Things I liked about Sprezzatura: - whatever you're in the mood for (marinara, carbonara, bolognese...), it's probably on the menu that night - the sauces are rich/heavy. I like, but maybe not everyone will. - generous portions - super friendly service Things I wasn't crazy about: - the finish on the table left a stickiness that was annoying as we sat through our meal - the kitchen door kept slamming shut (loudly) with every staff pass-through and needs some sort of better hinge or soft close mechanism - each pasta dish was a bit overrun with sauce. I might have soaked it up with some bread, but the amount was unnecessary for the pasta alone. We ordered three pastas dishes. I actually liked the one I didn't order the most - an amatriciana-like red sauce with a little spice. My wife enjoyed the Fettucini, Nduja and Mascarpone. The Mafaldine Cashel Blue (cheese) and Roasted Walnuts, which also had caramelized onions in it, was actually not as sweet as I expected (or wanted) it to be. What we did agree on, though, was how delicious the arancini was (we went with spicy sausage). I would lead with that...but don't get carried away. The wine choices were limited, but solid. And the price was very reasonable. I'd go back again (if I actually lived in Ireland!), mostly when I have a fix for a certain flavor. There was a lot of delivery business taking place during our visit. I suspect these sauces don't travel well (no firsthand experience with that), so dine in seems like the better call to me. read more

I'm so confused how this place has good reviews. Service was nonexistent. It was not busy. It seemed takeout was the busiest part of the restaurant. The pasta was cold and dried out. The only thing worth having was the sample platter of the arancini balls. Even those were hard to distinguish which ones were which. Definitely try a different restaurant if you're looking for Italian. read more

Very vegetarian friendly! Small menu, small space, but big taste. Make a reservation. Both locations allow you to easily snag a spot via website. The small menu means that they have perfected it all. Note that there are dishes with meat, but the only meat dishes we saw (*it is a seasonal, rotating menu) were spicy, which are a no-go, unfortunately. There is a cozy interior with warm lighting and minimalist design. Friendly, prompt service as well. We ordered: -Gnocchi with a pesto sauce and littlecress basil -Reginette pasta with grilled onion, walnuts, and blue cheese sauce -Arancini-four cheese: fried cheese ball deliciousness- (one of the most flavorful dishes/apps we had on our entire trip) -Sourdough-great addition to soak up the sauces Like most spots in Dublin, we were able to pay right at the table. It was reasonably priced and so incredibly tasty. When in town, we will be back. Hubby is crossing fingers for more meat options next time. read more

Street parking with modern decor & friendly waitress. There was a line before opening. Menu is on chalkboard or online. Their pastas are unique and flavorful. My duck pasta was a taste bud adventure. Hubs enjoyed his too. Wish I could try more dishes, if I lived here. read more

We joined their virtual queue and when we got there they were ready for us! They gave us seats just inside the door. This was January so it was v cold every time someone opened the door. It also felt crowded when people waited to be seated. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti. The pasta was al dente. It tasted very good. They have wine on tap. I chose an Albariño. Service was friendly. Cheap and cheerful. I think!! Two pasta dishes and one glass of wine cost €25. They are card only. read more

This is a shout out for their pandemic takeout service. We ordered the pasta with ragu and the starter plates for collection. The food is collected from their sister restaurant Baste on Clanbrassil St which I think is pop-up. Anyway, parking is impossible so a confederate is required to pick up the food while the driver circles the block so be warned. Having also been twice challenged by the feds en route to the restaurant and again on the way home, it felt like an expedition rather than a simple pick-up. However, it was well worth the effort. They package the food in lots for 2 and since there were three of us, we laid in some extra food in case there wouldn't be enough. Wrong. There was plenty. Also, there's a little bit of prep involved ie the ragu has to be heated and the pasta cooked but that's not exactly an issue and we had made some margaritas (I know. it's Italian, not Mexican so sue me) to sup while we waited. A complete loaf of moreish sourdough bread came with the meal and which we also popped in the oven as per the idiot-proof instructions. The starters were excellent, the Toons Bridge straciatella being a particular favourite and the pasta with the ragu sauce was pretty good too. As I said, the order for 2 was more than enough for 3. Can't wait until they open again. Please support them at this difficult time for all restaurants.You won't regret it and they'll definitely appreciate it ! read more

This Italian restaurant was recommended to us by a local college chap. Guess he has little taste. It started with a not so warm greeting and a list of what they were out of. We decided on three small plates to start- lamb meatballs, bruschetta and rice balls in toMato sauce. Can't really mess that up right? The meatballs were ok but some were Spicy and some were not. We could not cut or bite into the bruschetta bread it was so tough- the tomatoes were good but needed salt and cut smaller. The rice balls were like raw dough and no flavor. Wish I could tell you more but we decided to cut our losses and have our mains elsewhere. Definitely would not recommend. read more

If you are doing pasta then you need to knock it out of the park. This is good pasta but not superb. Menu posted on the wall so no paper menu. Wine on tap only. Wine menu on wall. No cash. No change if you want to tip with cash. I only give a cash tip. Its card ir nothing. It's a 3.5 really. read more
