This hotel is located in a quiet area about 10 minutes from the city center. We stayed here for four nights during our trip to Bellingham. I like Springhill Suites because there is value in the price and because it is Marriott brand it is invariably clean and well-managed. This Springhill Suites, like all of them, offer oversized rooms with a large sofa, a work station, and a mini-frig and microwave. In the room we stayed, the toilet was separate from the main sink and shower. This hotel also has a large fitness workout area, a heated pool and hot tub. Free breakfast is included in the price and it is pretty extensive so there is something for everyone. Best of all, the hotel is quiet. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Free parking. The hotel caters to families so there are kids to make friends with in the pool. The only negative is that this hotel is physically attached to another Marriott property. You literally walk down the hall and go from one hotel to another. You can get on the elevator in one hotel and get off in another. It is rather easy (at least for me) to get lost as to which hotel I am in and where to go. Sometimes it seems like a maze. The hotel personnel is friendly. Overall, this hotel fit our needs perfectly. It is not necessarily upscale but the price is good, the hotel is clean and well-maintained, and the location is convenient to the city center and the myriad outdoor activities in Bellingham. read more

The breakfast is what makes this place not get 1-2 stars. The carpet throughout the hotel in halls and rooms look like it has never been cleaned. There is a very musty smell in the halls and was very strong in our room. I opened the window to try to get fresh air but there is no fan and no airflow throughout the hotel. But I think so many things could be improved with changing out the carpets and the couches - they were absolutely filthy. Also they say you get housekeeping every other day if you want. We said yes, all they did was come in and empty two small garbage bags. They did not straighten anything, did not refill coffees, or cups, did not even pick up a towel off the floor. You don't see many people cleaning like at other hotels. Also when we checked in there was half a pill on the floor near one of the beds. The breakfast is great, a lot of options, bagels, eggs, oatmeal and granola with really nice toppings and the guy staffing the breakfast works really hard to keep everything stocked up. Honestly not bad at all. If you get a west-facing room, the view is quite pleasant too. Spacious rooms, decent amenities and perks, quiet. Few things that weren't great: - the parking lot has leaky pipes. Be careful where you park. I don't know what liquid comes out of these pipes but you don't wanna risk it. - my parents found a pair of socks from the previous people behind the curtains. No thanks. - they will print out your first name + initials on a list near the front desk if you're a mariott elite member. I'm a bit concerned about this choice, especially for people who don't want others to know that they're staying at a particular hotel. (A person running away from an ab*ser, for example) read more

Last time I stayed In bellingham in 2022 I stayed at holiday inn express. This hotel is much much better than that place. But this place also has its flaws. Parking up front is always fool so you have to park in the back which is down a hill and not conducive for older people. The spots are small and it is a tight squeeze. The location is nice and close to many things. The room was pretty nice but I do not like when hotels separate shower and toilet. So there is one area for the shower with a sink and mirror and then another area for the toilet and another very small sink. There is a nice living room area to sit and watch tv and a desk. THE NOISE is part of what makes me leave 3 stars. You can hear every door, every foot step, every noise. They have a nice pool and hot tub area. The gym is actually pretty nice for being very small but they keep it at like 82 degrees in there which is uncomfortable to work out in. The gym is also all windows so you everyone who walks by is looking at you. The continental breakfast is literally the worst which is why it's free. You get oatmeal, bread, English muffin, coffee, quiche, sausage biscuits which were gross. Overall This place was clean which is why I would stay here again and they have a bar open from 5-10 in the lobby which I may or may not have frequented. ;) read more

A friend and I stayed here over a long weekend to visit a local friend recently. It's definitely a newer building and very, very well run! Based on the photos on the Marriott website, I really expected the rooms to be much smaller, but they're quite large. We had a double queen room and it had a small refrigerator and microwave oven in a separated area, as well as a small "living room" area with a sofa and chaise lounge and desk space, with a television that rotated to point at either the "bedroom" area or the living area. There are dresser drawers under the TV and on the far wall of the bedroom area, with a nice and high countertop. There is also a slatted wood bench over the through-the-wall air conditioner. A built-in closet (with solid core door and a full-length mirror on the inside) with plenty of hangers and an iron round out storage. The AC was a bit on the louder side, and I felt like it tended to allow a bit too large of a temperature/humidity swing. It is digitally controlled with a straightforward thermostat by the door. There is a separate water closet with a toilet and small pedestal sink behind a sliding barn door from the bathroom with tub/shower combo and large countertop with sink. Both of these spaces are spacious, but the sliding barn doors are a double-edged sword: they're stylish and save an incredible amount of space, but broke down a privacy barrier. In both the living area and bedroom area, there were small tables with the legs on three sides and shaped so that they could slide over the edge of the bed or the sofa. The beds were quite comfortable, with pillows that were nice and supportive and surprisingly warm blankets. The TV had a surprising number of channels and the reception (I know, it's digital) was perfect. Wifi was also quite speedy. The windows had both a sheer light filtering roller shade and a blackout drapery. Unfortunately, the blackout drapery did not seal well against the walls and aligned just a bit too evenly, so the morning sun did shine in through the cracks a bit more than I've been able to achieve at other hotels or at home. Overall the room was really stylish, with light colors everywhere. It just felt very modern and clean. And also it was actually clean, too; normally the TV remotes at hotels feel kinda gross, but everything in the room had obviously been well attended to. On-site parking was plentiful, with a secure underground garage that had spaces painted surprisingly widely apart. I drive a two-door coupe, so tight spaces are difficult to get in and out of due to the length of my car's doors; I didn't have a problem here. Due to COVID, the free breakfast buffet was unavailable, but a simple bagged grab-n-go breakfast option was available at the front desk. Two options are available, one with a Jimmy Dean microwaveable pancake, sausage and egg sandwich, apple, and strawberry oatmeal bar with a small bottle of water, and the other was basically twigs and berries so I chose not to remember it. Additionally, daily housekeeping service was not offered in order to reduce touchpoints and potential exposure. There is a restaurant and bar in the lobby as well. I didn't try the food, but it looked delicious and the menu prices looked reasonable. The bar is full stocked and the bartender is happy to make you whatever you'd like, including a Bocce Ball (1 part Amaretto and 3 parts OJ - she even freshly squeezed the oranges!) and a truly delicious Old Fashioned! Speaking of the staff, everyone was incredibly pleasant and friendly. I did get a chance to use the hot tub, which was small and triangular shaped. At home this would be great but among strangers it can be a bit on the awkward side (at least when I got in the couple that was already in the hot tub immediately got out - and then a small child decided it was appropriate to get in with me and try to strike up a conversation while standing on the bench right next to me). The final night of our stay, the hot tub was closed for some reason. Overall, I would definitely stay here when traveling in the area again. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the air conditioner being on the noisy side, the barn doors for the water closet and bathroom, and the hot tub being closed for a part of my stay. read more

Spring Hill Suites is one of the newer hotels in Bellingham. It seems to be the more popular of the 3 newest hotels, Hilton and Holiday Inn being the other two. It's sibling, Towne Place Suites, next door is for travelers/guests who are staying "long term" in the area. I've stayed in rooms with king beds and the configuration of the rooms seems more fluid to me. The new Holiday Inn by the airport, has kings size rooms with the bathroom further away from the bedroom. The hotel has all the amenities you will want or desire. This doesn't appear to accommodate as many guests as the new Holiday Inn and may not have as much outside parking space, but there is additional underground parking when all the outside parking spaces are taken. The service is fantastic! What makes this place the best is the breakfast in the morning. It's included in the price of the room. The Hilton down the street has breakfast included, but it isn't as good as here. The breakfast has everything and just makes it far better in every way. I checked out of the Holiday Inn after I discovered they didn't include breakfast. I will only stay here. read more

When we travel, we typically travel with Marriott and we decided to spend four days in Bellingham before crossing over the Canadian border to get winter gear, because after living in the Caribbean for two years we had none. This and the Townplace Suites were the only Marriott options that popped up and we wanted something as close to the Bellis Fair Mall as possible (its a 3 minute drive away). So if you are deciding between the two, they are connected and one large building. Seriously the Townplace Suites side is $10 less per night but there is a door on each floor that connect the hallways. They also share the same facilities. I was very impressed with this hotel, the lobby and public area decor is very West Elm and I've always thought that Springhill Suites were limited service but this one wasn't. They have a trendy full bar and lounge that serves dinner (which you can also have brought to your room) as well as a nice breakfast buffet with healthy options. The fitness center is a good size and state of the art and they also have a massive indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub. We were traveling with our 3 dogs and it was a bonus that they are very pet friendly. They built a dog relief station out front with free poop bags and they have a designated dog walking path around the building. When you count the little things that they do like free wi-fi, free local shuttle, free garage parking, free breakfast, free bottle water, 24 hour market in the lobby, laundry facilities, combined with great service this hotel is a very good value especially if you are here with a family. We had a king suite that had a pullout couch and I liked the layout of the bathroom. The shower and toilet are in separate rooms from each other with their own sinks. Additionally if you are an elite Marriott rewards member they also choose an elite member of day, I think to win stuff. We have to shout out to Kevin at the front desk, he was amazing at check-in and throughout our stay and we also saw him jump in to help the bar and lounge area when they got slammed. Had an incredible stay at this great hotel just minutes from downtown Bellingham. The lobby was clean and a modern standard issue for a Marriott with a great bar setup. The hotel is far enough off the main highway so there isn't any lingering road noise, but you're also just a quick drive to most of the great downtown restaurants. Breakfast was also served up hot and fresh with a great variety to choose from and start your day off right. The staff was great. Veronica at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure the room was just as I needed and was always extremely pleasant. The room was huge with way more space than I needed, including two sinks. (Seems to be some sort of local legal requirement perhaps?) The bathroom was recently remodeled which is always appreciated and the bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of plush pillows. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Bellingham! read more

This hotel seemed like a good value because we were looking for a pool and breakfast to accommodate two adults and two small children. We arrived early and the front desk allowed early check in no problem. The room seemed fine but small, no big deal. First impression was good. The pool was very cold and had a lot of debris floating around in it. The floor of the pool cut both kids feet (3' deep section has very jagged floor) on the first day. There was also a nicotine patch on the disabled chair lift by hot tub for 3 days, pretty gross. Hot tub is decent but when jets are on, tons of foam (improper chemicals?) and I became very itchy about an hour after using it despite rinsing off thoroughly. Legitimately checked for bed bugs at this point because the itches were welting. King bed was ok, although very rocky from a cheap frame. The pullout sofa bed was horrible and had a big red stain in the middle. I had to crawl across to close the blinds and nearly fractured my shin bone from the thinness. No chance an adult would be able to sleep decently in this pullout bed with a 3" mattress. Breakfast was solid. They have good sugar coated Belgian waffles and a rotating warm tray, plus all the standard juices, milks, cereals etc. It does get busy and not enough seating if you go during peak time, plan accordingly. The lone worker was doing a great job. Parking also gets full on weekends but there is an overflow lot behind the building, a huge hassle depending which building you are in. Now the worst part is the day after leaving, both kids got pretty sick most likely from the pool water and puked multiple times. Adults did not get sick at all and the kids only ate at the hotel. When swimming, we occasionally got some water in our mouth and it tasted very different from other pools - extremely salty and the hot tub was always so foamy. The general manager Keith Coleman was not helpful so I would say if your intentions are to play in a pool with kids, go elsewhere. read more

First of replacement of mattress should be a thing . Lumpy beds are not good for sleeping. Second my daughter coffee was half full of coffee grounds . Sadly she did not notice and gulped her coffee spitting coffee grounds out. It looked like something from a bad movie, black vomit coming out her mouth. Who does coffee full of coffee grounds? Lumpy beds with decor in hallways that could cause seizure from being so busy to the eyes. Can u say lactose free offerings ? No they can't . Like nothing cooked was vegan either. For a chain motel, this one is very nice. We went to Bellingham for a wedding so of course needed to spend the night. The staff was very pleasant and helpful when we asked about various things. The hotel rooms are very modern and clean and the bed was very comfortable which is important. They have refrigerators and microwaves which means if you spend more than one night and want to bring some left over back with you to have later it's not a problem. One plus for the kids is an inside pool which is heated just a bit. The 11 year olds said it was fine. They also have a hot tub and what looked to be a nice gym. Didn't have much but if all you want is elliptical or treadmill, you're fine. Best part was the price - a senior rate of $118 per night. Can't beat that and it came with breakfast. Not a bad breakfast but had to have a 10 year old show me how to use the waffle iron and that certainly isn't the fault of the hotel. read more

This hotel was absolutely fabulous. The booking process was very easy online, there were no dumb games where they charge your card ahead of time, and the rates were reasonable. The location is right off the freeway but we did not hear freeway noise. The building is new, parking lot well lit with lots of parking, and the area seemed safe (albeit an industrial type area). Check in was a breeze. The interior of the hotel is modern and clean. Our room was spacious, clean, and well laid out. Only exception is the tv is off centered so it would be hard to lay in bed and watch tv (we dont watch tv so it wasnt a biggy to us but might be to others). Beds were super comfy and the rooms had nice insulation so we didnt hear every movement from rooms around us. Great hot breakfast buffet (one of the better ones I have seen in a hotel). Only thing I didnt like is that my credit card was charged twice (not actually charged but they withheld an initial amount (130) and then took another 108 out (actual cost). So basically my credit card had 238 holding until the 130 dropped off, for several days. Not a huge deal to me but if a family had limited funds, it might be a problem. Overall an excellent choice of hotels in Bellingham area. If we are ever in area again, we would stay here. read more

Stayed here recently and got to witness the manager Becky Doll kick out some people that were visiting for a protest. She made us feel so safe by making them leave without a refund...not sure what the protest was but something to do about ending the mandates. Can you believe people don't want government protection? Good riddance to them! IF YOU DONT ACT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED INDOORS. I don't care if it's a medical exemption, and Becky was right there to make sure they were discriminated against AS THEY SHOULD BE. There is a parking garage that is accessible with your room key but I wasn't told that. I was only told that there was parking behind the building. I'm writing as a former employee. The staff is treated horribly and poorly managed. Employees are expected to not take their legally mandated breaks and work through illness. The pay is awful and workload is unmanageable. Employees are rewarded for harassment and verbal abuse of their coworkers. The hours are awful, either next to nothing or over 100 hours a week. There are osha violations and a detergent shortage for a week was ignored, so linens were put into rooms that had been improperly cleaned. Idk what it's like from a guest standpoint bc ironically I can't afford it even with the employee discount. read more

SpringHill Suites Bellingham is a wonderful hotel in Bellingham close to WWU, Bellingham Airport and the US/ Canada border. The staff is friendly and welcoming throughout the hotel. The rooms are modern, clean, quiet and have comfy beds. One nice feature is the fridge has a "bed time mode" where it goes 100% silent for around 8 hours and a quick chill. This is perfect for if you want to keep bottled water, juices, ect cold but do not want the horrible small fridge noises keeping you up. The hotel has a free breakfast each morning. It has omelets, cereal, fruits and another hot item ranging from bacon, sausage, ect each morning among other items. There is a nice fitness center with quality machines that are very clean and have personal tvs on them. Everyone from the manager, front desk to even the hotels chief engineer who was working late into the night to get ensure the hot tub was working perfect truly show they care about the guests and hotel. This is a wonderful hotel to stay at, especially when traveling on business. read more

This place is definately a very nice hotel. Almost no problems. The staff is amazing first off, Russel and Kevin, people who were definately remembarable, they greet me almost every time I walk by. My dad, stays here a lot, hes actually a platinum premier elite with ambassador service. Which means he spends at least 20,000 dollars every year in marriotts. The lobby Is also very nice. Almost all rooms in the hotel are prepossesing. The TV's in the room are a nice size and have an okay placement. With how the room is laid out though it's fine. The TV though has many plugs on the back allowing for hdmi and fire sticks to watch your own shows if you cant settle for the large amount of channels already given. Also rooms are queit, definately an upgrade from the four points by Sheraton. The only problem would be loud walking and such from the floors above. But that is not to much of a big deal. The beds are very comfortable. You get 3 pillows on each bed in your room, along with a tiny pillow for decoration that my dad and I usually throw off. In all this place is a phenomenal hotel with great staff and comfortable rooms. This place is nice and the bed was super comfortable. I would give it a 5 star if I had not been woken up by two drunk guys at 3am talking to each other in the lobby! Serious night watch guy needs to grow a pair and tell people when it's time to go to bed. I did they left. Bar also doesn't open until like 4pm on. Saturday if you want a glass of vino you need to go elsewhere. Glad we brought our own. Rooms are nice and kind of fancy. Price was t too bad around $130. Free breakfast and they have a pretty good spread. Appetizers at night also were pretty good. All in all a pretty good place here in Bellingham. read more

From checking in to checking out, great experience all around. The hotel bartender kept his area clean, great conversation, showed us pictures of his rad 4 dogs and the drinks were great. Try the special drink "sister wives." The guy Mike who drove the shuttle, knows where he's going with no hesitation, and even came back for us later on after our trip to the bar. The breakfast set up was your normal hotel complimentary breakfast. All employees we came in contact with were friendly. Oh yeah and the room was great too! Close to the airport, clean with friendly staff. We arrived very late on a Friday night. The front desk staff were extremely nice and courteous. The room was large and clean. It was a double queen with a desk, sofa, mini fridge and individual coffee maker. The bathroom has hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and soap. No additional toiletries are there. In the morning the lobby houses a breakfast buffet which has a variety of choices. There is a bar with limited menu at night for dinner. Lyft services were quick as we did not rent a car but they were on the pricey side. Uber seemed a little cheaper. The reason it's not 5 Stars is that there is no room service. read more

Nice room for a family of 5 with a dog.. 2 queen bed and a sectional with a pull out. Beds are comfy. Bathrooms are nice. Breakfast was good. Only problem is our room 248 smelled so bad like wet mold mixed with poop. They did move us to 426 which is nice has a little musty smell but I guess that's just how all the rooms smell not sure. I'm going to try but If I can't take the smell much longer we will have to find some where else.. Over all okay hotel. read more

Visited Bellingham, Washington this past weekend with my team for a tournament and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Marriott SpringHill Suites. Although we often stay at similar establishments whenever we travel, this hotel really stuck out as being fresh and friendly. The rooms were extremely spacious and seemingly newly remodeled - I loved the aesthetic design of the rooms, it really made me feel rejuvenated! The beds were big, comfy, and clean - I slept like a baby! The service was outstanding. The staff was extremely accommodating to our large party and was helped reassign rooms and set up meeting rooms when necessary. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've had in this level of a Marriott. Oatmeal bar, eggs, make your own waffles, fruit, bagels, toast, breakfast potatoes, and NUTELLA? yum! Overall a very pleasant experience. If you are looking for place to stay in Bellingham, look no further! Although I doubt I will ever be back, I am more than willing to give credit where credit is due, bravo. read more

The " hotel room" has evolved to this..near perfection. Tall ceilings allow tall shower head, crisp clean, clever desk arrangement and living area...separate water closer, mini kitchen area. Big beds, lots of storage, sliding doors means better use of space. Great lighting, places to plug in, all for a fairly modest price. The lobby is bright and cheery and the bar is wonderful with incentive cocktails a brisk value oriented happy hour, out standing food and very fairly priced. What makes this place 5-stars? -ease of check-in and friendly front desk staff. Nice touch: huge bowl of hundreds of gourmet lollipops on the counter. They're complimentary! Take a few! -cute snacks and concessions for purchase by the front desk in case you get the munchies in the middle of the night -lovely bar area in the lobby with a few large flat-screen wall-mounted tvs. Nice bartender. PLUS they have a really good happy hour with super (and inexpensive) dishes, and they serve food until 11pm each night! Late one night there we had spinach, ham and Havarti wrap (huge and delicious), a garden veggie "burger (zingy with jalapenos, and also very generously portioned. My kid loved it), and a hummus plate with SUCH good seasoned flat crackers, warm pita wedges, carrot and celery sticks, slices of smoked cheddar and brie cheeses. I cannot begin to tell you how delicious this was, and how much food this platter had on it! -really varied complimentary breakfast served buffet-style in the lobby each morning (fresh pastries, toast, waffles, scrambled or hard-boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal with a variety of toppings, fresh fruits and yogurts, all sorts of hot and cold beverages, cereals, etc.). Ample seating. The place is pristine clean. -the fitness room has contemporary treadmills and ellipticals, with weights, yoga mats and more. It's pristine clean and open 24/7. -the pool is small but nice and clean (water is a bit too cold for me but my kids loved it), with lots of noodles and beach balls to play with. Oh, and there's a fantastic sauna to soak in (I loved that! Super hot. Just how I like it). -The rooms are actually suites, so they're roomy. Ours had 2 queen beds and was perfect for our family of 4, with a separate living area with a sectional sofa and desk, swivel tv, super comfy beds, separate toilet room with tiny sink and then a larger shower/bath room with lots of counter space by a larger sink. Lots of towels and a good hair blower. Big closet and 2 dressers. The only thing missing was a room safe, but there's one available at the front desk. (I would have liked a room safe). We all loved the Paul Mitchell hair products and the lemon scented body lotions. We also loved the room refrigerator and microwave (and the coffee machine, though we didn't use that), and the complimentary teas. So nice. And again, pristine clean. -We never heard our neighbors on either side of us or people in the hallway, so the rooms must be well-insulated. -there's a complimentary shuttle that will bring you anywhere in a 5-10 mile radius. It's first come, first serve, so you can't reserve it in advance, but we used this shuttle a lot to go into Fairhaven, and to go to a wedding in town, and the shuttle drivers and both terrific and it was great not to worry about driving and getting lost and parking. -lots of parking at the hotel in the front and back. -check-out was a breeze. The front desk staff here was awesome when I made a goof on my hotel reservation. The hotel was full and the front desk clerk accommodated us. But.. the room we got was on the first floor, right next to the front desk and the kitchen in the morning. You hear all the noises. There was mildew on the corners of the shower. A weird master switch that operates all the plugs and switches. And the sliding door to the bathroom was missing a guide on the floor. All in all not a good Marriott experience. If they offer you room 146, don't take it. read more

First of all, the service was incredible! The staff was by far some of the friendliest I have encountered on my travels! The hotel & the rooms were so nice, it was hard to believe I was in Bellingham, WA! Rooms were well equipment with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, glasses, paper plates & durable plastic forks, knives & spoon (which I usually travel with, so this was a BONUS). Beds are comfy & lots of pillows!! One thing I noticed too--the room had plenty of PLUGS to plug your electronic in to recharge! (Yes, I know, but it is important!) The gym was totally empty when I used it, very clean and was actually pretty good for a gym hotel with benches, dumbbells, great cardio selection & towel service too. The pool looked nice, though I didn't use it (it's across from the gym). The breakfast was very nice too, some deceit choices, and lots of fresh hot coffee & hot water too. The breakfast staff was very nice, friendly and attentive to when things would run low. If you're having to stay up in Bellingham, this is a great choice! read more
