I was very excited to go to the White Room to find a dress for an event in one week. I tried on…read moreabout 5 and didn't find anything until I looked again and found one I loved. It wasn't a great fit and these girls assured me that they could get me into alterations the same day. I paid for the dress and drove way out to this persons home. She was with another client in a small hot space with a dressing room and sofa. She went on and on about how busy she was how she was working 100 hrs /wk for 20 years for the White Room. I felt bad for her and when my turn came, I went into the dressing room to put on the dress and she immediately changed her attitude. She said to tell her when I was ready so I said I'm ready and she was like "you are? So soon?" I said yes and she walked into the dressing room with a pair of scissors and cut both of my straps on the dress. No questions asked. She starts repining the straps and she stuck me and I said ouch. She goes I haven't done anything. So I said ok and she pulls the straps so tight and says how does that feel? I said it's too tight it hurts me right there. She said I haven't done anything. I'm starting to get really hot in this dress being pushed and pinned like a doll and all of a sudden I tell her undo the dress I'm about to pass out. She goes you're not in the dress. I'm clawing at the zipper in the back trying to get out and I start to fall onto the floor. She catches me and lets me slide down on my butt in this gown. I'm sitting there and she leaves the room! She does not check to see if I'm having a heart attack. She does not help me up. She left the space! She comes back and says that she cannot finish my dress after she has ruined it! She has stuck safety pins into the lace at the cups and this brand new $400 dress is on the floor in a heap. I'm getting dressed and on the phone trying to find another alternative for alterations and I did. Tu comes back and threatens to remove the safety pins and I was out the door before she could erase what she did. At my 2nd alterations, the ladies were absolutely appalled! They walked around and around me with precision and professionalism, softly touching here and there telling me what they saw and were so sorry that they would not be able to fix what she destroyed in time for my event.

I am so happy to see that Ann is still the owner. We made an appointment online, and on the day of our appointment Carol took care of us. I was able to bring 3 of my closest friends with me to my appointment, and there was seating provided for them while they waited to see the gowns. We were directed where to look for gowns my size, and were given so many wonderful options. Overall I tried on 6-7 dresses, and never felt rushed or pressured to make a purchase. The appointment lasts for 90 minutes total. Carol took care of us by listening to comments and observations, and then made suggestions and recommendations to try. I put my full trust in Carol, because thanks to her recommendations I found a dress that made me FEEL like a bride! I was there to try on different silhouettes, and while I did not say yes to the dress (yet), I believe they serve champagne once you purchase a gown. Their prices are very reasonable, and they will ask you for your budget so that they can direct you where to look on the racks and make realistic recommendations. If your budget is $5,000 or less, then this shop has the selection for you! I cannot wait to come back to check out their other options (mother-of-the bride gowns, especially), and take another look through their gorgeous gowns.

She gave me choices of dresses to wear and then she made me comment on what i liked/disliked about the dress then found me something else to try on until i found the one! I spoke with her first about possibly making a custom dress. Her prices were very reasonable compared to many of the options, and she was also extremely friendly. She explained all the things that we could do to make the dress right for me, and she gave me several quotes based on these options. Unfortunately, these were still out of my price range, and when I said so, she continued to try and help me. She explained that a more budget friendly option is to find a dress on sale and then bring it in for customization. She was careful to warn me about the various things that I needed to keep in mind with this option: staying under $300 for the initial cost of the dress, avoiding defects like bumps in the bodice, etc. The whole time we met, she was patient and understanding, and when I left, I knew that I wanted to use her for my alterations. So, after I had found the "perfect" dress at the store, I brought it back to her. Again, she was amazing. First of all, she was extremely helpful with our schedule. I live in San Francisco, but I am planning my wedding in my and my fiance's home town (Murfreesboro). At the initial meeting, I showed her the areas that did not fit quite right, and she thoroughly explained what she would have to do to make the fixes. Every step of the way, you know that she has a serious grasp on the techniques necessary to deal with any type of dress. Mine was lace, and she explained how she would work with it to make it lay correctly and avoid bunching up. Then, after we had finished the whole fitting, I was standing and admiring the dress when I realized that the bodice did not feel right. I felt really bad bringing it up since she had already finished pinning everything, but when I did, she was very gracious. She explained that the dress (and the bride) settle after standing for a little while, and that it is usual to notice smaller things later in the session. She quickly identified how to make it right and then re-pinned the dress as needed. When the bill came, I was worried because the dress had required a substantial amount of difficult alterations. Tatianya broke down what each thing cost and why, and I came away feeling like I got a great deal, especially knowing her skill level. I have my dress now, and I am so so so glad that took it to her. It fits perfectly, and the French bustle that she added looks incredible. She also had to fix a particularly tricky factory defect that required finding a matching piece of lace somewhere on the dress that could be reattached to the focal point of the bodice. Now, you cannot even tell that there was ever a problem, and I have stared and stared at the dress and still couldn't tell you where she found the lace. Anyways, this review is already super long. So, I will leave it at that.
