We made an appointment online, and on the day of our appointment Carol took care of us. I was able to bring 3 of my closest friends with me to my appointment, and there was seating provided for them while they waited to see the gowns. We were directed where to look for gowns my size, and were given so many wonderful options. Overall I tried on 6-7 dresses, and never felt rushed or pressured to make a purchase. The appointment lasts for 90 minutes total. Carol took care of us by listening to comments and observations, and then made suggestions and recommendations to try. I put my full trust in Carol, because thanks to her recommendations I found a dress that made me FEEL like a bride! I was there to try on different silhouettes, and while I did not say yes to the dress (yet), I believe they serve champagne once you purchase a gown. Their prices are very reasonable, and they will ask you for your budget so that they can direct you where to look on the racks and make realistic recommendations. If your budget is $5,000 or less, then this shop has the selection for you! I rarely leave reviews like this, but I feel other customers should be aware of my experience. I purchased a dress from Glitz Nashville after being directed to the "new" rack and told by stylist that the dress I was trying on was new, while discounted items were kept separately. Based on those representations, I reasonably expected the gown to be free of DAMAGE. During the fitting, I was specifically told not to handle the zipper due to store policy, so I relied on the staff assisting me and did not inspect that area myself. After leaving the store, I discovered a ripped seam near the zipper that was clearly present at the time of sale but was never disclosed. When I returned to address the issue, the manager acknowledged the damage existed before purchase and explained that "it's due to busy prom season." The store apologized for missing the defect and sent me a seamstress recommendation, but REFUSED a full refund despite the dress being sold "new" while already damaged. This was especially disappointing given the $458 price point and the expectation of basic quality control for a formal dress. I purchased the gown for a specific event and ultimately was unable to use it comfortably. Based on my experience, I would CAUTION others to thoroughly inspect dresses before leaving the store or better yet AVOID store-- but if you do risk it removing the gown from the bag at checkout and don't assume that "new" necessarily means free of defects. While the staff was polite, I left feeling misled and disappointed by both the undisclosed damage and the refusal to stand behind the condition of the item sold. They are firm on NO REFUNDS and it's the customers duty to assume gowns could be damaged so inspect it throughly and ask to have it removed from bag before purchasing. I've learned from my mistake and hope this helps others. read more

I went to look at prom dresses at Glitz last year I did not find one and did not enjoy the experience. But, I decided to try again this year. The atmosphere is not very fun or exciting. They have a large selection but not many new prom dresses. If you are wanting to look at the new collection on Sheri Hill dresses I definitely recommend going to Glamour Formals instead. I don't like how there is not a mirror in your personal dressing room. You have to walk out In front of the whole store to be able to see your dress which I wouldn't mind but I don't want my first look at the dress to be everyone else's also lol. I like to get a good look of the dress for myself before showing everyone else. The girl that worked with me was nice. It seems the selection is not as good as last year. Don't bother with an appointment. Waste of $50. No individual attention. They let people in to the point you can barely look at dresses because people are standing in front of them because there's no where else to stand. It was just not an enjoyable experience. Went to a different store with an appointment and it was better since it was not over crowded. When one prioritizes quantity of sales over the quality of the experience, your service satisfaction goes down. I'm just glad this is the last time we have to shop for a prom dress. My daughter and I stopped by Glitz while shopping for my mother-of-the-bride dress. When our presence was finally acknowledged, the salesperson was rude and condescending, noting that the store closed in about 20 minutes. I asked if we could at least see their selection, although her attitude had already left a bad impression. Let me preface this review with the fact that we went to every formal shop, department store and bridal shop we could find. It's a week before prom and my daughter and I are beyond stressed. Okay so someone recommended glitz. We head in expecting to once again be disappointed . Well that wasn't the case. We found the perfect dress !!!! We were greeted by a very friendly woman who told us where the bathroom was and to head upstairs where our consultant would be waiting to assist us. This was my first wedding dress shopping experience - and, luckily, it only took the one, because Glitz was great. I'm getting married in 6 months, and I had no idea what to expect from a bridal salon. I mean, I've seen episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress," but I figured that that's probably WAY off from reality. So when my mom and I wandered into Glitz, I didn't know what to expect at all. But our experience shopping at Glitz was GREAT. We walked in and were immediately met by Matt Sutherland - who I couldn't rave enough about if I made this review 10,000 words. Matt was fun, honest, helpful, and a great listener. I told him that I wanted something rustic and casual (no beading or ball gowns or mermaid dresses for me) and that my fiance and I are going to be married outdoors in the spring. I showed him a few pictures of dresses I liked, but told him that I was pretty open to trying anything - and he took all of that information and knew which dresses to pull right away. NOTE: We did NOT have an appointment - we just walked in (Monday late morning/early afternoon). We didn't have to wait at all! They DO require appointments on Sundays (but not Monday through Saturday)! After speaking with Matt for a few minutes, he took us back into the dress room, where he showed me some dresses and gauged my reactions to them. We grabbed six or seven dresses and headed to the changing room. My mom had a favorite that she wanted me to try on first, but Matt convinced her that we shouldn't start with the favorite. In hindsight, I'm glad we listened to him! Because, of course, that dress my mom loved was THE one. If I had tried it on first (rather than sixth after seeing a few I didn't like and figuring out why those didn't work), I might not have known it was the one! The dress is exactly what I wanted and perfect for our venue and wedding (LACE LACE LACE). And so light - who knew wedding dresses could be so heavy? Glitz carried a number of designers' dresses - the ones I was most interested in were Watters (and associated labels Wtoo and Willowby) and Maggie Sotero, but they carried several others. And they had all kinds of dresses - ballgowns, mermaids, beaded dresses, dresses with sleeves, lace dresses, and even some separates! And the dresses they carry are very reasonably priced! I think Matt told us that Glitz mainly carried dresses with price points under $2,000. Mine was way under that! I walked out having spent almost exactly what I hoped to! After we picked the dress, we had a debate about veils (I wasn't sure). I agreed to try a couple on and ended up agreeing to one! (The dress I picked was strapless, and I liked the idea of having my shoulders a teensy bit covered during the ceremony and in front of the minister and rabbi!) They had some beautiful veils as well. (They also had jewelry and other accessories like belts.) (They also carry bridesmaid and mother dresses if you need that. If you get your dress there, they give you 10% on other dresses purchased for the wedding.) Matt was THE best. He walked us through everything, and we found the perfect dress and veil. I really appreciated his honesty - he wasn't shy about sharing his opinion, which I found really refreshing. Shopping for a wedding dress could have been really overwhelming (I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted and there are so many options), but Matt made it a breeze. Not sure how long we were there - but we walked out with a dress and a veil and with the card of a recommended tailor for the tailoring (I'm five feet tall and the dress has about a yard of extra fabric on me)! So maybe Glitz isn't fancy. And they don't give you champagne like they do on TV. But their consultants are awesome (Matt was great, and he had another consultant shadowing him that was wonderful as well. And the consultant who helped us check out was great. Everyone was great!), and they have a wonderful selection of beautiful gowns (options for many different brides of different preferences)! I'm really in love with my dress, and it didn't break the bank or the wedding budget! I can't wait to wear it! Go to Glitz and ask for Matt! Seriously. It was a great experience (I'll probably be back in December to help my mom and possibly the mother of the groom shop for their dresses there as well - and we'll be making an appointment with Matt)! read more

I went in search of a bridesmaid dress, with only the intention of trying on and getting measured -- but not buying. Given those stipulations, I wasn't expecting much in the service department but I was pleasantly surprised at Glitz! I came to Glitz because I was looking for a wedding dress. Their bridal section is slightly removed from their prom ware and the changing space is totally separate. I arrived a little early and perused their selection while I waited on my consultant. They have a lot of dresses: mostly white and strapless. Besides the lack of sleeves they seemed to have a pretty varied assortment of dresses. By and large I saw more ball gowns than anything. I saw dresses for less than $1,000 and others that were over $2,000. For the most part, the dresses were cheaper rather than more expensive. By time my consultant was ready, I was overwhelmed. To help with this, my consultant suggested starting with five dresses and going from there. I choose five dresses in a variety of styles. The changing room was a little small but the viewing area was pretty nice. The walls and ceiling were painted black. There were two platforms, mirrors, and chairs for dress viewings: suggesting they only allow two bridal appointments at a time. When I finally found the dress that I liked my consultant showed me a zillion ways that I could change the dress. We tried on belts and played with straps, looked at veils. Glitz does not provide tailoring services but my consultant was very knowledge in what a seamstress could and could not do to customize my dress. She also offered practical advice concerning the fit and fabrics. I went dress shopping in February, which is apparently prom season. When I arrived and saw a zillion teenage girls covered in every color sequin imaginable, I was understandably nervous. I didn't really want to try on bridal gowns next to the homecoming queen. However, the bridal suite was totally separate and my consultant made sure that the prom queen wanna-bees stayed out of the area. Overall, my experience at Glitz was very good. My consultant was very professional and knowledgeable. Their selection allowed me to try on a variety of dresses within my budget, without traveling all over Nashville. I'm not planning on needing to buy another wedding dress but I would recommend Glitz to a friend who did not want to spend more than $2,000 on her dress. read more
