I expected more from a Marriott. We had to switch rooms because our room looked, smelled and felt dirty.

    Primary bathroom sink.

Had an incredible stay at this great hotel just minutes from downtown Bellingham. The lobby was clean and a modern standard issue for a Marriott with a great bar setup. The hotel is far enough off the main highway so there isn't any lingering road noise, but you're also just a quick drive to most of the great downtown restaurants. Breakfast was also served up hot and fresh with a great variety to choose from and start your day off right. The staff was great. Veronica at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure the room was just as I needed and was always extremely pleasant. The room was huge with way more space than I needed, including two sinks. (Seems to be some sort of local legal requirement perhaps?) The bathroom was recently remodeled which is always appreciated and the bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of plush pillows. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Bellingham!

Also has a small sitting area. Very nice for the price

For a chain motel, this one is very nice. We went to Bellingham for a wedding so of course needed to spend the night. The staff was very pleasant and helpful when we asked about various things. The hotel rooms are very modern and clean and the bed was very comfortable which is important. They have refrigerators and microwaves which means if you spend more than one night and want to bring some left over back with you to have later it's not a problem. One plus for the kids is an inside pool which is heated just a bit. The 11 year olds said it was fine. They also have a hot tub and what looked to be a nice gym. Didn't have much but if all you want is elliptical or treadmill, you're fine. Best part was the price - a senior rate of $118 per night. Can't beat that and it came with breakfast. Not a bad breakfast but had to have a 10 year old show me how to use the waffle iron and that certainly isn't the fault of the hotel.

Seriously the Townplace Suites side is $10 less per night but there is a door on each floor that connect the hallways.

The kitchen area was small and probably not enough to cook a meal, but was great for leftovers and microwave popcorn (provided!). The bed was comfy and they accommodated our request for more pillows. It's also dog friendly and our dogs loved it! All the staff we interacted with were great and there was lots of grass around the hotel for dog walks, even with stations that had garbage bins and dog bags. The toilet was the best part. They had like a $700 Japanese toilet attachment, it was awesome. Had heat, dry, seat warming, all kinds of stuff. I loved it and wish I had one at my house now. The furniture was a little old and dated, but no real issues. TV also only has basic channels with no option for anything else, so bring an HDMI if you want to connect to Netflix or streaming.

The staff I encountered were super professional and friendly. The breakfast staff were on. The. Ball. My room was so immaculate, if you'd told me I was the first person to ever stay there, I'd believe you. I switched from a room with two beds to one with one, and while it didn't affect price, I was glad to have just one bed and the staff made it super easy to do. The toilet in the restroom was a bidet. I have literally never used one before, so this was an...interesting experience. Who knows? Maybe the toilet that sprays your butt will be the one that sprayed mine. We're like, friends now. Bidet buddies. Budets? They do provide a laminated instruction sheet so operation of the bidet is easy. But you know that now, don't you? Budet? My region sprayed. Your region sprayed. Anywho, parking is a wee tight later in the day and at night. There is an amazing brunch spot across the parking lot, and.a sports bar at the bottom of the lot. There is an ample vending area in the lobby, and breakfast had many options, including a pancake machine and freshly ground coffee. The coffee was delicious, better than I've ever had at a hotel other than the Ritz Carlton in Arlington and a sketchy motel I stayed in once in Wall. I didn't use the pool, but I walked around and it was immaculate and busy. No pics cos there were kids that weren't mine so that felt cringey. Overall great hotel, wonderful room, 10/10, have already recommended to a friend traveling to Bellingham, would stay again.

Its only downfall is that it is…read moreactually hidden, tucked away in the industrial district off Iron Gate St. Our guests weren't sure they were in the right place when they arrived. However, no one got lost. Baker Creek Place is the best priced venue in Bellingham by far. For less than $1500, you can rent the entire building on a Saturday (the ball room plus the two meeting rooms) and get in at noon on Friday to set up. The rental includes tables and chairs for 200. If the venue isn't booked the Sunday after your wedding you can leave everything overnight and clean up the next morning. Angie, who oversees reservations, is a dream to work with. She responded to emails promptly and answered all our questions effectively. She arranged multiple tours of the venue for us, both before and after we had reserved it. It was helpful to be able to tour the venue more than once before booking and to get back inside closer to the wedding. The venue itself is a blank slate. There isn't much decoration in the ballroom so you can dress it up or down to suit your wedding vision. I was going for a more causal feel so most of my decorations were on the tables. Even with my minimal decoration the ballroom looked beautiful. We had 17 round tables set up plus a few for our vendors. There was ample room for our 140 guest to move around and a 12 x 12 dance floor. We got married in July so we chose to have the ceremony outside and I'm so glad we did. The trees behind the venue are a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding ceremony. They didn't look like much when I booked the venue in the winter, but on my wedding day the trees were stunning. Thank you Baker Creek Place! You made our wedding amazing!
