I am disappointed with Springfield roofing and wish I had used another company for my roof replacement. The salesperson Ben failed to tell us that the roof he was suggesting/installing included smart vents that drastically change the appearance and curb appeal of our roof. We left town during install to get away from the noise, and came back to a roof that looks like a power line has fallen on it, I've included a picture of one section below. I called Ben and he said "he gets this a lot but we'll get used to it" and assured me it is the best way to vent the roof, which I don't doubt. The issue is it looks terrible, and is not like the roof appearance we had before. After another call he told me they want to make it right, which I appreciated, and said if we wanted to change it in a few months they would do that for us free of charge. A few weeks later I asked for that in writing, then he completely backtracked. Now he claims he never said they wouldn't charge for it, and actually cant fix it. All while not returning my calls. So we're stuck with the appearance and an HOA issue because it looks different than what we had before. I've tried to work with them and they've stopped returning my calls. Avoid Springfield Roofing and you'll thank me later. read more

My roof was 25 Years old when 70 mph winds and rain hit us in November 2023. The storm ripped off two dish satellite antennas leaving holes in the roof. I needed Immediate action and protection. Because four other houses used Springfield Roofing & Sheetmetal for a new roof on our 1977 houses, I knew my time for a new roof would come and I knew Springfield Roofing was the best in Northern Virginia. I had called them almost five years ago to install a new roof they cam and inspected the roof and said nothing is wrong and they told me my roof had many years of life and did not charge for the inspection. Wow, Honesty! Now, I need action. Ben Watson the sales rep can out said yes to an immediate repair and did it. He made a detailed inspection and took pictures showing me all the week spots (Bad Boards) and potential problem areas which I expected and knew. I signed a contract for a premium roof with a 25-year warranty. Ben Watson was present when the USSAA insurance assessor came. The new materials came, the old thin roofing boards were removed, and new 1/2 boards installed. New venting system meeting state code installed. Special bonding was impressively installed around chimney, sky lights, and vents received special bonding. New gutters installed and other gutters aligned. All gutters were cleaned and new leaf guards installed on old and new gutters. We are impressed by the professionalism of this family-owned small company, the professional supervision present all day, and the careful craftsmanship of the installation crew. (Note I was a roofer in 1975). We were very happy with how clean everything was on the job site, the diligence, and attention to detail of workmanship especially the improved venting system and special roof sub layering which will reduce our heating and air conditioning cost. Our house roof system has been totally upgraded with quality products and quality workmanship end to end. I love the new friendly internet system for status, payment, email, and updates; well done. We suddenly seemed to develop a leak in one our skylights. Which was causing some issues inside of our house. My hubby had suggested calling Springfield Roofing. Jose came out to the house to inspect he skylight which included him getting up on a ladder to the second floor. After checking things out he provided me with an estimate for the repair. Fast foreword to the repair, the gentleman came (I cannot remember his name but he was nice and professional). He was able to complete the repairs in a few hours and thankfully the process was pretty straight foreword so it didn't require any extra materials. I was relieve to find a contractor that could work on the skylight and get that repaired since I wasn't expecting have to deal with that issue. I had a roof leak in my master bedroom which I didn't think it was a major leak. I called Springfield Roofing they came out promptly and provided a free estimate. Turns out I had a few missing shingles from the last storm. I had Springfield Roofing complete the repair. When the guys arrived they repaired the roof and showed me before and after pictures. I needed to replace the gutter on the back of my house as mine had come off during a storm. Andrew scheduled a crew to come out and replace my gutters for a very reasonable fee. The guys that came out were quick and efficient and did not leave a mess for me to clean up. We had very little face to face interaction (COVID Concerns) and when we did speak, they were very polite. I have used Springfield roofing twice and both times SR has done a great job. About a week and a half ago, Andre had workers come out to add a dryer vent through the attic, secure gutters, replaced rotten wood, and other items mentioned in an inspection report. We were on a time crunch, and he let me know if there were any problems with getting our roof done on time, he'd go out there and do the repairs himself. He said it in an honest manner. The roof of my condo building has had long and persistent leaks due to a flat roof and poor materials. After a call in on Thursday, I received a response from Jose Flores who courteously made an appointment for Tuesday morning. Once seeing the roof and the roof deck, which by other estimates is both exacerbating the problem and making homeowner remedies impossible, he refused to provide an estimate, stating that his boss would not provide an estimate if they did not believe that they were going to get the job. This was a complete waste of Jose and my time, and I don't know how they stay in business if they refuse to even give an estimate for requested work. read more

Phenomenal!! The crew arrived on-time and were very polite and friendly. Their work is flawless! It only took them a day and a half to fully replace our entire roof that was badly outdated and no longer up to code. The company was recommended to us by our neighbors who also had their roof fully replaced. Just so happens these guys had the most competitive rate too. Springfield roofing replaced a roof on my 1920 house. There was a defect noted in the structure of the house following the job. It will never be known if it was damaged during the work they did, but the owner John said he would 'make it right', despite whether it would ever be determined if they were liable, and went above and beyond to follow through on his word and commitment. I would stand by this company based on the owner's commitment to his work and the profession 100 percent. Never have I experienced such integrity from a contractor of any trade. read more

I recently purchased (within the last year) a house and the chimney cap was not fitted properly. Which means in strong winds the cap would slam down onto the chimney making a terrible racket. Today it blew off the house! By the grace of God it didn't hit my neighbor's house or any of their property. I was told by the builder (who renovated the house) that they hired Springfield Roofing to do the chimney caps. Well I am very disappointed in their work and I would not recommend them to anyone. This work was done in a subpar manner. I don't care if they guarantee their work as it was obviously not done correctly, and I would have to have them come out to fix it without any payment expected. read more

I contacted Springfield Roofing for a roof inspection/estimate in 2014 and 2015. In 2014, my insurance company told me that some shingles were lifting off. I contacted this company on their website for an appointment and had not heard from them in a week, so I contacted them again. This time they promptly replied to me and set up an appointment. The employee who came out to my property showed up on time. I was not home then, so he called me on the phone to tell me his thoughts about the roof. He decided that my roof needed no repairs then, so I made no repairs. One year later, in 2015, I was selling my house, and the house inspector and buyer said that some shingles needed to be repaired. After requesting an estimate from this business, they called me and said that my entire roof needed to be replaced. I told them to email me an estimate, and weeks later, I still have not received it. It appears that they either do large projects or no projects. I was able to have sections of the roof shingles repaired by another, reputable company for just a few hundred dollars. read more

The estimator was incompetent and pulled a perfectly good shingle from our roof when he went up to inspect the roof for damage. Then, he left the shingle on the roof and departed without telling me he had removed a shingle. When I called the company someone named J.C., claiming to be the owner, was rude to me and told me I was a liar. J.C. does not know it yet, but I am a retired Marine and he and his company will pay a price for their incompetence and insults. read more

The problem we found was that 2 other companies wanted to charge us almost triple stating we were in a historical area and prices were way higher. Not these guys. Darrin came to inspect what we thought was a roofing issue. He went into the attic to check further, just to follow up with what he saw on the roof, and said it was an HVAC problem. We finally had our roof replaced. After 30 years it was time and it should be done before problems arise. The old shingles lasted their lifespan and we are convinced that CertainTeed is the best brand. So we wanted to stick with it. We requested estimates from 3 different companies, 2 of them wanted to sell us the Timberline brand. Actually, one of them started his sales pitch with the rain guard - as if this was the priority ;) Then we talked to Jose from Springfield Roofing, a long time established local company and found our guy! Jose gave us exactly what we wanted, the brand, the color, the rain guard - for a competitive, reasonable price. Since this company is very busy we had to wait 3 months. This was never an issue and certainly was worth the wait. One day the material showed up and a few days later the crew started. The roof was done in 2 days. These people can work! We were impressed with their skills and efficiency. They even cleaned up thoroughly, no nails left in the flowerbed. read more

I have used Springfield roofing for years and I have a lot of respect for the business because they have never tried to upsell me things I did not truly need. The first time I used them, they replaced some flashing on my row house's metal roof following a hurricane (and all of the roofers were swamped)! One other company tried to get me to paint the whole roof (for 10k) and another tried to sell us an entirely new roof. Springfield also found the source of a leak that had plagued us for years and repaired it. When we bought our second house they added a kitchen exhaust vent and repaired the roof following a bathroom vent issue. So when it was time for a new roof (the old one was done on the cheap), I knew who to call. I knew I wanted the Certain-teed product with the huge warranty. They had to make a few modifications to my roof to get everything properly installed including putting crickets around my chimney (which had recently been rebuilt because of water damage cause by the crappy roof install by someone else) and adding vents. I am so very satisfied with the finished product. They may not be the cheapest on the market, but you don't want cheap when it comes for your roof. If you want quality work with quality products done correctly (and without trying to sell you unnecessary work!) and efficiently (the crew of 8 had an extensive amount of work done in just 2 twelve hour days) then you can't have anyone better than Springfield. read more

My wife and I recently purchased our first home together. As any first time home buyers know that can be a very stressful time. During our home inspection, it was identified that our roof had serious damage that needed to be addressed immediately. We contacted Springfield Roofing for a competitive quote match, and they did better than the previous roofers we had reached, as well as did a site visit to fully quote the extent of repairs needed. After calling over 10 roofers, this was an added plus; because many will only provide quotes over the phone or not reply to your inquiry seriously at all. When the roofers came they were courteous, quick, and cleaned up after completing their job. My only complaint is that they arrived on my wife's birthday so she couldn't sleep in with all their banging! I would highly recommend Springfield Roofing for any of your roofing needs. read more

Springfield Roofing installed a modified bitumen flat roof on my house in the early 2000's. Last year I found out that they did not properly taper one section of the roof which failed due to standing water. Now I find out that they did not put a "cricket" around my chimney and it has been leaking for some time and now I have termites in the roof around the chimney. Two different roofers said the work was not done properly. The owner came out to review the roof with standing water but offered nothing to resolve it. My suggestion is that after you have a roof installed, have another inspector examine the work. I trusted them to do the work properly. I think you can do better. read more

100% satisfaction (x2) with Springfield Roofing! A few months ago I worked with Ben Watson at Springfield Roofing to replace the tiles on my townhouse's roof. They did an excellent job at a reasonable cost. Then a couple of weeks ago 7 of my tiles were damaged during one of the recent wind storms. I called Ben up and asked him to give me a quote for repairing the damage. Instead, he sent out a team within a week and fixed the roof for free! One star is generous!I sent an email requesting an estimate for a leak in my roof. I had an appointment with Andrew, but when JC (some relation to the owner) unnecessarily got involved he called me by the wrong name. I replied to his email correcting him and waited until the next day for an apology. When I didn't get one, I sent the secretary an email asking when I could expect an apology. What I got was rude and JC said they were "very busy with a lot of customers". He cancelled my appointment. and said they would not do business with me. Because I asked for a well-deserved apology??? That's fine. No one else should do business with them either since they're clearly TOO BUSY to keep all their customers straight. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and I want everyone to know it!!! read more

This company came out to my home to give an estimate. They were one of about five companies I had come out to estimate the cost of replacing water-damaged wood from improper installation by a prior roofing company. The damage was across the entire front of my house. The estimator told me that there was no problem with my roof-it was just air conditioner leakage. That was contrary to what all of the other roofing companies said. By the time the estimator left my home, there was damage to my existing shingles. I called the company to complain. A man who told me he was the owner of the company said that he was there, at my house, although I never saw him during the hour that his estimator was there. He said my roof was already damaged, which it was not. He was aggressive and outrageous. Although this company has been recommended by a very good general contractor, I would never go near them again. read more

I have relied on Springfield Roofing for the last five years, and I would highly recommend their services. My house is almost 70 years old, but I feel like I have had more than my fair share of issues. Fortunately, whenever there is a problem, I call or email Mike Bennett, and he takes care of me. For example, I thought I was going to need new gutters because they were leaking all over the place. Mike came out, and said the gutters just needed to be resecured to the house. His team quickly put in new brackets and the problem was solved at minimal cost. They have fixed various other leaks, re-flashed some of my skylights, and sealed many nail pops. We have had several interactions with this company and I can't recommend Mike highly enough. First, he worked with our contractor to add a skylight to a new addition, which has performed flawlessly since installation. Several months later, we had a leak in a different part of the house. I thought it might be a roof issue, so I called Mike. He came ASAP and diagnosed the issue, which was a problem with the ductwork sealant. Since it wasn't roof related and he had come all the way, I tried to give him a tip as a thank you. Mike didn't accept it, and told me he was glad he could help. A third time was following the crazy wind we had in March. Some things on the roof moved around (not the actual roof, obviously). Mike showed up, managed to access the roof from the side of the house, and fixed the issue flawlessly. He has been great every step of the way, but more than that, the quality of work speaks for itself. We've had no issues at all with the roof or skylight they installed, and have had a quick response every single time we've reached out with a question.
