We were checking out some antique stores as we traveled through Newberg, and decided to get something sweet. We saw this place as we drove through the historic district. After a quick search on Yelp, we decided to check out Sprinkles of Joy. My wife was intrigued because she saw they advertised gluten free desserts. After shopping across the street, we walked to the bakery in need of satisfying our sweets craving. The interior is decorated very fun and tasteful and feels like everything a small local bakery should be. We were immediately greeted and welcomed in. We asked a few questions on the items which were displayed in the cases before making our decisions. My wife was a bit disappointed to see they only had two gluten free options, one a cupcake and the other a cookie, but we anticipate their daily gluten free options change throughout the day. We both enjoyed seeing the creativity in their products and felt the prices were extremely reasonable. Ultimately we chose the peppermint cookie and the chocolate chip sandwich cookie. Both were yummy and satisfied our craving! We recommend when visiting the area. read more

We absolutely adore this cute, quaint little bakery! Extremely attentive, helpful and friendly staff. All of the baked goods are so lovely we wanted one of each! Beautiful cupcakes, yummy chocolate chip cookies - tried both chewy and crunchy and we prefer: crunchy. To us, that is a perfect chocolate chip cookie. Almond poppyseed scone is pure bliss. Buttercream frosted sugar cookies are adorable. And my favorite: today, they had cake tops, imo the best part of a cake. I chose the Oreo cookie top and it didn't disappoint! Local bakery that will meet the needs of any sweet tooth! I first found them during lavender festival time and stopped in this week to get some goodies for my sweet tooth. They do not disappoint! All the sweet are very sweet and the sugar cookies remind me of cross between a loft house sugar cookie and a crumble cookie; the best of both! The cookies are large enough to share if you decide to, but very hard to give up half. The team working is always pleasant and happy to help you and make you feel welcome. I wanted a custom made cake and even though it was pretty last minute they were still so helpful and sweet. Who wouldn't want a Sprinkle if Joy! Saw the name and we had to go in! The s'more bar caught my ey immediately as I'm a sucker for the toasted marshmallow, chocolate graham cracker combo. Their version was insanely good! Too much sugar for one sitting, I enjoyed it two days in a row! Those working here are so friendly. Joyful. I enjoyed chatting with them as I looked at all the goodies in the case. They rotate offerings, and some days there is more or less as it's challenging to predict how many customers will stop in during these Covid times, but there is always something one Can find. This a great little family owned bakery. Really has had a difficult time surviving the Covid epidemic. Employee have been hard to find and even harder to keep. If you want it support a great mother daughter team a woman owned business a family owned business, that turns around and supports the community hires local people....Hopefully you get the idea here. The baled goods we purchased have all been fabulous. They have a limited selection mainly because of Covid but what they do have is made with that special attention from small batch bakery that brings back memories of baking with my mom. Amazing how a taste or smell can do that for you. You know it's in there and it's called love. Their little twist are what's they call sips of joy. Creative drinks of fruit and splashes of soda that are refreshing and a little bit healthier for you. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Let's pitch in and help a family business blossom. You won't go wrong with any choice you made here. The hours make it hard to get in. I tried fort a couple months to be there when they were open. After committing to make our daughters birthday cake they backed out with a day and a half notice leaving us no time to pursue a backup plan. Sorry Sydney you don't have a birthday cake for your 9th birthday... SMH how unprofessional that is. Fool me once... Never again. Owners Kelly and Karen go above and beyond to make every guest feel cared for and taken care of! They offer a spread of cupcakes, cookies and pastries, rotating flavors weekly. They also take custom orders, and can make all your cake dreams come true! They did our wedding in 2019, and we have been loyal to them ever since. We had a great time picking out our delicious treats. Kelly and her mom Karen really put a lot of creativity into their work. I love that there is a theme for their display case. If you go I would recommend their slice cakes. I want to go back everyday for a piece. We ordered a speciality cake for my son's Birthday on her website. I'd originally contacted a bunch of Portland-based catering companies who had tons of stellar reviews, but their quotes were totally absurd for what they were offering. I work in hospitality and have worked plenty of events, so I thought I'd had a reasonable budget for food and beverage -- but literally NO catering company came close. My reception was during peak July wedding season; they could afford to quote ludicrous prices because SOMEONE would eventually pay. I finally got Rogue through my contact at the Falls/Evergreen Museum. Aside from actually quoting me a reasonable price, here are a few of the MANY other reasons Rogue is amazing: - They're local to McMinville, so they know almost all the venues there and won't charge for gas/transportation like Portland-based companies - Janet (the co-owner and my primary contact) responded to all my emails quickly and in a straightforward way. No form emails. No glossy sales pitch requiring a "consultation call" and time-wasting handoffs through a disorganized event contact. I was literally like, "Here's what I want, and here's my budget. Is this possible?" She responded, "Yeah, we can make that happen, let me send you a proposal/menus for that price point." I'd had calls with 5 other companies and not ONE of them would give me this straight up info. Leading up to the reception we had tons of emails about menu adjustments I wanted and stuff, and Janet was always really on top of it. She's also extremely practical, no-nonsense, and organized... Honestly, that's a rarity in the events industry, where event planners tend to be all charm but can't remember all the glorious promises they made you on the day of your event. - I had a lot of specific things I needed for my menu due to some, ahem, "discerning" guests. I wanted some dishes pescatarian, some vegan, etc. And I personally wanted all of them to be local and sustainable. As an added difficulty, the Space Museum doesn't have any facilities for prep - or even running water. Everything had to be prepped and brought in from off-site. Janet handled all of those requests with aplomb. She even thought of things I hadn't. And everything tasted really, really good! - On the day of the event, her team was super on top of everything. They were very professional and everything was set up on schedule. There isn't a single thing I could criticize about their execution. We even had some last-minute challenges on our end, like the wine we brought for them to serve wasn't chilled because someone on our end dropped the ball, but they were totally adaptable and made everything work. Janet and her chef-husband also operate a restaurant called Subterra in the area, and they've been in the catering industry for a long time. They know what the heck they're doing! If you're where I was this time last year, overhwelmed by catering options and wondering whether planning your own wedding was a tragic mistake and maybe you should just elope so you don't have to deal with the stress of it all, just TRUST ME... Get Rogue on board. Tell Janet what you want and what your budget is (she'll have no problem telling you if it's not feasible... and probably figure out something that IS feasible for you). You won't regret it and this will make everything way easier. I survived planning my wedding reception, and you can, too! Go get 'em, tiger bride-slash-groom!
