I bought rainbow colored fake eyelashes for some party I don't even remember, but I do remember my friend gluing my eye shut during application. Its awkwardness is obvious, there's something about the idea of going to the same place that you found your Halloween costume to rent a tux thats unsettling. Yet it makes sense - why not, its all just clothing, and arguably isn't formal wear a costume of a different kind? (ooo I'm deep hah!) I've never actually purchased or rented either type of costume here, partly because I'm a firm believer in creating my own Halloween costumes and partly because, well I'm female and don't generally come across an event where I would need to be decked out in a tuxedo. I have, however, spent many an hour here over the years perusing the merchandise. Its a great place just to get some ideas, or even just pick up some accessories. The staff here is friendly and helpful and its location on West End makes it incredibly convenient. I can't really say anything about their prices as I don't really know what the clothing rental market is like, but their quality seems to be right on and I've known anyone to have a bad experience here. Obviously there are certain times of the year when they are more popular, so if you're shopping for something at those times, I'd suggest getting the jump on it early or you might find yourself with some limited options.

I told them I wasn't sure what size I wore, and instead of measuring me, they just gave me two dresses to try on. I was only given two dresses to try on, with no effort to find a different one, neither of the dresses were what I was looking for, but they assured me they could order what I needed. They made me pay for a third of a dress that they didn't have in the store and that I had no idea what it would like. So, I paid them 83 dollars.. 6 weeks went by before they told me that my dress had arrived. Then, it was a nightmare to get an appointment to come try it on. When I finally got an appointment when I went to the shop they told me they were busy because a bunch of girls had just come to try on prom dresses and to come back in an hour, If I made an appointment, I don't think that girls trying on dresses should have mattered... Well, I came back in an hour, and guess what? They ordered the wrong dress. No problem, they told me they could get me the right one. Polly told me she KNEW the dress was wrong, but apparently just didn't say anything and wanted to waste my time by having me come in. WEEKS went by before the new dress came in. I made an appointment to go try it on, and guess what? It's too big and I HATE it. I should not have ordered a dress without knowing what it would look like. I asked Polly to add sleeves to it, this apparently took her another 2 weeks... I finally went home with my dress April 23rd after ordering it in the first week of January. The dress is ugly, the alterations are horrible, and somehow it got damaged in the shop. Best of all I paid over 200 dollars for something I hate simply because I had no other options given that the wedding is this week. I'm pretty sure the dress is going to fall apart at the wedding because someone the seams at the top are coming apart despite it only being tried on once, and the sleeves are badly sewn on, and uneven. I should feel beautiful in this dress, but on the most important day of my best friend's life I am just going to feel like a loser in an ugly messed up almost 300 dollar dress..
