They definitely exceeded my expectations on all levels. My daughter did not have a negative thing to say about them. First off, when you drive up to their office it's quite impressive. When we walked in we were greeted by two front desk assistants that were incredibly nice & professional. The waiting room was vibrant, clean & comfortable. I went back with my daughter, they got her settled in her room & went over things with me. (Very detailed) My daughter said the patient chairs were the best she'd ever been in. Her cleaning went well & she was very pleased with the end result! They recommended getting her wisdom teeth out (that won't be so wonderful, but necessary! She has severe TMJ issues that if not monitored things could get extremely painful for her. She got her braces off yesterday. So the dentist will play an instrumental part in making sure she doesn't slide backwards. The dentist was friendly & did a great job explaining what the next steps would be for her. We will definitely be going back for further dental needs. Getting a recommendation from us is extremely hard to come by when it comes to dentists, as we have had more failed experiences than successes! Keep up the great work Sullivan Team!

Given our experience, we do not believe this practice prioritizes patient financial interests. My wife came in for a routine cleaning in March 2026 and presented our new insurance (Guardian DentalGuard Preferred) but was never informed it was out of network. Because of this, we did not get the opportunity to seek care elsewhere before services were rendered. Had we been known we were out of network, we would have gone to an in-network provider and owed nothing. Instead, we received a bill *months later* for $183. Their website says "We accept all traditional dental PPO insurances" and tells you to hand over your insurance card so they can "handle the hassle of dealing with insurance companies." A reasonable patient assumes that means they'll flag anything important about your coverage. Instead, we were told that they "assume all patients are aware of their network status", even though confirming this assumption would be as simple as an extra sentence or two. To make things worse, Guardian's own provider directory still lists a former Rachel Oates location as in-network... so even if you do your homework through Guardian's tools, you may still get the wrong answer. We tried multiple times to resolve this directly. No acknowledgment, no movement on the bill. If are a patient, or want to be one, we recommend: 1.) Call your insurer directly to confirm this practice is in network. Do not ask the practice. 2.) Review all coverage details beforehand so you are personally knowledgeable about any potential costs. 3.) Ask for a cost estimate before any work is done. In our experience, they do not offer this proactively. Or, just go to another dental practice that does these things for you.

I had my first visit recently and was immediately shocked at how nice ALL of the staff were. My hygienist was Erica and she was so sweet. I have a horrible gag reflex and she was incredibly patient. Their office is super high tech and they took some fancy scans of my teeth which was super cool! She really took the time to get to know me and see what I expected or needed from my visit! Dr Clayton was the same way! So incredibly kind!!! I recently went in for a crown and a filling. I was so nervous, but Dr Clayton and the tech were so kind and helpful in getting me through the experience! Everything about this dental experience is first class.... but surprisingly affordable (compared to my previous semi-famous dentist) I highly recommend making the trip from Thompson's Station, Franklin or Spring Hill to Columbia to get the kind of care my whole family has experienced here (my 5 year old daughter can't wait to go to the dentist!!) What really blew my mind ~ was a follow up phone call from Dr Clayton herself to check on me after a long procedure ~ what other DENTIST does that?

I cannot speak for the others dental practitioners in this practice, since I have not seen anyone but Dr, Clark, but I would bet that they are equally great. Words don't do justice to how wonderful I feel my two experiences with implants have been for me here. Most everyone, I would guess, hates dental work of any kind, but my experience with getting my implants was painless both during and after. However, I did get IV general/sedation, and I am glad that I can afford to do that. In addition, I was clearly impressed with the call I got from Dr, Clark the evening of my procedure to check on me. I mean, how many doctors/dentists do that anymore, if they ever did. Costs are discussed with you and spelled out in writing after your initial evaluation, so there are no surprises about what your costs will be for each and every thing going forward. All personnel in this practice are friendly, welcoming and professional. NancyB

Usually they are not open on Fridays, so I was lucky on both appointments. The first thing I noticed about was how friendly they were on the phone. When I arrived early in the morning, the three women behind the desk were already having a Jovial conversation about the possibility of a therapy animal in the office. They texted the paperwork to me. When I was done, I had my teeth examined and cleaned. It was a prompt and relaxed visit. I am going next week for a consultation for some cosmetic dentistry. This was the night before my appointment and Blackman Grove. It was just me at home, living in the middle of nowhere, with a dead car battery and no way to jump it. I called to get the appointment rescheduled, but was told it'd be $75 to do so. Fine. Thanks, daughter. I get it. 2. Finally get a new bridge (not sure if that was what the other appointment was for, but man, it was expensive, even with insurance.) However...a hygenist puts the bridge on and shapes it way too short. The dentist didn't even do anything. I was told she doesn't like doing those or fillings. I was also told that if I didn't like it, they could send it to a lab, but it'd cost MORE. Now, that side of my smile...the teeth are way shorter than the other side.‍ To my main point and complaint: found a new dentist where I'm located. They did X-rays and told me that all of my crowns from Blackman Grove are garbage. You can see them in the X-rays...they're not even cemented down well. I paid thousands...THOUSANDS...and now need to get them redone because my mouth aches. I loved this dentist...BEFORE they hired new people and completely redid the place (and started adding Botox to their services.)
