This park is ***perfect*** for toddlers. It's super clean. Has LOTS (and I mean PLENTY) of shade from the sun. Lots of trees. A nice restroom area. And it is age appropriate. I didn't feel like my niece was in the mix with bigger kids...everyone was in her age group. My only issue is that the parking lot seemed really small. At least where I parked. I was nervous backing out of my space. And there seemed to be one way in and one way out. I'm new to the area, so anyone let me know if I'm missing the extra areas to park and to leave. But I will most definitely bring my niece here again. read more

This park is great in that the size is just right for our small family. There is a playground for large kids and one for smaller kids. The park is really nicely shaded by tons of trees so it doesn't get too hot during the day. Due to the trees there are quite a bit of mosquitoes so during the summer evenings you should keep an eye out for that but otherwise we have found no issues with this park and love the size of it! There isn't tons of parking but we have never had problems finding parking when we visited. read more

I come here sometimes during my lunch hour since it's close to my work. There is always people here that take their kids to play, enjoying a lunch stroll, sitting at picnic tables, and or just find a quick place to chill. I like it as it's laid back. I can eat my lunch in peace and take a walk afterwards without talking to anyone. Overall a nice little park to check out in austin for a short stroll. As you can tell from other reviews, this park caters to families. I've noticed that from visiting. I love serenity and calmness, so maybe when families with their kids aren't there, this park would exude serenity and calmness. Furthermore, they added soap to the bathroom after the pandemic started, so let's celebrate their cleanliness! I love the fact that this Park has a Little Free Library in it! This is a great park. Its spacious, shaded, has tennis courts, bathrooms, walking trail, toddler playground, BBQ grills, picnic tables, restrooms and more. My son loves coming here. I've had no problem with the kids in the toddler area. The parents are usually watching them very closely! The benches fill up quick with parents so bring a chair and enjoy watching the kiddos play. Only gripe is I didn't see any baby changing station in the bathroom. Hubbie said none in men's either. read more

So, it's been quite a while since my original review back in 2008. Since then, the City of Austin has taken over management of this 12 acre facility and provided lots of sweet improvements, with new equipment and upgraded surfaces under the playscape areas. I'd still rate this as one of the nicest public parks in Austin, and certainly one of the most shady (as in, providing cover from the unrelenting Texas sun). Bring your family here and have a ball! Also, if you are a walker/runner, the .85 mile trail is also quite nice with tree cover. Lots of Yelp users have reached out to me over the past few months to try to get more information about how to reserve/rent the pavilions here for parties. What a pretty park. The trees provided plentiful shade. There are two different playscapes; one for the 2-5 years olds and another for the over five crowd. Lots of activities if you have a daredevil or climber. Many parks situate their monkey bars way too high up for the little kiddos to swing from without assistance. Not an issue here, which was great for my little monkey. In the 2-5 year old area, they have bars set up that can be reached by climbing up on the half tire. Perfect for not having to hover or worry about a long drop to the ground. Not a lot of parking, but not an issue in the middle of a chilly day. There were also bathrooms but can't speak to their condition since we didn't use them. Great park. Another one to go on our frequent visitor list. read more

Normally I write reviews on places to eat or retail stores, so when I visited this amazing park I got a hunch to check if it had any reviews on Yelp. My hunch was right and I was glad to see that so many others love this park as much as I did. This park is a gem tucked away off Anderson Mill and 183 near Jollyville. In my opinion it's got everything a perfect park should have. Plenty of shade for picnics, lots of bench and table area with BBQ pits, lots of play areas for kiddos, clean restrooms, a very nice jogging trail, lots of friendly local wildlife that like to be fed.. They even have tennis courts and a volleyball court. Oh and there's a huge open field for baseball, kickball or just flying kites. I'd pick this park over any of the city's bigger parks just for the beautiful and welcoming layout alone. It's apparent that the community here takes great pride in this park because of how clean and well preserved it is. It's a wonderful place to unwind with the kids or to get away from the concrete jungle grind. read more

This park is absolutely beautiful. There are 2 playgrounds, one dedicated to younger kids & one for the older kids. The entire place is covered with shady oak trees. There are bathrooms, a large field for soccer or kickball, picnic tables, nature trails, tennis courts & a sand volleyball pit. Perfect for birthday parties! read more

This is such a fantastic park -- one of the best that Austin has to offer. We are here on a Saturday afternoon and there are toms of people here. Despite all of the people, we still managed to find a picnic table on which to enjoy our lunch. We had a nice, peaceful lunch. After eating, the kids wanted to play. So, of course, we played. There is a play structure for the little kids (perfect for my two year old) and another one perfect for my six year old. It was fantastic. Additionally, there is a sand eyeball court. My oldest found se kids and whacked a volleyball for awhile. The boys spent time digging in the sand. They loves it. Surprisingly enough, for being a busy public park, the bathrooms were clean and stocked. I was happy. I get grossed put in public bathrooms quite often. There are also four well-kept tennis courts, of which two are occupied. This is a great place for a birthday party as there is plenty to to and a couple of covered pavilions. This is the kind of place you don't want to Yelp to keep it a secret. Great trail, all shaded with gorgeous oak trees. There are several playscapes, two tennis courts, a soccer field, a sand volleyball court , and a pavilion. This is one of the only spots to exist comfortably outside in the hot Texas summer. My 4yr old and I frequent this park. We've visited many surrounding parks, but this is our "Go To" park! Nicely shaded, playscapes for all ages, tennis courts, walking trails, picnic areas, soccer/baseball field etc.. The grounds are clean. Bathrooms aren't filthy they're pretty clean for a public park. It's a great family friendly environment Cons: parking ugh not much of it :-/ *Tip* Go early mornings take your coffee/ water the kiddos get there energy out early and it wont be 110 degrees! read more

Pretty decent little neighborhood park we went to for a birthday party. It actually has reasonably clean bathrooms, so that's a huge plus. A couple of playscapes and swings too. Nice. The problems are: the ground under the playscapes is all tiny rocks. Guess what lots of kids were doing with the rocks? Mulch or that spongy stuff is much better than rocks that your more rambunctious kids are inevitably going to throw. Also, it's on two really busy streets, which makes it noisy and dangerous at the main entry corner. read more

This park is pretty nice. They have two playscapes, one more advanced than the other. At least one of them has been replaced in the past year. There are swings and a dinosaur to ride and climb on. There are tons benches surrounding the younger kids playscape and most of it is shaded with all of the huge trees that are around. If the sand volleyball court is not in use, the kids use it for a huge sandbox. It also had some great pavilion space. Bathrooms are pretty clean and easily accessible from the playgrounds. The parking is a bit limited so I do avoid this place on the weekends but I've never had an issue during the week. read more

This park has an excellent array of playscapes. I was impressed and delighted that my twins then 11 months were able to enjoy the toddler swings.There's plenty of playscapes for toddlers and kids of all ages. It wasn't crowded either probably because it's not obvious to spot from the street. This park doesn't have much shading or any splash pads, so for cool/warm days only. The playscapes are plastic so it doesn't get too hot. I definitely am looking forward to coming here as my twins get older and can actually use the toddler playscapes. read more

Great park! Two playgrounds for the kiddos, tennis courts and a smal sports field. Plenty of picnic tables with bbq grills, plus a couple gazebos and a party pavilion. There's also a nice trail that winds around the back part of the park and a few nice oaks for tree climbing. I think the best part about the park is the amount of shade from the large trees! I wish we lived closer, because we'd be here all the time. read more

So my wife has been telling me about this awesome park near our house and the Yelp reviews simply stand alone. But I recently discovered the park in person this weekend and WOW. It's laid out very well and has a nice set of walking trails, tennis course, pavilion, playgrounds, bathrooms, etc. But as of last week it has a few new features that are attracting hundreds (if not thousands) of people a day: this park now has 6 Pokestops and a Pokemon gym. Mothers, fathers, significant others that live near the park: Brace yourselves, the Pokemon are coming and your kids are going to be BEGGING you to come here. The Pokestops are laid out enough that you can just keep walking in a big loop looking for Pokemon and collecting items. By the time you complete the loop, you can do it again for more items. I went with my friend last night and we were trying to just walk in a straight line form point to point and it wasn't fast enough to get them all before they reset. If you stick to the trails and just enjoy the sights, you'll just constantly keep hitting Pokestops. Usually there are a few active lures but at sunset yesterday they all lit up! Simply incredible. There was about 200 people at the park just hanging out and talking about Pokemon. What a time to be alive. read more

This park is great! When I had a job close by, I would come eat lunch at this park because it's so nice and peaceful. This is definitely a kid friendly park with several swings and jungle gyms. There are two tennis courts. My favorite part is the walking paths which travel through the trees and around the park. When the weather is good, this park is a great place to be. read more

I love this park. Lots of shade, beautiful walk/jog trail that has some curves and is surrounded by trees.2 tennis courts, Huge sand volleyball court, big soccer field, 3 pavilion areas with BBQs. I go for the trail and toddler playscape personally,my little one likes to play on the rock wall and chase birds all over the place (super cute) once it cools down though I'm hitting the tennis court and volleyball pit. read more

We frequently visit this park and it is great. It is well maintained and clean. It is nice that there is both a small playground for small children and a larger one for the older ones. The walking trails are also very nice. There are lots of picnic tables and plenty of shade. It is a good park for the summer because of all the trees. It would be 5 stars if it had more swings, fewer mosquitoes (I can dream, right), and maybe a special feature that makes it a bit unique. read more

One hot summer afternoon, we went on a family date to this park. There was plenty of parking, and I love that they have the play areas separated by age groups. Also, as nearly everyone has mentioned, the shade is fantastic. Our daughter didn't want to leave. This will certainly become one of regular spots. read more

Great park, I just wish that it was more in town. Why can't Hyde Park, Clarksville, or Tarrytown have a nice big structure like this one. I guess we will make the pilgrimage north again! The shade from the trees was a big plus. read more

This public park is excellent for kids 12 and under. I stress "public" because it is fenced and looks so nice that I thought it might be for a private school or YMCA. It has interesting, well maintained equipment, with lots of shade. Separate areas for ages 2-5 (with baby swing) and 5-12, with restrooms between. read more
