Do not go in the winter as the two restaurants that are normally open and have great food are closed. This was not conveyed before booking as well as when we arrived it was around 7pm and the guy at the front desk told us that the restaurants were open until 9pm. We were incredibly disappointed when we tried to go into the r restaurants and found that they were both closed for the winter. There was a cafe open but the food was terrible. It made the rest of the trip harder as you go to a resort for ease to not have to think about anything. Semiahmoo is far from more restaurants so trying to find a good restaurant you have to drive at least 25 minutes. It was very disappointing and I would suggest that you go when the restaurants are open. read more

LOVE the food - fresh, flavorful, fun! Beautiful view at dinner on the patio for my belated birthday celebration with our daughter and SIL. Very attentive service from Rick. Many times eating here when we vacation at Birch Bay and it's always a special treat. I had the 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell and a Caesar salad. Hubby had what he says was the best Cioppino ever, SIL had the Salish Seafood platter and daughter had the noodle curry dish (vegetarian). Yes, it's pricey but well worth it for special occasions. Large portions and shareable bites all around. I was actually excited to ask for, and receive the recipe for the mignonette sauce for the oysters. Just a beautiful evening! read more

RE: Semiahmoo Resort, Blaine, Wa Room 3142 Premier King, Water View It was my 60th birthday this weekend, 8/31 - 9/1/25 Negatives 1. Our Premier room was not ready when promised; we waited until almost 5 p.m. It did not appear that any of the staff cared. 2. When we got to our room, it was not clean--it looked superficially cleaned. We moved a cushion chair and found Froot Loops and other debris underneath. The couch had a strange odor, the shower was only half cleaned, and there was no corkscrew in the room. 3. The front fireplace was turned off, as if the hotel were trying to save money. It diminished the atmosphere, and it was off in the morning as well. 4. The outside grounds were not maintained and looked like a financially disadvantaged neighborhood. The lawn was patchy dirt and grass, with no edging or weeding. Very disappointing. Paint is peeling off the buildings on the beach side. 5. The drip coffee dispenser near the front desk and in the coffee shop was empty in the morning. Only lattes were available. 6. Our room keys stopped working in the morning, and we had to go to the front desk to reset them. The elevator also stopped working for a while in the morning; we had to use the stairs, and we were on the third floor. 7. The front desk charged our incidentals credit card for the full bill after we specifically asked them to use it only for extras. We had to get it corrected at checkout, and no apology was offered. Overall, the hotel feels like a Super 8 motel in a gorgeous location. Hats off to the real estate agent; shame on management and ownership. You took a beautiful hotel and ran it into the ground, and the staff didn't seem to care much about customers. I would rate the hotel 2 stars out of 5. Very sad. The price does not match the value provided, way overpriced. A Holiday Inn Express offers higher-quality service. Positives 1. Food quality was still great. 2. The hotel's setting, surrounded by water on three sides, is beautiful. 3. Room sizes are decent. As a business executive who always looked forward to Semiahmoo Resort to relax and reset, I have no intention of returning, even though it was my favorite place over the years. The property has become so run down that I will recommend my friends and business associates to stay elsewhere. Rooms Room was a decent size, great view, but dirty with food remaining from prior guests under our furniture. A couple power outlets did not work, furniture was dated and the couch had a musky odor. Nearby activities A lot of activities for kids. Grounds and the hotel were both run down and unmaintained, bldgs on the water side were peeling a lot of paint. The grass was more dirt than grass. Very abandoned park looking. Walkability The grounds were lacking everything. The beach was nice, the pub was nice. Walking outside looked like an abandoned park without landscapers. Very disappointing. Food & drinks The food and drinks are top notch. Noteworthy details This is like staying at a Super 8 motel at a beautiful location, without landscapers, reduced staff, 2 star out of 5 quality customer service, hotel is falling apart; elevator failed, room was falling apart, furniture was old. read more

This review makes me sad because this property used to be so great. It is like a ghost town. Few guests. Very limited staff (but they were awesome). The biggest negative is the lack of a restaurant on property. There is a little cafe for coffee and lite fare, but I don't consider this a restaurant. The nearby golf course restaurant (10 minute drive) is more like a sports bar. The food was just ok and they were out of about half of the entrees. For a resort this remote a decent fully stocked restaurant is a must. If you want anything on property between 9 pm and 7 am you are out of luck unless you buy from the overpriced shelf items by the front desk. Even coffee in the lobby would have been appreciated for those of us up before 7. 15 minute drive to coffee. The spa is nice, but facilities outdated. Again, staff were great. Nice yoga and tai chi classes. It really feels like the place is struggling. Big resort prices without resort amenities. read more

My fiancé and I regularly visit Semiahmoo both in-season and off-season, and this most recent visit did not meet the standard of service that we typically experience when visiting. I wanted to share some feedback regarding the recent closure of Packer's and the decision to route dining services through the Seaview Café. While we understand the need for a limited menu during the offseason, the current setup has resulted in a disappointing guest experience. During my recent visit, I waited approximately 20 minutes in line just to place an order for a Caesar salad and fries. When the salad arrived 20 minutes later, it came without the dressing, which led to, an additional 45-minute wait in another line just to receive the dressing. Many guests ahead of me eventually left before being served or even ordering, suggesting that this experience was not unique. To be clear, my concern is not with the staff, as Anika, Asia, Kellie, Shy, and others were courteous and hardworking throughout, despite the fact that they were having to navigate the many complaints that were being directly towards them regarding the dining set-up. The issue appears to be operational, stemming from insufficient staffing or process design to handle guest volume efficiently. Not only was our dining experience impacted by the closure of Packers, but our overall experience was as well. One of our favorite activities on our frequent offseason visits is enjoying board games and drinks with the weather-protected indoor view from Packers. Along with not having it available for dining, it was very disappointing to not even have access to this space throughout our stay. I hope management will consider reviewing the current dining setup and exploring ways to improve throughput, perhaps by reopening Packer's in some capacity or streamlining Seaview's ordering and fulfillment process. It would go a long way toward maintaining the quality and convenience that guests have come to expect. Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback. My wife and I went to the day spa here. It's $20 per person which is on the high end of a reasonable price, considering you get access to the sauna, gym, pickleball court, and pool. However, considering all these amenities, they only give you ONE TOWEL; that's ONE TOWEL to use to dry off using the gym, that's only ONE TOWEL to use for the sauna, that's only ONE TOWEL to use after the pool, and ONE TOWEL to use for the final shower. Any person would need at least two towels, especially a hairy guy like me. The receptionist was a daffy teenager who rolled her eyes at me when I had to beg for a second towel for my wife. Also, they locked my clothes into a locker and didn't tell me that it was a spa member's locker. So when I went to get my clothes out of prison, they then told me that day-spa users get their own locker and they gave me a key. They should have told me that first. However, this experience made me laugh. All the machines in the gym worked. The facilities were generally pretty clean. My wife's shower experience was subpar. The middle stall to the right side had speckles of black mold on the ceiling and paint was peeling off as well. The shampoo dispenser was empty! The complimentary coffee smelled and tasted like burnt cigarettes-- but I'm a coffee snob. I'll be back next month. read more

Came here for a yoga retreat with a group of friends. The best part about this place is its location and the serene views of the water & mountains. The rooms are recently renovated and spacious. The food was a bit of a hit or miss but overall better than I expected. The staff are new (or so it seems) and could benefit from a bit more training. There is a limited list of things to do on and off the property, but it is good in case you are looking for a spot to decompress, go on long walks along the beach, enjoy the bonfire and s'mores, and alike. Overall, had pretty mixed feelings about this resort/hotel. There are definitely areas that could use improvements and some nice highlights if you're into doing activities with the family, partner, and/or friends. Pros of the Resort - Parking: Huge lot in front of the hotel... there is even an overflow lot if needed - Outdoor Activities: Convenient location to do activities such as: Golfing, Walking, Hiking, Checking out the beach/water, Water sports (kayaking, paddle boating), decent tennis & pickleball court, volleyball court - Gym/Fitness Center: Really nice set up with plenty of machines, indoor track and fitness classes - Complimentary S'mores Kits: If you feel like making s'mores, there are limited free kits provided by the resort. Do note if you want to reserve a private fire pit, it will cost $$$$. Otherwise, public fire pits (away from the rocks) are free and first come first serve - Services: There are free nightly movie showings for adults and kids, spa treatments and bike rentals - Canada View: It's pretty cool to see Canada on the other side of the waters Cons of the Resort - Check in Time: Waited close to 45min past the 4pm checked in time for my room. Not sure why there was a delay (since the staff couldn't get explain the issue). Ended up getting a "promised" $50 credit that later had to be disputed since the credit didn't get applied. - Limited Dining Options: If you're a foodie.... Gotta say this area is extremely limited in dining options. Closest decent restaurants are located in Canada. For the places near the resort, food can be a hit or miss and are pretty expensive. No options for Ubereats and order via Doordash is risky as your order is likely to be canceled due to lack of drivers. - Resort Food: If you want reasonably priced food options, see the following notes - If you want to get breakfast, highly recommend skipping the resort main restaurant and go somewhere else. For lunch, definitely recommend visiting the resort cafe, located across the hotel. Solid sandwiches and soup options there. For dinner, a lot of nearby places close early, so you'll likely eat at the resort restaurant which has decent but pricey dinner options. - Room & amenities: Overall, was a bit disappointed with the room and amenities. For a regular room, there was no fridge/microwave/ice bucket, limited outlets and quality of products (shampoo, lotion) were a bit on the low end. The room itself had a weird musty smell and it was pretty tough to adjust and maintain a comfy temperature. The bedding and towels were a bit thin and rough. - WiFi: Very spotty connection - gave up after the first night and found my cellphone connection to be more reliable Staff: Hit or miss... some where friendly and some were a bit standoffish. Also, do note that there is no staff to help you with unloading / moving things to your room. All self service and there are trolleys you can use to wheel your stuff to your room. We've stayed twice in the past 12 months.... It will unfortunately be our last. 3* because they allowed our dog. Room was clean. Lobby was nice. Front desk personal were friendly. Waited about 25 minutes to check in. I prepaid for our room with Expedia, I knew I'd have to pay the resort fee when I checked in. But I have $1,200 in charges from the hotel and can't get anyone to give me a breakdown on what I'm being charged for. Last July when I visited I was charged twice for my 1 night stay. It took about 3 months for them to credit our credit card back. I'm assuming it'll take this long again to get an answer for the extra $1,200 in charges. Also booked an ocean view 2 queen room but our view was of the parking lot. read more

Came here for my 37th birthday. My husband had called prior to our arrival and was told our room was ready and thus early check in would be ok. We arrived at about noon but was told that our room was not ready. No big deal, but after a long drive and told it would be ready, it was a slight bump in the road. The staff was super friendly. Very accommodating and professional. They have little activities for the kids like find the elf on the shelf and a mini scavenger hunt. Once completed, you get to choose a dum dum pop. They also gave away a free winter frame craft and a very generous s'more kit to use at the bonfire. All of these touches made my 5 year old happy. The swimming pool is half (more like 1/4) indoors and the rest outdoors. It is "heated" but with the cold temperatures (45 degrees) I feel like it could be slightly more heated. Brrr thankfully there is a shower room and it has a nice selection of toiltrees so we were able to take a nice warm shower and walk back warm in the robes provided in the room. There were restaurants on site and the staff were nice and the food was good (although slightly overpriced). My husband got flowers delivered from a local florists and the staff was friendly enough to place it in our room and also provide a bottle of wine. The resort is nice but there does seem to be "rough" spots. The windows were dirty, tons of chipped paint, and a dated look. The room however is very comfortable. We stayed in a water view room and it had a separate living area with a pull out couch. The bed was comfy, although I wish they had a little thicker pillows :) Overall a pretty nice stay and I would suggest this place to friends if they are looking for a little get away read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS DUMP. 1. Deleted our reservation for a milestone birthday dinner made months before for a last minute wedding. 2. Put our room right on top of said wedding party and allowed music to be BLARING until 11pm with two small children in our room (video bellow shows the volume). Their only solution was to move us into a worse room with not enough bed space for us all. The initial response was "there nothing we can do". 3. Restaurant staff is incredibly rude, the host said they don't do take out because they are so backed up (there was no one in the restaurant.) 4. The front desk is run by teenagers who have no idea how to do anything. They insisted the restaurant did do take out. 5. The entire time we have been here we have been right next to the front entrance and it has smelled like bad cologne and there has been CONSTANT noise because all of the wedding preparations. 6. 100 dollars a night for incidentals is criminal. Hire adults, learn what room blocking is, understand your facilities enough to inform your guests the right information when they first ask you, not after you have run around like a chicken with your head cut off to get answers. Also the ice is in bags and not where it's listed in the hallways. I don't see this place getting better though. It looks straight out of 2003 and the service and amenities are terrible. Wasted 1000 dollars don't make my mistake! The ice cream is good. read more

I was here a few times over the years for various conference stays and was never super impressed with anything a side from the location and peace. But we saw it had been upgraded as far as the rooms and we liked the location so in March my law firm hosted a retreat for our staff here. Overall, it was much better than I expected - very good service for everything we needed, catering, conference room setup, spa and guest rooms/ease of having it all go through the firm for payment. We coordinated menus in advance and the options were good. The food was very solid, the location is beautiful, and I'm happy to say I would recommend it for a group gathering or your own trip. Wow! If it wasn't for the location this place would be closed! The property is very run down and lacks the most basic maintenance. I wish that was the only issue but its not. The staff is unbelievably incompetent. Check in was bad but I gave some grace because it was busy. It never got better. Each time we came into the property the staff never looked up from there phones to even acknowledge our presence. We truly felt like they thought we were doing them a favor by being there. When we had some issues with the staff we were completely dismissed. I would not recommend spending your hard earned money somewhere that does not appreciate your business. This beautiful resort slowly grows on you. The exterior looks a little dated when you first arrive but once you are captured by the beauty of your surroundings and the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere of the resort it's truly magical. We came for three days with our family that included 4 grandkids ages 2 to 8. They loved running around the grounds, searching for shells and rocks on the water, climbing on the drift wood and playing all the fun games spread throughout the resort. The pool was also a special treat. The best for me were the sunsets with the bonfires prepared for us by the staff. Of course the kids could not get enough of the s'mores! Omg I will share a few of those sunsets with you. We ate at the Packers bar and restaurant snuggled up next to the water at the resort. The bar food was perfect for the family with a better selection than the restaurant. Watching seals pop up their heads while eating there was a special treat. It was a fun family time and hope someday to be able to return. Did I mention that the rooms were updated and the beds very comfy? Our balcony with the view of the water could not have been better. We had a fantastic Memorial Day Weekend at Semiahmoo Resort. Yelpers are really selling this place short! Everything about this resort was a joy. Check-in was quick and easy, friendly and helpful. Our room was really sweet. I didn't see pictures online of the fridge and the coffee maker so I'll give you a tip that there is a micro-fridge and a Keurig coffee maker in the room. There's also a microwave near the lobby (which was just a few doors down from our room) if you want to bring something to reheat. Our dog-friendly room came with a large dog bed and a bowl. The room opened out onto the beach which was convenient for letting our girl do her business. The room even had a fireplace! There were little events throughout each day run by the resort. If you supply your cell phone number you'll get little texts during the day like "Outdoor movie at 8 pm" or "Popsicle happy hour in the lobby!" which was cute. The onsite dining is kind of limited (there's a little coffee shop with take-out sandwiches and Packers, see separate reviews for that.) We did bring some snack to have in our room but there are also some snacks for sale in the little shop in the lobby. One of my favorite parts was the beach. At low tide, you can walk out pretty far and explore the tide flats. There's also a walking path all along the spit, so you can take a nice long walk and take in the views. We didn't take advantage of the equipment rentals, but they have bikes you can borrow (I think that's included in the resort fee) as well as kayaks and SUPs you can rent (I think that's an extra fee.). The best part was the campfires. I love a good campfire. Each evening the staff builds three campfires on the beach, and there are smores kits available at the front desk. Just pull up a chair and make new friends. You could tell who had been here before because they came prepared with their wine, snacks, etc. for an evening by the campfire! I really can't find much to complain about. I agree the price is a little steep, but I think they offer a really unique atmosphere and amenities you won't find elsewhere. Freezing rooms no blankets. Room fridge froze our food (front desk kindly said they'd bring us some hard-boiled eggs and a couple apples to replace some of what we lost). Packer's Restaurant on campus serves very small portions at scary high prices. Pool is surprisingly small, hot-tub looks great, but the smell of chlorine was profound, so no way. Saunas are not co-ed. Nice location if you don't mind freezing in the room and paying high prices for small servings. read more

Semiahmoo is my happy place, and I've been going there for decades. I'm now in my early 40's, but growing up 10 minutes away, I'd come here with friends often. Later, I'd go annually for a cardiac conference, always staying an extra night. It was my first overnight trip with my now husband. We got engaged there two years later. Now, we go to Semiahmoo twice a year with our small children for R&R.. I think I have a unique view of what Semiahmoo once was vs now. I've seen it through three owners. What was Pierside is now Packers restaurant. Across the hail, you'll find the bar. The "Cheers" style is gone, but it's nice. What used to be the fine dining spot, Stars, is now a place for events. The Spa, pool, and conference areas, have largely remained the same. The Library has less board games and puzzles, but now has a pool table. They have made the tiny walk-up coffee stand into a cafe, where you'll also find complimentary apple cider between 3 & 5pm. The old green carpet and decor is now blue. The building shows signs of wear, and I've noticed that "fixes" were more like just painting over the rough spots, instead of replacing them. The pool area especially shows signs of wear, with paint pealing from the walls, rotten spots on the fence, and a roof over the pool that appears to be caving in. Housekeeping is by request only. I've stayed in every room type. My favorite is any of the water view. Our room was clean and nicely appointed, but oddly, the bathroom smelled like cat urine, like someone locked their pet in there. There was an old cigarette smell, that when brought to the staff's attention so we wouldn't be charged, I was told it was coming from the bonfire. This was an ashtray, and I suspect this was either previously a smoking room, or previous guests tried to open the windows and smoke out of them. I asked on two occasions to change rooms, but was told the hotel was fully committed. As such, we just had to plug our noses. An activity added in recent years, is the "Smore's kit" from the front desk. Weather permitting, staff will light bonfires on the area near Packers. Since our last visit, they also have opened a "community bonfire" area which is open until 11pm. While I loved the idea, I couldn't for the life of me understand why it was placed smacked in middle of the resort. It gets VERY loud and rowdy, and what used to be more of a retreat, has now turned into a drunk frat party vibe until the staff kills it at 11pm. Anyone who gets a waterview room will now be subjected to this noise. Be prepared, or bring earplugs. Packers has great food. You MUST make reservations days in advance if you are visiting on a weekend. As much as we enjoyed the food, we found the menu very limited and incredibly overpriced. On Sunday, my son ordered from the kids menu, my daughter had pepperoni pizza, I had the one pasta offered and added chicken, and my husband had the steak. My husband and I each had one cocktail. No dessert. No appetizers. Our bill was $153 BEFORE tip, which was an additional $30. I truly hope Semiahmoo is paying their servers appropriately if they are charging these amounts. Our server, Clarissa, was excellent both nights. At this time, Packers is NOT serving breakfast or lunch, which is disappointing. You have an in-room option at the price of $18 for continental break per person plus an additional $9 if you want to add a breakfast sandwich. Otherwise, go to Seaview and get the breakfast sandwich yourself. They serve locally sourced ingredients, but again, your choices are quite limited. There's a microwave on each floor (NOT in room), a Keurig, and a small fridge in your room. The huge pool is heated to 84 degrees year round. The hot tub is undercover. We appreciated being able to use the pool and facilities after checkout, Staff working at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I love activities offered in the resort now. They had wine tasting, a bird watching tour, and bicycles available for free use. I enjoyed the sheets they gave us that listed the happenings of each day. Weather can be labile in the area, so pack accordingly. I always bring a rain jacket and boots. As far as COVID precautions go, I do take notice since I'm an ER nurse in Seattle actively caring for sick COVID patients. There's sanitizer in the public places and signs saying masks are required, however, I did not see masks being enforced. If that's important to you, it may be something to consider. This is a dog-friendly resort, but those rooms are limited, so you must call in advance. Oh, and the resort fee includes WiFi and parking! Will I come back? Absolutely. Every year. With some small tweaks, Semiahmoo could be back to its good old glory days. read more

Honestly a bit underwhelmed by the whole place. Came here for my husband's 30th birthday. We had a King water view room, which felt like any standard hotel room, but perhaps a bit more spacious. The set up of the room was nice, as the bed faced the window, so when lying down, all you can see is the water and horizon. We opened the window on arrival to listen to the live music that was playing, but it took both of us to close the window with a great deal of effort as it didn't fit in the frame right. There are no ice machines available to guests (that we could find anyway) instead there are large freezers full of prebagged ice. I really liked the prebagged ice, but there were no ice buckets in the room. We ended up just throwing the bags in the top shelf of the fridge in the room. When we showered in the morning, we discovered there was no shampoo in the dispenser. We did have conditioner though. These are all pretty small things, but for the price, I would expect them to be taken care of. We went out and walked along the small beach area in front of the fire pits and collected some sea glass. The weather was great and the views were pretty nice as it was a clear day. We had dinner at Black Forest Steakhouse, which we highly recommend to anyone staying at Semiahmoo. Its a short drive into Blaine, and the price of the food is on par for other restaurants of that quality. We found things to do to have fun, but ultimately the cost of the room was over priced in my opinion. I'd visit the area again, but likely wouldn't stay here. The "resort" is a ran down 90s hostel vibe, like you went with your dad to his business conference. The room was dirty, we had dead bugs and ants. Our window in our door leaked. We were in the dog friendly wing of the hotel which meant barking all the time. Awful Worst part was the pool and the "amenities" - pool was cold, when we got out and went to locker rooms to change there were boys at least 10 years old with their mother in the locker room- extremely inappropriate having a preteen daughter and the entire experience was a let down. We had a gift card and when we called to book they informed us we couldn't use it towards our hotel stay. So we booked golf, spa and ate at the restaurant.... The day we check out the lady at the front desk informs us the gift card absolutely could have gone towards our room. Entire place felt like a rip off- small beachfront. People everywhere, yappy dogs barking 24/7. Not relaxing by any means, not quite sure why people love this place??? It was overpriced, food was sub par and it was just a place where parents were drinking while their kids ran all over the hotel. Also pictures online do not show justice to how aged this "resort" it. It is truly tired and outdated. All the menus online are outdated and wrong. Pricing add anywhere from$3-8 per item, completely changed their menus and took some stuff off- the lack of attention to detail was underwhelming. I would not stay here again. My husband loved the golf course but that's about all we would go back for, and it's outrageously priced. read more

Let me start by saying, I rarely write poor reviews. This place was Old and dated, we came for my birthday over 4th of July weekend. I called ahead to make sure restaurants, gym, pool, Hot tub, spa....their services were open and operating they "yes" before making our reservation, which could not be cancelled once making. Also, we were forced to pay for three nights due to 4th if July. When we arrived told us gym was closed, pool closed, hot tub closed, only little store in resort was open for take out food only and there was one other restaurant, Blue Heron, the only other restaurant open at the resort was taking only 25% capacity and you needed to make reservation at front desk. Front desk told us you need to go to restaurant when they open at 4 to make reservation, when we did arrive at restaurant they told us they were full....there was nowhere else to go nearby:(. A real bummer. The bikes they offered to rent were taken most of the time. I believe they over sold their rooms and didn't have proper services to offer guests. We did not get view rooms, thus our room looked over parking lot. Our room was dark, no light, even with drapes open. My sons stayed in another room down the hall and they had natural sun light, but their heat was stuck on, and their thermostat was not working, they did inform front desk. Our deck was full of dirt and tree branches. Bulbs needed replacing, surge protector didn't work for phone charging... I did let the front desk know this. I would say if the price was $99 per night, it would be fair and I would not make any complaints, but we paid top dollar:( Positive things were: Their free s'mores pack for you to make over campfire. Due to the 100% booking during our stay, it was hard to get a spot, but after 9pm we were successful one night. Just lovely! Those two words are perfect to describe the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA. This was a "stay-cation" as they say (especially with gas prices...don't get me started...) and it was perfect! These are just a few of the things I love: * It is a gorgeous location! We had a room overlooking the water and it is pretty fantastic! Now, let's add YOU ARE RIGHT ON THE BEACH! Oh my gosh! What they might not mention is just exactly how cool the long walking path also is that connects to the resort! It hugs the coastline of the spit and is incredibly safe! * The rooms are delightful! Cozy without being cloying. Super clean without seeming "clinical". The bedding is so comfy! I know, I know, we all have our own "pillow issues". Between you and me, their pillows rock! I am a feather pillow person and these are not, and yet they are still SO COMFY...if a few disappear upon my departure, you never saw this review... ; ) kidding...probably... * OH MY GOSH! THE SPA!!! Seriously, this is a seriously great spa! It is huge without seeming like a "big box spa". My masseuse, Amanda; book her! She is...wow! Here is another thing I love, they have all of their technicians, with pictures and, their credentials, in frames as you walk in. Again, this is seriously not a "spa-in-a-box". Love that! * There are so many groovy outside things to do like giant chess sets, cornhole, and smores around a fire pit! Oh, and they are INCLUDED! They even have board games you can borrow! I know this because the gal in front of me was trading in "Shoots and Ladders" for "Sorry" ...or "Trouble" not sure what her final decision was. * Food is more than fair! Love the fish tacos! Their honey-vanilla yogurt, fruit, and baked fabulousness in their continental breakfast (that shows up at your door so you can sip and munch while trying to put your makeup on) is a gift from the gods! Even when the restaurant was crazy-busy, they kept their cool and kept smiling. One of the servers, a lovely gal with a subtle flame tattoo on her arm, was working her bottom off and still able to pay attention to the details, how cool is that? The same can be said of Miss Mary in the bar. They are both assets to that place! * And... alert the media...their employees rock! No, I am talking about "pre-pandemic-rock!" They smile. They happily answer questions. They take an actual interest in their clientele. WHO KNEW? Erin and Octavia, at the front desk, were so helpful and accommodating! Oh, update, Erin is actually part of the management team! Love her ability to model great client service without that "do you know who I am?" thing. Seriously, the GM should hire them out to train some of the nicer hotels in Seattle, who clearly do not understand the whole "we want you to visit" vibe as well as they do at S-Moo! Yay! Stay here! It is fantastic! Rates are more than fair! And, you can dash up from Seattle or Everett on the Cascade Amtrack (my husband and daughter did for less than $30 each!) Take an UBER from the Fairhaven Station and be playing on the beach in no time at all! Ooh! You can grab a coffee at Tony's in Fairhaven while you wait for your ride! We loved it. But the service gets overwhelmed on busy weekends. We went on Memorial weekend. The resort was sold out and there is only one restaurant onsite. Food was great. But it took a very long time if you dined in to receive your food. ~30mins at least. We made sure to order take out 45 mins before we were ready to eat. They don't clean the rooms everyday anymore. You have to request new towels. Regardless, we enjoyed it. Great place to get away and make memories. Swam, played soccer, made friends, ate delicious food, went across the border, and much more. The staff is also very friendly. We have been here a few times and plan on going back. 5 for experience, decor, location and cost. 4 for service. Overall 5. read more
