Would give zero stars if I could. Was traveling and having issues with my wi-fi connection, so I called to inquire about a double queen room. Extremely rude "person" quoted me $590.00 per night. When asked for said rude person to confirm that that they did not mean $59.00, the repeated back to me five-nine-zero. I am a traveler that does not mind dropping money on quality establishments, but really deplorable customer service for a fleabag hotel is unacceptable. read more

New owners have really done a nice job on this place. I have stayed here 3 times over the last 20 years. Major improvements have been made. Everything is spotless. Beds, bedding, towels, carpet, fridge. We had really great service. I called and changed plans due to family numbers. They were totally accommodating. We had several folks, 10 rooms, here for a Steamboat Meet and everyone had positive reviews of this place. This is an old hotel. The toilets are lower than I am used to, a grab bar would be helpful. The shower head is also low. A handheld would make things easier. Wi-Fi and tv worked well. More than enough hangars. Soap, conditioner and shampoo dispensers. I usually loathe these things, but they were very lightly scented and seemed to be a good product. Good ice machine. Coin Op washer/dryer available. A small notepad and pen would have been appreciated and would be a small expenditure but a good reminder to use and take home. We were half a mile from the marina and the BC Border. We won't hesitate to stay here again. read more

I personal loved the convenience of peace arch being walking distance but other than that it's all I can say positive about my stay. Mike was nice the owner I believed. Why I rate a 1 star is because my first night in the room I got bit up by ether fleas or bed bugs all over my ankle. Granted I did go to the park but at no point I took my shoe off there. When I addressed the issue to Mike's associate she said it was the park and I honestly don't believe that. I stayed in the room for 4 nights. 3/4 I woke up in the middle of the night scratching. Horrible experience:( I would've been more accepting with the problem if the motel offered a new room or some way to incentivize my stay but I didn't receive that. read more

Do not stay here. I made a reservation weeks early and when I pulled into the parking lot to check in around 8:30 pm, a man approached my car and began yelling at me. I then watched him try to get into 5 or 6 rooms before walking circles around my car and then hiding in a wooden shed structure in the parking lot. There was only one other car in the parking lot. I called the front desk from the parking lot and asked them to call the police after explaining what happened. They came out of the office and looked around and then went back inside. Upon checking in, we were told that we had 4 rooms reserved instead of the two we requested... We did not have any paperwork and/or booking ID for the extra two rooms... I asked that we be credited the two rooms and the woman at the desk said she couldn't since we didn't cancel within 48 hrs of arrival... (How can I cancel rooms I didn't know I had...??) Deciding that I would deal with this when I got back home, we checked in.... The room was smelly & musty, so much so it set off my asthma due to allergies to dust & mold... After coming home, I checked my CC# and the 4 room charge was still there...Called to have the 2 rooms credited and argued with the front desk again... In a town with few options, it's an ok place if you are only passing through and staying one night. Pretty clean. In addition to the often mentioned munchkin-height shower head, the sink is super low. Bed was a bit springy but sufficed. The exterior needs a major overhaul and some of the parking spaces are a wee tight. If you're staying in town a few nights, you'll be happier staying at the reaort hotel. read more

We rolled in 20 minutes to midnight. Hardeep waited up and she had us checked in fast. We were paying cash and said 41 was enough to cover the deposit. Our two queen bed room ran us $88.40 total. Decent room. A lot of extras: mini fridge, microwave, flat screen, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and lotion dispenser. Hair dryer, air conditioning and heat all worked. Continental breakfast from 7-10 and check out is 11 am. You won't find that at a 6'er. If your looking for lodging trying to boost your social status, this is not The Bellagio people. You won't find heated marble floors in the bathroom or mints left on your ...lol, but if you need a place to sleep and have a sh$t, shower and shave to get back on the road. Pros: The price was right. Good sized rooms. A really old hotel that is getting a much needed face lift. Comfortable once you look past the carpet needing a good clean. Walking distance to border/Peace Arch Park. The people were very friendly, their dinner smelled really good. Right next to the freeway. 30"+/- flat screen TV, lots of channels, Seattle news. Cons: The carpet needed cleaning really bad, the A/C didn't function properly, Morse Code is a lot faster than the WiFi here, 264 ping; 108Mb D/L; 96Mb U/L. The breakfast was very sparse. Initially I was scared, because of the strong smell of "curry spice" blasting from the front office. I almost vomited on check-in. It seems like if you are going to run a hotel in the US, you would understand that this smell is mostly disgusting to people that do not normally consume it. Have you ever had someone eat Doritos or corn nuts in a closed vehicle? Well..if you aren't eating then too it's incredibly gross! Anyway, I hope they read this and it helps them out. As far as the room goes it was very generic and had clean sheets that's all we were looking for. It was very average and a little old, but hey it was about $56.00..so don't expect much. Apart from the hotel owners staring at our every move it was ok. By the way eat breakfast at Al's diner next door. It's pretty good! read more

Stayed for 5 days in July 2017. Room was clean. Good bed (no sign of bed bugs - I always check wherever I stay). Good shower. Heard from a local that rooms had been recently renovated and it appeared so. Owners were very friendly and honest. Provided free detergent when I did a load of laundry. Continental breakfast was minimal but I don't care much about that. Will stay with them again the next time I'm in Blaine. read more

Best deal in Blaine if you are looking for an Inexpensive motel that is 20 minutes south to Bellingham Washington or 20 minutes north to Vancouver BC. Updated rooms that are kept spotless.. laundry available onsite and close to many places to dine or just relax and grab a drink. read more

Stay in Bellingham if you can. Literally anywhere is better than the crap that's available in Blaine. We were told there is absolutely no smoking in the room. No problem here, don't smoke, allergic to it. We were blasted by cigarette smoke smells upon opening the door. I turned on my heels and went straight back. The owners immediately defended the suite saying it had just been renovated (not the bedspread from the early 90's with holes in it!). Then as I'm leaving, realizing they really don't care, I see 2 men smoking right outside our room. I turn back, point this out, the wife then comes out talking to her husband about how they really should do something about this guy who keeps smoking on his balcony above our unit. No one is supposed to blah blah. No consequences, he is not going to stop lady. So what do they do? They TELL HIM I COMPLAINED. Yep, he came right over to our place, glared at me with a death stare through the window and turned on his heels. No compensation, nothing. Beds were good but the smell was horrific. All night long. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY HERE!! Posting this review wherever I can. Oh, to top it off, I asked for a 15 mins late check out and was denied. I said fine, I have to stay another night then. But then at 11:15 she calls saying "You have to pay now" and I say we're leaving. She legit told me I had to pay an extra night for being 15 mins late. I said "Seriously, you're going to charge me for 15 mins? How much then?" and she backed down. I could write a book obviously... read more

Nice clean room. Quiet and family run. We needed to iron some shirts and although there wasn't an iron or board in the room, I went to the desk and they brought one up to our room. We stayed for two nights and when we return to Canada, we'll stay here again. read more

It gets a star because of the convenient location off I-5. Bed was old and sagged as such. Bathroom door did not lock. No light fixture in the bathroom, just an exposed light bulb. No shower head, just a hose attachment. Shower "hose" head was too short for me and I'm 5'9. Credit card was charged prior to us checking in which orbitz claimed would not happen. When I pointed this out the front desk staff said it was her personal decision to do so. Continental breakfast very unimpressive, as continental breakfasts go. read more

Great value! Our room was very clean and offered all the amenities that one would expect and more. The owners were extremely accommodating and even left the premises to find my husband an iron he could use. I will gladly stay at the Northwoods the next time we are in the area. read more

My cousin booked this motel online, so I was a bit leery of what we would find. When we pulled in, my fears appeared to be confirmed. However, the folks in the front office were friendly and our room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Even though the motel is not far from the freeway, it was quiet and we slept well. For the price and the convenience of being so close to the border, this was great. read more

Great place to stay before crossing the boarder. The room was clean and the owners were very nice. We have a son in a wheelchair and they made sure that we had a ground level room that our son could get into. Very nice! With that all said, the hotel is definitely a little worn down and needs some updates and some maintenance. read more
