This review is twofold 3 and 5 star! The shop looks hip and clean, located across the street from The Egg and I restaurant in the Kroger shopping strip on Barker Cypress @ FM 529. However 3 for how I felt when I walked in. The first barber I greeted, sitting in chair looking at cell with no clients proceeded to ask everyone else if they could cut. Not sure what was up with that. So, I'm walking to 3 different barbers to ask who'd cut my hair. I felt like I was in the pinball machine. Finally, Lenin, saved the day and stood to cut. Please schedule with Lenin who was fast and did a great job. I'd highly recommend 5!! read more

This barbershop is conveniently located and the layout of the inside is pretty nice too. Lenin Dominican (barber) cut my 2 year old son's hair about a month ago, but I forgot to Yelp about him. I'm doing this, because it is hard to find a good barber, especially one that you kid lets cut their hair lol. My son sat still with him and let Lenin cut a nice bald fade. I would recommend this guy. He does a great job and is quick with it. 5-Stars for Lenin and 5-Stars for the barbershop. Thank you! read more

I just moved from Austin to Katy. And one of the first barber shops i stopped at was spotlight. Brandon was my barber and the dude is awesome. Gets you in and out in ample time. This place is nice, and people definitely know how to cut hair, but for the love of god dont book gilbert. I booked him for 5:30, and i got there at 5:25 and he already moved on to the next guy. So I sat there for 45 minutes before he was ready for me. I had long hir and was looking for a trim, he looked at me funny and said "i dont like cutting long hair". Like???? Bro you're a barber thats ur job??? Anyways, I show him a picture of what I wanted, and he looked at it and was like alright no problem. The cut is done and it looks nothing close to the length I wanted, the style was completely off and I was extremely disappointed. He said "i altered some things to follow your head shape" .... okay.... but why didn't u just follow the photo i literally put in front of your face. The most ironic part about all of this is when he was cutting my hair, all he was talking about is how bad great clips is, while he was no better. He obviously has talent, He cut the gentlemans hair before me and it looked good, he can do very clean lines, but bro literally said "i hate cutting long hair" and proceeded to do it anyways instead of just suggesting I do it with someone else. read more

So I've came back to the same barber cut did this same thing the last time I got my hair cut, he does not listen I grew my out for 2 months to have the length I needed. I ask for a skin fade don't cut the top and I showed him what I also wanted around my head. He said ok and he understands. He did not understand by I only have the top length of my hair. Here from Cali and decided to get a touch up on my beard. Not knowing the local shops, I Yelp this location and dropped in (April 29, 2021). I made eye contact with the first barber I saw who was with a client...He asked if I needed a shave, turn to a young lady in the next room who was free and asked her to assist me. I don't know if she was waiting on a appointment, however she jumped up, started looking in her drawer as if she was going to assist me. However, I stood there waiting for more than three minutes without her acknowledging me to sit down, or to let me know she had a client coming in. The other two barbers (Victor & Gil) looked confused as to why she didn't at a minimum acknowledge me....or let me know she was expecting a client... Not to be dismayed by her, I choose to stay and let the first barber (Victor) trim me up. Victor hooked me up with a nice shave... Thanks Gil for the music soundtrack. On a side note, about 10 minutes after I arrived a client showed up for the barber. read more
