Spring Creek is Up The Creek I Have been going to Spring Creek Barbecue for over 20 years and have been a loyal customer. Today we drove to Tyler to purchase some BBQ for the family of our neighbor who had passed away. Not only did it take them 45 minutes to package up 7 lbs of meat, but they could not have been more rude and insensitive when I complained that it should not take 45 minutes to pack up 7 lbs of BBQ. The Manager pretty much blew me off and one of the workers Elias mocked me as he rang me up. I have seen this chain go down hill over the years in both quality and service and with many other choices who needs to put up with some punk mocking them. I sent in a complaint and Spring Creek management did call me back and said they would look into it. What ever that means. Save yourself some aggravation and go to Stanley's or Rudy's you will get much better food and service. read more

Spring Creek Barbecue!!!! This place was very clean, Easy to locate, lots of parking... The ribs are very good and they have a variety of them. As far as the service, the line went fast and the people are friendly. It was the first time for all seven of us and we choose this restaurant based on the reviews written. We all had the ribs and none of us were disappointed! Fresh rolls hot out of the oven offered by the baker every few minutes! (The baker was very easy on the eyes, too!!! Guy's, you'll see! I'll admit it: I'm a BBQ snob. So, if you've eaten too much of the greats in your life, you're going to hate this place. My dislike of Spring Creek was twofold. One, I don't like to stand in a cafeteria-style line unless I'm going to experience pure barbecue bliss when I sit down to eat. That didn't happen. Tough ribs FTL. Furthermore, I am a klutz and trays and I don't get along unless we're gonna stick them under the back wheels of a front wheel drive car for maximum dorifto lulz in the parking lot. Also, food sitting out under lights isn't so good unless there's lots of turnover to keep it fresh, and Spring Creek doesn't always have that. If this restaurant was called the "Spring Creek Sides and Roll Company", this would easily be a 5 star review. And that's because the green beans and the mac and cheese I sampled were both outstanding. The yeast rolls were delicious too. The barbecue, on the other hand, was just OK. The lean cut brisket (which I'm assuming is the "house cut") was cooked perfectly, but had almost no discernable flavor and not much of a "bark" (or carmelized rub) either. The link sausage was a dead-on replica of a store-bought Eckridge sausage with a finely ground filing, a casing without much bite, and was mild enough in taste to be eaten for breakfast. The barbecue sauce was tangy and sweet, but I thought I sensed some ginger in there too. A little bit on watery side. Overall, it was decent but not great. And that pretty much sums up my feelings about this place: Acceptable. If you're coming here for just the sides alone, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you came for the barbecue, though, you'll leave with a feeling that it could've been much better. read more

This place is terrible! Driving through Tyler with the family and stopped in for dinner. The prices are expensive. I had the Beef Brisket which was dry. The BBQ sauce is Carolina-BBQ and was bad. My husbands ribs were not any better. The sides were green beans that taste like they came out of a can and baked beans with almost no flavor. Had been craving BBQ ribs for a while and decided since I was nearby to swing by and grab a rib platter to go. This comes with a choice of two sides and a couple of rolls. Unfortunately I didn't check the bag that held the rolls. I assumed it - or the plastic bag it was all placed in - had a cutlery pack and some butter for the rolls. Nope. No plastic cutlery, no butter, and no napkins. Food was okay, but I've come to expect these amenities automatically from my default BBQ chain place. Springcreek may want to start greeting their customers when they walk up to the to go pickup counter in your establishment. I walked up to get my order. The young lady was on the phone with a customer (totally understood). There were 2 male employees standing to the right. They both saw me walk up and neither said a simple hello. One of the men walked up to the counter and instead of asking how he could help me, slapped the order pad down on the counter. I told him I was picking up an order and he turned around and grabbed it to give to me. I smiled and said thank you, still nothing from him, a simple thank you is all I needed. Since I seemed to have been bothering you by coming into your establishment I will take my business to Stanley's. This is one of those places that used to be a lot better. Like so many others, they have struggled since reopening after the Covid shutdowns & trying to remain profitable in this ridiculous economy. Sadly, we have had a few issues with them since that time and lately, we dine there only if we have a BOGO. Tonight was one of those nights. We arrived around 7:30 & they were already out of baked potatoes. That isn't anything new as they are just as apt to be out of them at 6:00., I'm not real fond of their sides but will eat them in the absence of a baked potato. My husband will not. He opted out of any sides. He would probably eat beans but theirs always look like they have been sitting there far too long - crusty around the pan, the beans themselves, thick & gloppy. So he just opted for the chicken & nothing else. The cashier would not give us a BOGO. After putting in my phone #, she said I didn't have one. I showed her on the app where I did. Then she told me it couldn't be honored because my husband didn't have a dinner, just chicken. I explained he wanted a baked potato & there were none & what did it matter if he didn't have sides sitting on his plate? We weren't going to pay full price for both dinners under the circumstances. Stopped by to pick up food to go. The young girl they had on the register was rude from the start. She asked if I wanted the fresh bread that my meals come with and I said yes. She responded saying it would be a couple minutes for it to come out which I was fine with. She notified the bread girl she needed 4 pieces for my order. I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for the bread to come out and watched the bread girl walk around the whole restaurant handing out bread while I sat there with my to go food waiting. I finally went and asked her if I was going to get my bread and she stated she was out but would get me some on the next round. That really did it for me and completely ruined my visit. This was the absolute worst service I have experienced in a very long time. The wait was tremendous due to the extremely unorganized staff. The manager was rude and very sarcastic to several of the people in the room. The food wasn't very good either. I found their food to be rather bland and over cooked. There was 30 people in my group. Macaroni and cheese is dry barely any cheese on it, The buffet food looked like it had been sitting there a long time. They gave us a free hot bread which was good but no butter no nothing to put on it and no utensils. Well, let me start by saying the taste of the food was what I expected, which is good. However, the service was substandard and the portions were laughable for the price. I called the order in ahead of time and then drove the 15 minutes to pick it up at the curbside, which is now the standard. However, they have no organization of customers who have already ordered and are just there to pick up and the ones who are there to place an order and wait. I had to wait in the one line of cars for 20 minutes. I could not understand a word the lady was saying, who appeared at my window, due to her face being covered. I was told that with my BOGO coupon, I would get two rolls for each entree. That would mean 4 rolls, since I was buying two meals. I only received three rolls. My vegetable sides accompanying the meat were about 1/2 cup servings. Now, I have eaten here too many times to count back when you could actually dine in, and they were always very generous with the servings of vegetables. New to the area and trying different places. Was in the mood for some BBQ and decided to give this place a try. Got the pulled pork plate w. Slaw and beans. The sides were good as well as the sauce. Well so sad, but used to absolutely LOVE this place. Not sure what has happened. Used to get free ice cream here at dinner, no more. Will push bread on you for free though 24/7. My Lil Strawberry Princess wanted half Sausage and half Turkey and that was an issue, which she eventually got with me paying extra. The smoke gets you in and then you choose your meat, they serve it on the plate and you serve yourself the sides, including your BBQ sauce so you can get it on the side or on your meat. One of the best barbecue places around. I have eaten here a few times already. My go to dish is the sliced brisket, and it is so tender! All the fixin's are fresh and the sides are just like momma made them! Don't get me started on the hot rolls, they are phenomenal.
