My friends and I originally had reservations at another restaurant in Sulphur, but our table and seating were WAY too tight, so we left. We ended up going to the Springs at the Artesian and we are SO glad we did! The food was amazing! We had the potato croquettes and I had the pork chop - which, I typically do not order at restaurants, but this just sounded good. We finished our dinner with Crème brûlée and the bread pudding. Even though the food was amazing, the service was even better! Mickey was our server and she is top notch! Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, friendly ... just all around a great server! Eat here! This was a great dinner! We were here at the hotel after a friend's wedding. We decided that we would get dinner at Springs. We are glad we did! We both got the filet. The steak was cooked perfectly. The Springs is such a convenient little romantic place located in a really nice hotel. We are there for almost every meal during our stay, and most of the items that I tried were somewhat decent. The portion sizes are huge, which is great considering the price tags. Most entrees run about $10-$13. But since they put so much on the plate, you can absolutely get an additional meal from the leftovers. The fried shrimp platter is a massive portion of food! I could easily have eaten 2-3 meals off it. The Mac and cheese I tried was a little bland in flavor but still good. Just needed more cheese. The fries were delicious! So perfectly fried and seasoned and you could taste so much potato. My absolute favorite was their fresh house salad. It tasted right from the farm. The house-made ranch dressing was divine, also. My other impressive dish was the chicken sandwich. The bun was beautifully buttered and grilled. The fried chicken breast was perfectly cooked and moist. But the best part of the sandwich was the spicy mayo. I could have bought a bottle of it! Even though I did enjoy some dishes, there were many others that I did not like. One of these dishes included the bread pudding. It was not really moist; the bread should have been mushier. Also, it was tasteless. Barely had any sweetness to it. The creme brûlée was just the opposite being too rich in flavor. I also did not enjoy the rolls as much as I should have. They need a redo. Not very fluffy, not a lot of bread taste, mostly just bread-end hard taste. The chicken fried steak also tasted very rubbery. Not a lot of flavor in that, either. I'm really just trying to figure out if they don't use much seasoning to try to cater to the older folks. I only ate there a lot during my stay because that is what the people I was with wanted. We were greeted right away, but even with a reservation for our 45th anniversary, we had to wait for a table to clear (social distanancing, of course). We both had the 10oz sirloin cooked exactly as we ordered. My wife had the bourbon glazed carrots and baked potatoe, which were delightful . I had a baked potato and southern "french" green beans. Everything was great We ordered dessert, she had the creme brulee with strawberries, I had orange pecan bread pudding with ice cream and sauce over it. The wife enjoyed the creme brulee, but absolutely went crazy over the bread pudding as did I. She "helped" me finish my dessert saying it was for my protection (right). Chose to dine here as a part of a girls weekend with my sisters and mother. We were advised early on to make reservations. So glad we did as I do not believe we would've had a table otherwise. Waitstaff was attentive, courteous and efficient. I ordered the chicken pot pie. The presentation was beautiful but the filling ingredients were marginal at best. Very disappointed in the food. Probably will not visit again. Lots of other places to try locally on our next visit to the hotel. read more

This place was so good! I was counseling at a camp and we were with a young leadership group in Sulphur and I was tasked to find a nice restaurant to reward them for their volunteer work at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf nearby. And was this definitely a treat! I had the onion burger and it was awesome! The Patty was cooked a little more than medium which is what I had requested but still very juicy and the bun was buttery and soft. The fries on the side were nice and crisp and they had those awesome dill pickle slices that give a nice crunch when you bite down. There were about 20 of us and our waitress told us it was her second day. Well she knocked it out of the park! She took care of all of us in a timely manner and kept our drinks filled and a smile on her face. Everyone really enjoyed their food and we will definitely be back here again! read more

My husband and I had dinner at the Springs for our anniversary. It did not disappoint. Our waitperson, Peggy Sue, made us feel like we were guests in her home. She took great care of us. My husband commented on how good his Rib Eye steak was and my filet was cooked perfectly. The asparagus was well cooked- not over cooked as it often is. Finally we enjoyed a very nice Crème Brûlée. Springs is, as expected, nice inside. It's that sort of nice that makes you think you should dress upscale, but it's completely not necessary. Maybe it's because it's part of The Artesian, so it's understandable if you're in casual wear from a day of exploring or something. The service is friendly and spot on. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, which can be a balancing act. Chips and queso (2/5): Yeah, I know it's not starting out great. Maybe, what should I expect from a non-TexMex restaurant? I dunno. The salsa was very plain, so not much of that was eaten. The chips were probably the best part, as the queso was also a let down in the flavor department. Chicken pot pie (5/5): Whoop there it is. Fantastic. The pastry that covers it is perfectly flaky and soft. And inside, my gooood. All the vegetables are cooked well and on point, and the gravy/sauce/whatever they holds it all together is the star. Ok everyone makes mistakes right? Some mistakes I feel are not defensible in a restaurant but...I didn't leave and I must say the service was top notch (7 out of 5 stars for Jenny). Whats great about these small town high end restaurants is the great prices except the beer. They have limited selection but at least had Coop in the can but it set me back $7 ea which they really should have comp'd 1 . Idk when the industry changed but just not charging for the screw up doesn't feel like enough (0 stars for the management). I should get a free beer for not throwing up. I digress ... Short version: Service isn't great. Food is decent. Long version: Came in on a Saturday for dinner. The place is classy, well-appointed and clean, and probably the nicest restaurant within a 50-mile radius. We were seated right away by a lovely hostess, but then it took our waiter forever to come to the table. We asked for a drink menu. That took longer than it should have. He returned with drink menus. We ordered food and drinks. The food didn't take very long, but it came out before our drinks, and the drinks didn't come until we asked two different employees about them. We were pretty much done with dinner by the time we finally got our drinks. It was disappointing because it was busy, but not THAT busy, and we didn't want our wine for dessert. The food was decent. I ordered the smothered chicken, which was covered in a delicious, rich gravy, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The chicken was a little dry and the potatoes were bland but other than that, it was fine and I ate every bite. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and we've had much better elsewhere. He was underwhelmed. Our 7-year-old daughter ordered the mac and cheese and her meal was legit the best one of the evening. My husband and I ate what she didn't eat. It was sort of rustic, the sauce thick and creamy, almost like a bechamel. It had bits of prosciutto or something in it, and that just took it over the top. The manager did come by and check on us (and every other table), and our waiter was apologetic for the poor service, which made me think that they're aware of their shortcomings and are working on making it better. read more

When we stayed at the Artesian this was our go to restaurant. By the second night we had the same waitress and ordered some of our favorites. This is a decent spot if you're not wanting to go out too far from the hotel. The food was delicious and they had affordable prices. We have eaten here twice before and always had wonderful service and very kind and helpful staff until the afternoon of June 17. On a recent visit to the area, we were recommended Springs at the Artesian. We made a reservation, which we ultimately had to adjust due to our SoleRenity Spa time running a little later than planned. Maybe that was the reason we were seated at the very first table as you come in--not the best table in the house, mind you, as everyone in the place passes by you on the way to their table. Our waitress was MIA most of the evening, it took her quite a while to initially welcome us, forgot my friend's drink order, but was super friendly. I had the pot pie, which was very good. One of my other companions had the "chicken thigh" which we think was either the smallest chicken thigh on the planet, or it must have been a cornish hen. She said it was good, just a very small portion. Prices perhaps a little higher than I would pay for what we got. The staff was all wearing masks-social distancing hit or miss-I think we were seated back to back in a booth with another party. Really, it probably IS the best place to eat in Sulfur-there are really not many other choices! So, if you're in Sulfur, try it out! read more

Most certainly, don't ask if I want chips and salsa as soon as I'm seated. Then, the waitress gets upset that I'm not ready to order before I've even been served my glass of wine. The table next to me had to send their food back twice and their meal was just comped. I'm not expecting much from this experience. We will see if the foods lives up to my initial disappointment. Dropped in for dinner. Less than half of the tables were occupied but we were still put on a wait list to be seated...for 15 minutes. At no time during our time at the restaurant were all the tables occupied, so the 15 minute wait was annoying. The appetizer and dinner salad were excellent. The bartender couldn't make a club special and attempted to pass off some flat sweet drink. The entrees were good but not too impressive. Blackened tilapia was overpowered with only Oldbay seasoning. The salmon was good but the Mexican elote was glorified canned creamed corn with added spices. Service was good and wait staff were friendly. read more

We were so excited to book our anniversary dinner here, but our dinner at Springs at the Artesian left us both disappointed. Ambience was very nice and pricing was fair, but service was so-so (i.e., nothing like you'd expect from a nicer restaurant) and food was just mediocre. The shrimp scampi was very, very bland -- so much so that we had to ask for extra lemons to give it some flavor) and the bed of angel hair pasta was watery. The side of bread with the dish was simply charred on a grill -- again, no real flavor (except for char) and no butter to go with it. A side piece of garlic bread would have made more sense. The best part of the meal were the complimentary rolls with cinnamon honey butter. read more

The worst dining experience I have ever had. Our evening started with our waiter informing us that it would be a 45 minute wait for a baked potato and that the mashed potatoes were not even started yet so don't even think about getting one of those. We ordered an appetizer and then we're brought bread about an hour and half into waiting for our food. Half of our table got our food while the other half continued to wait. Then, one of the orders was completely wrong. Our waiter Brandon so kindly snatched the wrong order and said he would "take it off", so one person did not get to eat. Then my monte cristo never arrived. Brandon finally came out to inform us he did not know what was going on with my food but if I wanted to just also "take it off" he would do that, or I MIGHT be able to get it Togo (he did not know). I finally said that it was ridiculous that we have been waiting over two hours, Brandon yelled, "I put in the order, I have done my job, it's not my problem." We requested the manager who took care of our ticket and after three hours, I got to eat my monte cristo in the car..... truly an experience. I would suggest that you eat before you arrive to the restaurant or pick another fine dining restaurant. Truly incredible. They were not apologetic nor did they really care about our experience, so be warned. I will not be back. read more

Today was the fourth time for us to eat at the Springs. We were there for breakfast. The food is really good. The service was fantastic. I had the protein breakfast and my husband had the classic breakfast. The eggs were cooked the exact way we asked; the bacon was crisp. I had a yogurt, granola berry parfait.
