Came here for Conan O'Brien. It was a very old school type of theater, but I actually really enjoyed the feel of it. I didn't want to sit in something ordinary for Conan. Seats are comfortable and staff was on top of everything. It did get a little warm inside as they really didn't have an AC system, and if they did, it didn't work very well. Still, it was an amazing experience at this place. I'm not sure what they normally show here, but if you're thinking about sitting in this place for something, go for it.

Watched the "You Are Loved" concert with Jason Mraz. JM was AWESOME!!! He is a great singer with a quirky personality. He is one of those singers that when you hear him play, it's EXACTLY like the album. Acoustic is the only way to see him. His voice was soo soothing and I was mesmerized. He started playing at 745p and he kept playing until pass 11p! (30 min intermission) It was one of the best shows I've seen. There are some songs that I was not familiar with, but nonetheless, it didn't matter - I've been going thru some personal issues and JM took me away for those couple hours I watched him. Old venue with a very intimate setting. Had good seats and the acoustics were pretty good!!! I was surprised. The seats were very uncomfortable and my back/butt was hurting for 2.5 hours! It was my first visit, so it was a nice change from the usual Civic, Horton or Cricket. You can park at Horton, but it's only for 3 hours free parking with validation. Short walk to the theater.

I saw Ghost here Monday night and it was amazing. I had a terrible first experience seeing them live in Riverside at the RMA, and this made up for it. Security and venue staff were friendly and efficient. They kicked out several drunk people before the show began, and made sure that the three lines (VIP, early entry, GA) were organized and directed everyone to where they needed to be. I was in the third row balcony for the show and the view was spectacular. Even though the seats were a bit cramped, they were on an incline so that my view wasn't obstructed by the people's heads in front of me.

A must visit old theater, really historic landmark of San Diego (after all, not many old buildings left, Gaslamp/East Village seems to be growing to the way up eliminating many old buildings in the process). It is very refreshing that this theater has been in business for so long and it has amazing views of the shows from any seat. I have attended many performances there, but was always curious what would it be to feel part of the theater world and in the background. I had the opportunity by volunteering at the San Diego International Fringe Festival this past weekend and even though only one small portion of the scenario was used for the purpose (this is like an 'indie' festival, so every play has only a handful of people as audience). I liked to feel inside an old building with all the pros and cons and for some hours enjoy the 'natural way' = not AC anywhere, sweating like crazy but happy to be part of a growing festival. If you a visitor in San Diego and still don't want to see any play or show, just stop by and enter in the lobby and admire the neon signs, facade, flooring...all vintage:)

I love old theathers, Spreckels has that 1920s architecture look the moment you walk through the loby. But my first impression is that this venue would be way too small for any concert but once you are seated not too much of that is a concern once the show starts. Chairs are a bet tiny for my big frame but comfortable. The lobby...well really a table with snacks on it, it looks like some one on there way to work went to Costco and picked up few things to sell. My wife and I came for Jo Koy Comedy show, laughing the whole time.

What a beautiful venue for watching a show! I enjoyed checking out Spreckels Theatre a few weeks ago for *The Nutcracker*. Upon entrance will call is to the left and the process was fairly quick to get in. They had a photo-op at the front like a red carpet with the backdrop and the chance to pose with the *Nutcracker Statue*. The seats were great, every seat could provide great views... mine were straight center which was perfect to enjoy the City Ballet of San Diego's performance. At intermission the restroom line is your typical cray situation.. PATIENCE is a virtue. The City Ballet of SD gave an awesome show all around. Spreckles has magnificent design and detail, with friendly staff all around. 4 Stars for this great venue.. located perfectly in the heart of downtown.~

Old theater with nice architectural features. This is definitely a small venue, but it creates a setting for an intimate show. It's in downtown San Diego, so free parking can be difficult to find. Ventilation is nonexistent, so if you have a compromised immune system then you may be at risk of catching airborne diseases.

Spreckels is Spreckels. It's been there forever. It's not a big theater but I still like it just as it is. The bartender isn't stingy with the liquor and theres a great sushi spot next door.

For the past five consecutive years that we've had the privilege to attend the Conan OBrien show; we've enjoyed the theater's ambiance and the social aspect that surrounds it. This theater provides everything that we need for great entertainment. Due note that if you get balcony seats it does tend to get warm up there during SDCC. We've only sat up there the first year but didn't experience this. We had friends that complained about the temperature when they sat up at the balcony level. Other than that there are two bathrooms at each side and level. The seats and leg space are mediocre but it's nothing to stop enjoying our show. I hope to keep coming here for future SDCC events.

Our group was surprised as is was 2115, it's been open for about an hour and a half and packed. As you enter this old law office down a staircase one would find the "speakeasy statutes/rules" to maintain the 1920s atmosphere-- we loved the setting, the people, the drinks, and of course the live music!! One would not be disappointed. The cocktail menu was on an old record, which I thought it was so clever. Back to the rules, seems pretty easy! They mention to keep an open mind with the drinks as they do not carry vodkas, redbull, Budweiser or bulls**t. Mentioned a dresscode, more so be classic and states be respectful and don't be a di*k. I couldn't agree more with the rules. I don't think there is good at this establishment, as our group just came from dinner I wasn't looking for food. Just spirits, live music and a good time. Highly recommend if you are looking for live music and uniquely crafted cocktails.

Multiple bystanders witnessed his behavior but failed to intervene, assuming it was just "relationship drama" After the man finally left, the venue's security completely misread the situation. Instead of checking on my well-being or ensuring the aggressor had left the premises, security targeted and chased me as if I were the problem. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous for a business's security team to lack the basic situational awareness and training required to identify the actual victim in a situation. I felt entirely unprotected by the staff here. I hope management takes this as a serious sign that their security team needs immediate retraining on bystander intervention and de-escalation, rather than harassing women who are already in vulnerable situations.

She had complimentary tickets ( usually a $10 cover) to The Shout House, a dueling piano bar. We almost didn't go and let me tell you, that would have been a sad mistake. We walked in and while it was a little loud for us older folks, we looked around and took in all that was happening. There were people there much older than us as well as people barely old enough to be in a bar. The pianist (s) were hard at work a the drummer was rocking out too. We sat down. Let me tell you, that was the most fun we have had in a long time! All three musicians played multiple instruments, piano, harmonica, sax, and drums. The songs were everything from Slim Shady to Elton John and everything in between. Slips of paper were placed on the piano, a nod was given and off they went. The crowd sang along and we all laughed! Some of it was silly but ALL of it was fun! Highly recommend. About 10:30 the older crowd started making their way out, us included, early morning flight but we would have stayed until closing time. We might have paid for it the next day but had we not had a plane to catch we absolutely would have stayed. It was fun to see multiple generations having so much fun together and the music was incredible. We had just eaten so we didn't order food but what we saw on other tables looked good. Go!! You won't be sorry!

As you walk in, you walk right into a food court area with many tables to sit at so you can enjoy your food. All the food is ordered at multiple kiosks. I liked this and felt this was super efficient. We tried the burger, the Birria nachos, and a burrito. All were delicious but give you sticker shock. As you move out of the area with tables there are multiple bar carts, ice cream cart, and other liquor and wine vendors ready to give you samples and sell you their drinks. The bathrooms are big and they have two for women and two for men on each side of the underground tunnel. Walking up the stairs to the shell, you come upon a beautiful grassy area and for this concert they had the merch booth a few bar carts, and a wine vendor cart. This is where I have to say I felt scammed. I ordered a vodka cranberry and they ask you what vodka you want, I chose the Kokomo that I tasted earlier in a tasting. Got the double shot. She itemized every item in the drinks and charged me 18.00 a shot and then charged me for the little bit of juice she gave me! Then when I went to pay, she stated all tips are automatically included and there was a service charge. With the way they itemize the shots and juice, that gave her an incredibly inflated tip. I will never order a drink here again. There's an expansive area for people who bought lawn tickets, and people brought both low lying chairs and blankets to sit on. The seating area itself is a bit too close together, with every chair flush against the next one and no arm rests, leading for an uncomfortable closeness to your stranger neighbors. People of plus size will be incredibly uncomfortable. The show itself was amazing, as this venue is gorgeous on a San Diego evening with the lights illuminating the shell. The sound system was crisp and clear. Overall, I recommend having your fill of food and drinks at alternate locations and just coming to enjoy the show.

I would recommend either taking the trolley or pre-reserving a spot downtown (on SpotHero or a similar website), especially when Petco Park also has an event going on. I parked at "450 Second Ave - BOSA Lot 1035" for $9. It was about a 10 min walk away and it was easy to drive out of downtown afterwards.
