Ali is an exceptional employee, an asset to the hotel, and kind and wonderful. One elevator was down for our visit. This added a significant amount of time waiting for the one that worked all hours. It's exceptionally slow. Water at bathroom sink is remarkably hot and perfect, but the shower was not. I'd classify it as 'warm'. Don't matter the time of the morning it was used, just warm. Breakfast varies both mornings we were there which was nice. Oatmeal is watery unfortunately.

Water pressure champ! That was the best hotel shower water pressure I've had in a while! Overall very clean place. Nice lobby, but no bar. Room was clean and they gave me the Bonvoy upgrade to a king suite with hot tub. The breakfast was pretty average for this level hotel. There's nothing within walking distance of the hotel, but tons of dining, bars, shopping etc nearby. I'd go back based on the upgrade, cleanliness, and water pressure.

Best customer service! We were greeted warmly and the hotel was noticeably clean! Once I got into my room I was so happy. The room smelled pleasant and I couldn't see anything in wrong in the room to complain about. They have a mini fridge, microwave, desk, couch and two queen beds. I felt safe knowing that a police security guard was parked right outside the lobby. They monitor the parking lots 24/7 and they have a police car parked to keep an eye on all the cars. This is great especially for those flying out to leave their vehicles more than a week. $30 a week to park and fly is a steal compared to the airport prices to park your vehicle. We have the peace of mind as we will be flying out internationally and we can rest assure our vehicle is in good hands. They gave me a card to call for the shuttle ahead of time to schedule the pick up for our departure to the airport. As well as when we will get picked up upon arrival. The continental breakfast in the morning was good enough to fill my stomach with contentment. They have a waffle maker, oatmeal, yogurt, scones, scrambled egg, sausage egg and cheese egg muffins, coffee, tea and juice stations. They have workers that kept the stations clean and that would continually clean our tables. The seating are had a lot of dining space with a tv for those who like to watch the news. We took the shuttle service they have provided to take us freely to the airport. Our driver was friendly and thorough with provided us information.

Safety is important. Nice reminders on mask and social distancing

Traveling is much more limited now due to Covid and safety and cleanliness are important factors, especially now. Was looking for a place to stay near Dulles Airport since our daughter had a flight out the next day after checking out of an Airbnb. I had booked it online but with check-in being at 3 pm as most hotels and check-out being at 11 am and our car completely packed with three family members who drove up, and now daughter and her carry-on, we wanted to unload asap. Called SpringHill Suites to see if there was any possible way to check-in early and YES!! As all SpringHill Suites by Marriott, the check-in was smooth. The desk clerk was very friendly. He as were others, was wearing a mask. There was a table in front of the reception desk with the plastic wall to ensure social distancing. It's great to see a company take care of their employees. The lobby was spacious and clean. There were nice furniture outside under the entrance too. The dining area for breakfast had individually packed hard boiled eggs, small cereal package, individually packed miniloafs like muffins, orange, yogurt, and then either orange juice or apple juice or water. Ample seating though we went back to the room to have masks off as did most others. What I've always appreciate from SpringHill Suites is the fact there is a separate area from the beds for sitting, eating and/or working. When you enter, the counter and sink set-up also contains the minifridge and microwave and coffee/tea. Then there's a nice couch (that can be converted into a bed where our son ended up sleeping), table to eat, and a desk convenient for computer work. The large TV easily viewed from this area though if you are the type that likes to lay in bed and watch TV, slightly move the TV position easily to the other side of the room. Wish I took photos of the room, forgot about it until we were checking out. Free parking (big deal in areas near DC), free internet in room and lobby. Open disclosure, the room internet was weak or maybe since we were all trying to get on our devices, it was a challenge. I did notice a guy in the downstairs dining area on his laptop and that's common for most places. So this may have been the only not perfect, but Hello, it did work and was free in the room. I'm not sure if the pool was closed due to Covid, but this place had one. Whole building looked nice, like new, clean, crisp decor. Daughters flight was late afternoon, and perhaps due to not being packed or they are always so wonderful, they allowed us to extend past the Noon checkout time! These folks are great! Side note, we could have left our daughter and started our drive back to our place since they have shuttles to Dulles Airport but we don't get to see her much and took her ourselves in our overpacked car, but what a great service for people flying in and out of Dulles Airport. There are also meeting rooms along the one corridor of the first floor so good consideration for events that also require flying in.

Very long and roomy room. It was lighter than this photo with a dining/kitchen thing to the right.

This is a very good hotel but it has three things you need to be aware of. First off, the good. It is an older hotel but spotless, nice and roomy. The staff were good and the check in fast. The breakfast wasn't anything special but it was well done. If you want a solid place to stay, this is your chance. The three things to be aware of are not show stoppers, but here they are: 1) This is a VERY weird location wedged behind other hotels. The Uber drivers all have a hard time finding or delivering you here. Just get used to it. There are NO sidewalks around Reston and it is NOT a pedestrian friendly municipality so you better have a car (watch the GPS) or get a ride share. 2) I had little to no hot water. That was a first in a long time! My office friend traveling with me had no issue, so check it out before you need it and report it if you get my room. 3) The bedside table has a great charging station with multiple outlets and USB chargers that's bolted onto it. It doesn't work. Again, hope you don't get my room. Come and stay, but watch a few of the things.

I've always liked Hampton Inns and have stayed in them in many cities and it's why I booked here this time. However this is the first time I had to use the airport shuttle service and the experience is far from good. The service is on demand only, which means you have to call as they don't make scheduled rounds like many others do. Which should have been fine - many hotels have the same system and it always worked. However it didn't work here because for over half an hour no one answered the phone. Then someone answered and said they'll contact the driver and put me on hold forever so I had to hang up and try again. Eventually the front desk answered and said the shuttle would be there in 15 minutes. It took another 30 minutes. Altogether it took almost 1.5 hours before I finally got to the hotel. When I asked why they didn't answer the phone I was first told they were busy, then they said I must have dialed the wrong number which made no logical sense because I'd only dialed one number and that's the same one that was eventually answered. So while the hotel room quality is similar to other Hampton Inns the shuttle service is shockingly bad. Bottom line - don't stay here if you have to be picked up at the airport. Plenty of other Dulles airport hotels have scheduled shuttles and those are much more reliable - we literally saw countless other hotel shuttles pass by repeatedly while waiting forever for the one from this hotel and wished we didn't make the mistake of booking at this hotel.

This stay however, was far from my normal experiences with a Hampton Inn. My husband, my dog, and I stayed here Christmas Eve - Christmas Day while visiting relatives in town. I called the hotel to make my reservation, as I always do if traveling with an animal, just to make sure things go smoothly. They said no problem, no breed restrictions, and there is a $50 pet fee. So far so good, that's standard stuff from my experience. We got there around 9:30PM on Christmas Eve and check in. I double checked they had us down for traveling with an animal (before my husband and our dog came in to meet me). The guy at the desk said they did, there would be a fee, and under no circumstances were we to leave the dog in the room alone. Umm. Ok. I told him the dog would be with us at all times and he handed over my keys. There was only one working elevator and they put us on the top floor, so that was an interesting choice. Fortunately, people didn't super seem to mind sharing the space with us, although we did get some comments. Housekeeping was up and down with us a few times, which is a tight space. But my dog is 14, he can't take the stairs, and I can't help the hotel having an elevator down. Again, fortunately, it was mostly ok. The room was fine. It was a standard size, the air worked, the bed was comfy enough, and there was minimal noise. This could easily have been a 4 star review. But... On checkout day, there was a knock on the door at 8:30 AM while my husband was in the shower. I answered in my PJs to find it was housekeeping. I was pretty confused by this, and not fully awake, which was probably pretty evident as the person that knocked then asked me when I would be checking out. I stammered something like "probably 11", since that's what I thought checkout was and again, I was not fully awake. The guy said "OK thanks" and walked away. Having never experienced this before (and as a qualifier, I feel like I stay in hotels nationally and internationally fairly often) I decided it was time for us to leave ASAP. So when I handed over my keys at the front desk I doubled checked what time checkout was (it was 11), and told the guy (same person that checked me in) that someone knocked on our door asking when we were leaving. He stared at me. I told him I was confused and thought it was weird. He shrugged and told me they probably just wanted to clean the room and lots of people check out early. Again, he shrugged. I found this incredibly annoying and questioned why they wouldn't double check with the front desk before knocking on the door and he shrugged again and again said people check out early. No "I'm sorry". No acknowledgment that this is odd. Nothing but a blank stare, a shrug and an attitude that basically told me to go away. Cool, I will go away, and I won't stay there again. Seriously odd interactions.

We have always used Hilton but the properties are getting run down and the customer service is pretty non existent. Definitely would not stay at this property again.

They had some long-term or very frequent guests who are known by the staff and were greeted accordingly when they came into the hotel or arrived at breakfast. Being my first time didn't keep the friendly staff from asking how I was, where I was visiting from, and whether I needed anything. The breakfast was good and convenient for the location -- the complex that this hotel sits in has surprisingly limited food options and I was using rideshares to get anywhere on this trip. The staff at the breakfast were constantly monitoring the area and making sure dishes were cleared and food was available.
