We stayed here while in town for a funeral. It was a nice place for downtime when emotions were already high. Conveniently located near restaurants, gas stations, and the main drive through this part of Saginaw. The room itself had a split bathroom with toilet in one room and shower in another. Really nice layout! Only gave it 4 stars because the room had a smell when you first walk in and the wallpaper seams were peeling. read more

I so badly want to give this place a 5. Their breakfast is amazing and their staff are super friendly. One of my kids is slightly allergic to milk. This is the first hotel I've ever been to that offered oat milk! Kudos on that front. The rest of the breakfast is slightly better than average with oatmeal, hot sandwiches, bagels, and the standard wafflemaker. The rooms are incredibly spacious. Two queen beds and a couch? Yes please! The setup is pretty weird though. A toilet and sink in one room and sink and shower in another. They have the trendy "barn door", a door on tracks. While the idea is neat, this means no way to lock the door for privacy. And without an exhaust fan, there is 0 privacy at all. One major reason I can't give them a 5 is security. The doors do not shut completely on their own. They close about 95% of the way, appear locked, but never fully latch. If you didn't notice, someone could push their way in. Two other areas of improvement are the pool and outside lights. When we first arrived ALL of the outside lights were off. We seriously thought they were having a power outage. It made it incredibly dangerous to drive onto the property or be in the parking lot being pitch black. The front desk staff did eventually take care of it. They also mentioned it's been a problem since the time change, almost a month ago. The problem with the pool is how cold it was. Below 80 for sure, probably closer to 75. My kids were able to get in for a few minutes, but not long. Oh well, maybe next trip! read more

I'm on the fence about this location. Upon checkin I had to sign a "contract"-like form that I agreed to their policies- first time staying at any Marriott property where I've seen anything like this, despite being a Marriott gold elite for years. I'm wondering if maybe this is a bad part of town where they've had trouble in the past? The front desk worker must have been new, o was trying to pay with a Marriott gift card that she seemingly wasn't trained on how to do; and with no manager on duty, I had to speak with the morning manager the next day to get it sorted out. Unfortunately when I visited, despite the state's moratorium on pool closures having ended a few weeks earlier, their pool was closed- and they couldn't point me towards any nearby sister proprieties they cross-honor pool privileges. The pool was the reason I booked this location, yet they didn't post anything on the Marriott app they their pool was closed. Unfortunately breakfast was a brown bag; wish they'd do the server hot breakfast like some other hotels do until buffets can return. Stayed here this past weekend. Thursday-Sunday. Price was great due to the wedding booking out almost the whole hotel. Room-Booked a king but got a double suite. Was so tired that I didn't even both complaining. And honestly, a few nights where no one could touch me and I could flip around on the bed however I wanted...not gonna pass that up. The room itself was spacious for a hotel room. Nice sitting area with a couch that turned into a trundle/daybed. Desk area. Fridge, of course. A wall divide that area from the bed. The bathroom was divide in 2. A toilet and sink behind one pocket door and sink and nice sized shower behind another pocket door. Perfect for people who really need privacy in the bathroom. HUGE closet and the most storage I've seen in a hotel room. Beds were comfy. AC worked great. Water pressure was definitely the best I've had in a hotel. Breakfast-Kind of assumed it would be mediocre. Assumed wrong. Of course the normal cereals and breads stuff but scrambled eggs and sausage. Waffles on the weekend. Oatmeal. Amazing scones. Coffee was also really good. Amenities-Didn't make it to the pool but it and the hot tub were small but nice. Small exercise room. Two really nice outdoor seating areas. Huge fire pit. Service-All the staff we encountered were great. Got too directions to a place to eat one night. Was able to check out at 4am. We were here for a wedding and the whole family had to be at least 50% of the booking if not more. We had a hospitality suite with drinks and snacks and what not. It was always open. Huge thanks to the staff for putting up with us and gently kicking us out of the lobby at 11:30 one night. :) One not great thing happened but it allows me to give kudos to the night manager. We got back from the wedding close to midnight. Crashed in bed. Then around 1:30am I hear a banging on the door. Stumbling over and opening it, I see 3 sherrif's officers outside my door in the hallway. They kindly told me everything was alright and go back to bed. I did. I asked the manager at checkout a very short 3 hours later what happened since they woke me up. Turns out another patron decided it would be a good idea to punch his wife/SO and then run away. The manager was not having violence on his watch and called police. Good on him. I doubt I'll be back in the Saginaw area anytime soon but if I am then I would absolutely stay here. read more

Spring hills have become my go to. I love that they have a sofa in addition to your bed. Great military rates available as well. Microwaves & fridge in room which is always convenient. Only reason for a 4 star is because of their pool situation. It's a bit crowded and small. They says adults only from 10-11 yet they said they couldn't tell kids to leave if they were with their parents. That doesn't make any sense at all. So first and foremost. The staff here are absolutely phenomenal. A lady named Pam checked us in and it was after midnight which most places people are just miserable at that hour. This woman was so friendly, helpful, professional and above and beyond. The woman working the breakfast area was constantly on the go and refilling, cleaning, chatting and just also phenomal. The breakfast was adequate. Typical options. They had an oatmeal bar which was nice addition. The room cleanliness however less desirable. The floor definitely needs vacuuming and there are stains everywhere on the carpet. The wallpaper is beginning to separate from the wall. The room layout is super odd but it was needed for the amount in our party (2 adults 3 kids). The elevator clunks loudly as if it's going to break down. The appearance of the lobby is very nice and clean. They have an outdoor fire pit which is nice but it doesn't throw much heat so can't really sit out there in the winter. The pool is small but we weren't around to use it much anyway. It entertained the kiddos at the end of the night to burn off more energy. The area the hotel is in seems safe, clean, and nice. This place has really great staff and amenities. Beautifully decorated and clean. It really is a great hotel in a fantastic location for the price. The rooms are suites so they have microwaves and refrigerators. They are large sized and very cozy and have a sofa that can pull out into a bed. One room with two queen sized beds can sleep 4-5 people easily. The toilet room and shower room are separated which is a nice touch if you want the split bathroom. The breakfast isn't bad. There is complimentary tea and coffee and candy suckers in the front lobby. This is the second time we have been at this hotel in saginaw. The first time was such a good experience that my mom, when it came to booking a second time here on saginaw, only looked at booking this one. We will definitely come back!!! read more

Agreed on both reviewers. Beautiful hotel with a modern feel. Friendly staff. Walls are quite thin and can hear neighbors leaving rooms with such heavy doors/latches. Breakfast was a free for all since we came during a youth soccer tourney. Pleased that they had sausage and scrambled eggs. A man can't live on waffles alone. Recommend getting a room in the corner on the third floor limiting the number of neighbors you have. Target was across the street which made the wife wet her pants...Walmart, Fashion Square Mall, and quite a number of restaurants close by. Zhenders Waterpark and Birch Run Outlet is about 20 minutes away. read more

Worst place! Our fridge in our room didn't work. My partner has diabetes and needed his medicine cold. The electricity on my side of the bed didn't work. I have no problem paying full price for a room that is fully functional. The front desk guy Jimmy was very rude and said the only reason we complained about stuff not working is because we wanted something for free. I asked him to write his name down and he refused and told me he didn't have a pen and wouldn't write his name. Would not recommend this place as they don't care about their guests. read more

Absolutely beautiful! Modern decor, spacious with many amenities, first class! Soundproof walls, absolutely not. There has to be some type of flaw in the structure of this building. You can hear absolutely everything from your neighbors room. It's as if you are in the same room! This was the worst nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel. I could hear my neighbors conversation, toilet flushing, doors opening/closing and other sounds that I don't need to discuss. So sad, because this place is gorgeous and reasonably priced. I truly hate to give this place only two stars, but you will not get a good nights sleep here. I'm not sure how, but I hope this issue can be fixed. read more

One of the quietest hotels I have ever seen. This was not for the lack of guest. The parking lot was parked full. I also found out, the next morning, there were quite a few kids just a few rooms down from us. There were no doors slamming, no one running the halls, no loud drunks. The previously mentioned items have always been issues at much more expensive and higher star rated hotels. The breakfast was very good. A nice mix of hot items and cold. Every employee we came into contact with was very nice. When we come back to the area we will be choosing this hotel to stay in. read more

I checked in Thursday night 08/08 and the room was perfect. I had a funeral to to Friday morning & left around 9:30am. Upon arriving back around 5pm: #1: the door would not unlock with my key card. Had to go back downstairs & get my key reactivated and go back up. #2: housekeeping did not clean my room (trash can still full, bed still unmade & my wet towels were still in the bathroom). Come to Saturday 08/10: left room before 9:30am, returned around 1:30pm with lunch & key once again would not let me in room, had to once again go downstairs & get my key reactivated. get into the room & it was still untouched. left after 2pm & back by 4pm...room still untouched. Last night's clerk was friendly and really helpful with all our questions. The rooms were clean and new, the morning breakfast did the trick. You might want to lower the chlorine content in the pool, bathing suits still smell 24 hours later. Also, some more snacks in the lobby market. Like maybe an orange and some cheese and crackers? My room 209 3/1-6/21 had GROSS amounts of thick headboard, bedside table lamp, door handle and TV dust accumulation; greasy sticky fingerprints on desk partition and bedside table lamp base; malodorous carpet with multiple red stains; refrigerator base cabinet mold and dried green liquid. Someone was locked out and banging, drilling and sawing went in for hours in the night. Housekeepers were not wiping high contact points. My trust for a safe, clean, peaceful enjoyment stay was broken. My corporate suggestion to watch their cameras and acknowledge my complaints were not resolved. I wish I could remove the 1 star in this review & post the COVID PETRI DISH pictures I emailed & mailed to them. read more

When I found out I picked up work in the region, I knew I would be back to this SpringHill Suites. This time, I was working with a friend so got him a room as well. At first he questioned staying in Saginaw (bit of a drive to both jobs), after check in, he completely understood. This hotel was just as I remembered from my stay in August. Clean, quiet with a terrific staff. I even remembered some of the staff from my last visit and like the last time, they were happy and helpful-a telling sign for any business. I love the way SpringHill Suites lays out a room. The work and sleeping area's are designed to adjust to whatever your work habits are. The desk is spacious (with plenty of outlets). If you rather work from a couch or the bed, both have movable stands if you like to have your computer, a drink or snacks nearby. The tv swivels towards both areas, in case you're half working. Since this was a Saturday night stay, the hotel was much more full. The breakfast area was busy, but continually restocked and kept clean the entire time. As I mentioned in my last review, while not huge, the fitness center includes dumbbells and a bench (along with the cardio equipment) so you can do some weight training as well as cardio. In addition to my coming back, my co worker is also sold. Look forward to staying at this SpringHill next time I come through. read more

I went from 1 star to 5 stars in two days all because of the fantastic manager and employees. Brandi from the front desk and Michael Smith the hotel manager, went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience here even after an accidental overbooking. When I first arrived I was really frustrated and angry because I got 'walked' (moved) to a different hotel (20 miles away) due to the overbooking. I was moved to the Fairfield Inn in Frankenmuth and Vicky at the front desk really started turning things around for me. That Fairfield is a very nice hotel by the way. Turns out that Michael Smith used to manage that hotel as well. Then I moved back to the Springhill Suites to be closer to work and this is when my experience got even better. Mike called to apologize, got me some snacks and made me feel really welcome. Brandi at the front desk was also super nice and helpful, she told me about a nice park nearby when she saw me looking for places to take a walk. The next day at breakfast, Mike was walking around making all the guests feel welcome. It's no surprise that this hotel was really clean and well maintained. I will absolutely come back and stay here again next time I'm in this area. read more

Beautiful hotel that is quiet. Good Wi-fi, pleasant staff overall a very good experience. The only negative I have is the breakfast options. They had a sign posted for options like blueberry muffins and cinnamon raisin bagels but in those places were English muffins. Yes this is a little complaint but I would have loved a blueberry muffin. Otherwise, this hotel is great. The fitness center is nice and during our stay wasn't utilized much. New and contemporary look. Fantastic staff!! I think this is one of the best staffs I've encountered during my business travels. Rooms are spacious and set up very well, especially if you're traveling for business. The beds and pillows are luxuriously comfortable. Their breakfast bar is a great start to your day and they continue to restock with fresh food throughout the morning. Nothing like returning to your room at the end of a long workday to find the comfortable bed freshly made and the room temperature perfect. My only suggestion would be having other fresh fruit (besides bananas) available at the breakfast bar. read more

What a great hotel! Newly updated, clean, great decor'!! Nice early morning breakfast, a little bit of everything for everyone. Hotel front desk staff was 'right on the ball' being efficent and kind. I really love the room set up with the sink and toilet in one bath room and the other with another sink and shower or tub. Doors where sliding glass doors, so cool and so metropolitan!!! The rooms were spacious and comfortable-just fantastic. Modern decor with many comforts - couch, desk, glass door walk in shower, good bathroom lighting, private toilet, comfortable bed and pillows.
