rate background check fee and that the store is clean. Gun counter is always a mess it always takes over an hour to even be seen. most employees are just talking and hanging out while customers wait and most end up leaving. I arrived at 12:25pm and the number counter was at 37... it is now 1:10 and it's on number 39. there's only 1 person at the counter while the other is putting price tags while the line racks up. if you have all the time in the world then it's a good place to buy your firearms but if you have less than 2 hours don't bother there's plenty of gun shops in town that can help at a faster pace with actual employees that want to help. read more

This review is based off my gun purchase experience. Before entering Sportman's I called around for local gun shops because I wanted to put my money in smaller busineses, and sometimes they have better discounted guns BUT the main reason I stepped into Sportsman's is because of the quick background check. They said it takes about a day for most occasions and I wanted a new gun to shoot for memorial day weekend. All the other firearm shops said around 3,4 days, one even said a week. So I'm glad I was led here. I came in on saturday about 2pm and stood in line. There are two lines, one for sales, the other for gun pick up and ccw holders. I've been researching 3 rifles I could want and they actually had the one that is at the top of my list. Looked at it for 2 seconds, and "I'LL TAKE IT" just blurts out. Lol. I'm like a kid at the candy store. The guy who helped me had ok customer service, pretty monotone, and if I hadn't kept bugging him and asking questions, I probably, would've settled for something I didn't want. Very important to do your research before going in. The gun manager (Tony) on the other hand was so friendly and informative. He definitely needs to train the other workers on customer service. But i get it, gun sales been very crazy and hectic. I paid for the $25 background check, taking a chance on the wait time for it to come back. If you have a CCW you don't need to do a background check. Did the paperwork on an ipad, which they sanitize after each customer use. You don't pay for the gun until your background check clears and when you pick up the gun. To my surprise they called me at 6pm that day saying my gun is ready to be picked up! Wow! I was so happy. I should've went in earlier because by that time, the gun dept closed its line. Sunday, I go in to pick up the gun. Waited a long time, almost an hour. But that was ok, my gun will be in my hands. Double checked everything, signed for it, then paid at the cashiers up front. As for the ladies running the cashier, they were SO friendly. No pressure to buy gun services although the computer prompts them. I read other reviews about a guy working the cashier who was unfriendly, yes he's there. Lol. But overall experience, I couldn't be happier, got ma' gun! read more

So after I had to call their corporate Hq back, though they said they would call me, I was essentially told by the "supervisor" that they won't do anything at all. They won't honor the prices that were tagged on their shelves, there was no apology for their store manage sending their loss prevention person after me, absolutely NOTHING was done. The "supervisor" said it is up to the store if they want to match the price but they don't have to do when I asked how corporate can say that for a business who's stores are NOT independently owned and operated, the lady at HQ says nothing in response. I even tried to return unopened items and the guy looked over them extremely thoroughly for about 5 minutes like I opened them and then was returning them. This was AFTER I told him I bought three pairs and they didn't fit my kids (ear protection), so I was returning two of the three. This store on Marks Street is HORRIFIC and Corporate isn't any better. If you go to Sportsman's, be prepared for a bait and switch and for them to NOT honor anything. I walked in to this store 2 years ago to buy some fresh water fishing gear. I am an experienced open water angler and spear fisherman but am clueless to fresh water fishing. When I walked in to this highly stocked and diverse fishing section, Aaron greated me and helped me find the gear I needed for a fishing trip through Utah. Instead of just selling me the gear, he took the time to show me all the different options and let me make my own decisions. He even spent time teaching me how to set up bait that I had never used before. I was very appreciative and caught a lot of fish on the trip. Fast forward 2 years... I am back in Vegas getting ready for another fishing trip. This time through Utah and Colorado. I have decided to up my game and learn to fly fish. Again, Aaron was there to assist me and spent a lot of time showing me all the proper fly fishing equipment and taught me how to set up my fly reel. When helping me choose bait, he was very detailed and explained to me the use for each piece. In case I failed terribly in my new fly fishing adventure, I also bought an Abu Garcia baitcaster and some Rapalas which he once again helped me pick. I am extremely happy with my experiences at Sportsmans Warehouse and highly recommend that you speak with Aaron or Kevin who is just as knowledgeable, friendly and outgoing. Most of these customers are CCW holders standing in line to to pay for a background check not once at the gun counter but twice at customer service counter for a background check when they don't even need to ?!!!! WAIST OF TIME! Maybe 5-6 people in line and I had to stand in line for 2 hours to look at a gun Offered to pay for it while back ground check was done so I can pick it up when I return. Well I ordered a rifle online, got the email stating it was ready to be picked up at the store. So living an hour and a half away I called the store and asked if I would be able to pick up the rifle the same day, I was assured it would not be a problem. So I drove the hour and a half up to Henderson when I walked to the back of the store to the gun counter there were two employees working and about 15 people waiting to be helped. So I took a number and waited and waited and waited. When my number finally got called I went up to the counter and was told to come back in a couple days when my background check comes back even though I have a NCIS voluntary appeal file for a quick background check process. I am writing this review with conflicted emotions. First there was a problem. I went to get the problem corrected. Although I thought the problem was corrected, it was not. The conflict occurs because "I went fishing," and how could I let my dissatisfaction ruin my trip. Then I was refunded. So, there lies the conflict. My story is as follows! On Wednesday morning I brought in 6 fishing reels to be re-spun with fresh line. We were leaving Thursday at 2:30 am for Utah to go fishing. And at the last minute figured fresh line would be smart! We did not wanna lose "The Big One!" Later that evening we decided to set up our poles so we could hit that water right after we launched our boat! We were excited! Kyle had spun our new line and we were set to go! After setting up the poles we discovered that the line had been spun onto the reels backwards! And instead of the line reeling in, it was reeling out! I called the store and they advised me they would not be able to do anything because they were closing. We went anyway. And, they agreed to stay late and re-string them! Woohoo! Admittedly, they did bring out a reel to confirm that it was now spun properly. Which it was! So, I did not find it necessary to check all of them. Because now it was almost 10:00 pm and we all wanted to go home. Including the nice gentleman that stayed to do the job, Michael. We assumed they were correct now! Sadly, we were wrong. Fast forward to Thursday morning, we are on the boat, and only two of the six reels were spun correctly! And we did not discover the other 4 reels were wrong until it was time to troll! To make a crappy story shorter, we caught fish, had fun, and have some great memories! We went back later in the week, they remembered us, and refunded our money! And Shatani was nice during the transaction! Eh, I guess this was a happy ending? You decide! So, there ya go! Was I upset? Yes. Did I catch fish? Yes? Would I go back...umm errr. Probably! But, I will buy my own line well in advance, and string them myself! Words to the wise, check your reels! read more

Would love to give 0 stars. Went to pick up item that was ordered for me by my wife. She call the 800 number and paid. We were told I was able to pick up. I took time off from work to go pick up, when I got there I was told that my wife had to be there. I then call the store and asked for a manager, after telling him my story he responded with "that's your problem not mine". I asked for the store manager, waited 10 minutes on hold, then someone picked up phone and hung up. I called the corporate customer service and spoke with someone, they took my information and said her supervisor would call. They then canceled my order and have not returned call. Total lack of regard for the customers that pay their wages. Jeremy, I would love to call and talk to someone. The number given in your response is the same number I called after I left the store. They took my and stated that a supervisor would call me. That has still not happened and I will not go through that process again when it is highly likely that I will just be ignored again. I have had multiple encounters with different employees in this department and everytime an employee has either made me feel stupid for asking questions or is just flat out rude for no reason.
