Heartland Imaging - Elizabethtown…read more Visited 20 February 2023 (President's Day) After seeing my primary care on 10 February 2023 for an ongoing issue, I was referred for imaging. Due to past experiences, I assumed it would be a long, arduous wait to get my imaging appointment scheduled. I was surprisingly wrong. On 15 February 2023, I was contacted to schedule an appointment. That's 5 calendar days from referral to appointment. That was fast! Even faster was the actual appointment. I was able to get scheduled for 20 February 2023. If you've been counting, that's 10 days from referral to appointment. I was especially surprised since it was a holiday (President's Day). But, they were open and had quite a few others their for their appointments. On the day of my appointment, I checked in, filled out the required paperwork, then was sent back to the waiting area where I was directed to a changing room where all clothing and metal objects were to be removed. After changing, there are lockers to secure your clothes and other personal items. Shortly after changing, the imaging technician called me back for my scans. Overall, the check-in experience was good, and all the staff I encountered were pleasant, but that's where it ended. If you've ever had an MRI, then you know how loud the machine can be (the technician provided headphones, and I was able to make music genre requests. This made the loud noises a little better). Also, depending on which body part is getting scanned, it can be uncomfortable. This was especially uncomfortable for me because I was apparently too long for the machine. I was lying on my stomach with my legs dangling off the end. My shins were right at the edge of the table to it rubbed thee entire time. Other than the unavoidable issues, it was an okay appointment, and I would recommend Heartland Imaging for their fast availability and convenient times.

My doctor's office had made referrals for me to have several x-rays taken at this location in the past. For immediate x-rays the patient can walk in during normal business hours, 9 am - 4:30 pm. My most recent use of the Claudia E. Sanders Imaging Center was for a scheduled Mammogram followed by Bone Density Scan. It was easy to schedule both procedures back to back at a time convenient for me. The Mammogram was performed by Melissa. As usual the appointment started with confirmation of my medical history. Then Melissa performed the Mammogram with the utmost care to make sure it was as comfortable as possible. At the end she advised me the time frame my doctor would have the results plus she informed me I would get a report of the results in the mail. Then she personally walked me over for my Bone Density Scan and Introduced me to Stacey. Melissa gets five stars! Stacey confirmed with me that I had never had a Bone Density Scan done at this location which was true. She explained the procedure and visited throughout the scans. She made sure that I was as comfortable as possible during the different parts of the scan. At the end she wanted to know if I had any questions and told me unlike the Mammogram I would not receive anything in the mail but that my doctor would have the results in approximately two days. She told me that I could view the results after that at U of L My Chart. She gave me a bookmark that contained much of the same information that both she and Melissa had told me. Then she escorted me to the lobby of the hospital and made sure I didn't need assistance getting to my car. Stacey also earns five stars Thanks to all the hospital staff but especially Melissa and Stacey for providing a five star experience! 2023/ #12

They advertise open MRI. but they don't have it. They say that broke down sever years ago and it…read morewas too expensive to repair. Doctors are recommending patients for an open MRI, patients go there or an MRI, and don't find out until they get there and given a gown that they don't have it. They ask the patient if they are claustrophobic and then tell them they don't have an open MRI. They have two machines - on that is smaller than a coffin, and a larger so they ask if you want to be put in feet first. I had a MRI and my doctor wanted one with contrast. He ordered it immediately and they kept making excuses about how it would take 28 days to get another one. My doctor faxed them, and finally called them; my insurance company contacted them and I called them. They said doctors depended too much on faxes and I know my doctor called because I kept tell them they wouldn't do it. I discovered that when 28 days had passed they could charge you again and they wouldn't do just the MRI with contrast but they did the other one first. They were able to charge $200 even thought I had paid $170 just 27 days earlier. They were waiting until they could charge for another MRI without out contrast (which I didn't need) and add the with contrast to it. I was very upset and would have walked out but I needed to get the one with contrast and my doctor had been waiting a month. I came away with the feeling of false advertising and feeling cheated because of the scheme to get paid twice.
