I used to get my hair cut at the nearby Scout's, so I would constantly walk through Franklin Road to and from, and realized it was best to look around after as I would always be late if I got distracted on my way to! They offer both Men's and Women's clothing with an extra focus on denim of all types. As with many local boutique style shops, pricing can seem a bit high, however the quality and brands they carry are honestly worth it. I am usually pretty shy about spending a pretty penny on a singular item of clothing, but some of the shirts I have bought here are my favorites and worth every penny. Outside of clothing they have a solid variety of accessories and other random items to complete any outfit. Service is always stellar here as well. From entry to exit, they are friendly and helpful. Overall, when I am in downtown Franklin, whether I need something or not, I always make it point to swing by.

Even when I walked past an employee with an armful of clothes, they did not offer to open a dressing room for me. When I went to check out, I had to stand around while the employees finished their conversation before they helped me out. Although the service is less than a typical J. crew experience, the deals make a visit here worth it!

Basically, buying a tuxedo comes down to two options (like any suit really): off the rack or custom made. There are two reasons why you would choose to have a suit custom made. One is that you have a funky figure or size and off the rack clothes don't fit you. The other is that you are incredibly picky. Guess which camp my husband fits in? Right, the second. He looked at Levy's, which had a large off the rack selection and he decided that the choices were not ACTUAL tuxedos but really suits pretending to be tuxedos. They had pseudo-custom but it didn't allow him to truly follow the tuxedo rule book. In steps J. Michaels. J Michaels might be the worst thing to ever happen to our checking account. My husband has found an oasis where he can make every single decision about the clothes he buys. His tuxedo is his favorite outfit. He got to choose everything and I mean everything: shape of the color, fabric of collar, fabric and grain of jacket, lining, length, width, how many pleats did you want, Sir? He had a wonderful experience. He brought along his brother to help and the next weekend they went back so his brother could order one too. They both looked amazing on our wedding day and I credit that to the good fits they got at J. Michaels. In addition to catering to the funky sized and super picky, they do sell off the rack clothes. It's a full service establishment, they will even help you learn to tie your bow tie. If suits are your thing and you enjoy being picky, this is your kind of place and I would strongly suggest you make an afternoon of it.

Even though they state a 14-day return policy, you can't simply take your item back to the store--even if it's only been one day since pickup. You have to email, wait for approval, and sometimes make phone calls just to arrange a basic return or exchange. If it happens to be the weekend, good luck, because there's no one available to handle it. I love their merchandise, but the return process makes me think twice about ordering online again. Great clothes, terrible return and exchange experience.
