This large residential facility is a graduated residential experience for Freemasons and their loved ones. From minimal assisted-living and independent, living experiences all the way to memory care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients this care facility has a wide array of offerings. All within a familiar community of Freemasons which will be of value to residents and families. It has Long existed in the Springfield area, and at one time was home to children who had nowhere else to go, and included schooling for those children. Those days are in the history books now of course, but it exhibits the commitment to care, which has long been a part of the mission at this campus. Also on site is the headquarters for the Grand Lodge of Ohio Free and Accepted Masons, which is the governing body for tens of thousands of Ohio Masonic Brothers who are part of the Masonic fraternity in Ohio. This place is a nightmare. Independent living units are small but still ok. The nursing home side is horrible. They ignore calls for a nurse for hours. There are rarely nurses available. When speaking to the supervisors they simply deny the facts. I wouldn't allow any more of my relatives to waste their money ($$$$$$) on this place. read more

In order to enter the Masonic Community campus you need to have your temperature taken. That's understandable but they are using an oral thermometer with disposable plastic sleeves. As far as I'm concerned they are setting up this high risk community for the transmission of all contagious diseases. The microbes the screener picks up from one person are put right in the mouth of the next person...and the next person. REVISION: They have revised every thing they do in order to protect our precious loved ones. They have been accommodating and most helpful in this time of need. Hats off! read more

The skilled nursing facility is horrible. They are only rated 2-stars (below average) by Medicare.gov. They did not treat my father well, they were rough and caused him excessive pain while changing dressing for his stage 4 bedsore, they allowed him to miss a dialysis treatment because they could not manage to get him into their van, they allowed his pneumonia to go undiagnosed, and all of his clothing disappeared - TWICE! I replaced the first set of clothing with all new clothing, and all of his new clothing immediately disappeared AGAIN. I had a $3900 billing dispute for room-hold because they charged full-price when he was in the hospital, and not even at SMC, and I felt my father was not in a condition to understand the room-hold concept when he was forced to sign the documents. I was told the only person who could help me was the President/Administrator, Tony Berardi. He was abrupt and 100% inflexible, saying he had the right to refuse to save my father's room the next time he went to the hospital. Sure enough, they packed up his room immediately upon his next trip to the hospital, even though he thought he would only be gone for a couple days. My father was a high-level Mason, and since they carry the Masonic name, I reached out to members of the Masons and Shriners to express my concerns about Springfield Masonic Community. I received a threatening letter from Springfield Masonic Community's legal counsel ordering me to stop communicating with the staff (I only communicated with Tony Berardi), to stop making disparaging comments to "members of the community" and to stop leaving negative reviews online or they would pursue all available legal alternatives - to me, that was a threat of a lawsuit if I didn't just shut up and go away. read more

Nice place to visit and get ice cream. The grounds are well manicured and at Christmas the lights are amazing
