My mother is in the dementia care unit which is run by Megan. She is always available for a call and sends us videos and pictures of my mother on her phone almost daily. The environment is like a home where everyone eats together. There is also a beautiful garden in the back that is locked for the protection of the residents, and allows for them to stroll casually or sit under the trees. I highly recommend Palamar House for your loved one. We felt at ease knowing my sister was being provided for in a kind, professional, and compassionate way.

A difficult road led to having to find a long term care facility. I have seen other facilities. My mother had developed Alzheimer's in 2018, and very shortly thereafter my father, now alone, also needed a care facility. I engaged in a search, and some of the facilities were heartbreaking. I was frightened by the thought of that being the only option. Long story short, my family was incredibly fortunate to find Encore at Avalon Park in December of 2018. It's a lovely environment. The key here is I was able to let my parents be together. Together in their own small apartment, enjoying their own place, eating good meals, had a routine and received all necessary care. They were happy together, and safe. And...the staff. My eyes are welling up as I write this...my God...what a blessing they have been. They LOVED my parents. My mother passed away (she was 92) in 2022. The amount of tears and grief by everyone who cared for her...the emotion was so...honest. And since then, they have cared for my father as if he were their own relative. Every time I have visited, I have seen their care firsthand. From the Director Monica to the nurses and aids...everyone has been such a reassurance to me. It is June 2026. My father doesn't have a lot of time left. The care and emotion is very evident. I feel blessed to have been able to provide this final gift to them...a nurturing environment that cared. What else could I have asked for? Thank you...all of you. More than I can ever say. Encore went out of their way during Christmas to make the residents feel loved and to experience the holidays. The quality of the food is excellent and tailored to the individual. My brother's room is always neat, tidy and clean smelling. He is handicapped, so the staff has done a great job being receptive to his needs. There are a ton of activities. My brother has a full calendar of events to do on a daily basis. Encore has outings and they have a lot of events at the facility so there is a lot of interaction with the public. The location is excellent. It is a block - walking distance to the Publix or the CVS if I need any supplies. I also can walk to about 10 restaurants from Encore, so it is is easy to take my brother out for dinner without even having it get in the car. I highly recommend this facility and could not have found a better place.

After I filed a complaint, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) issued a 48-page Statement of Deficiencies citing failures including not following physician orders and medication-related deficiencies. These findings are public record. During those 41 days there were three Executive Directors (DJ, Tammy, and Heather). The Head of Maintenance (Luis) also left. When I moved my parents out, I confirmed a zero balance. Our sales agent had represented one free month. After move-out, Katherine Schachter (Regional Director of Operations) and Mark McBride (Chief Operating Officer) provided written assurances regarding credits and refunds. However, full billing statements were not provided until February 26, 2026 -- five months later -- After my parents had already moved out, we received two phone calls delivering the same recorded message from Heather (Executive Director) identifying by first and last name an Independent Living resident who had died by suicide. I reported this as a potential privacy concern. Based on our documented experience, I do not recommend HarborChase of Dr. Phillips Assisted Living. The response to my post is to contact HarborChase. No I gave you 5 months to correct your mistakes. Give my parents their money back!! You violated both the medical and financial part of the contract!

However, I cannot highly recommend at this time. They are pretty disorganized. When I initially met with the marketing director, I was told that the food was delicious with many options. The service is ridiculously slow in the dining area and far from being delicious. Quality is inconsistent. Food choices are limited with lots of carbs, mostly meat options , very limited fresh green vegetables or fresh fruit. They are very short-staffed. Servers seem burned out. Trelago The Grove is trying to hire more staff. Director is very opened to suggestions and making changes. He seems like he is really trying to improve things and he is hands-on. Newly hired Activities Director is warm, enthusiastic and very helpful. Outside trips are starting to be planned but up until recently, it was very limited. In a senior living facility, I was surprised to see the kitchen has high countertops requiring barstools. I think that most of my concerns relate to being new, limited staff and as I said there is good potential to improve. I will update in a few months.

Example: Upon review of intake X-rays they pointed out I have "Abdominal Aortic Calcification" (AAC). This lead to seeing a cardiologist and a new successful health journey. Furthermore, beyond basic chiropractic they have treated me with Shockwave therapy, my wife: laser and spinal decompression therapy. We are not 100% there yet but are making noticeable/measurable progress and couldn't be happier!
