I love business owners who are collaborative and have a strong sense of community. Those traits go a long way in making businesses with potential stand out, and because of these traits and their amazing product, The Hungry Hero Dessert Company is quickly becoming one of the pacific northwest's preeminent bakeries. I simply adore everything about this company. I've frequented The Hungry Hero dozens of times, ordering birthday cakes and desserts for special occasions. I've also worked with them in a professional capacity as they've graciously donated product to high-profile nonprofit events I've managed. Everything this company does is first rate, with love shining through in every delicious detail. Check out the photos I've provided with this review... these folks are at the top of their game! My favorite desserts include their pumpkin whoopie pies with cream cheese frosting because they are absolute perfection! The Betty bars perfectly blend sweet and salty flavors, and contrasting textures into a heavenly dessert. Also, I'd be seriously remiss if I didn't mention the cereal killer cookie. If I were to describe my favorite scent, it would be this cookie. Citrus, fruity pebbles breakfast cereal, marshmallow and white chocolate chips come together to form an innovative cookie that will make your heart sing! Please support this amazing business. I want to see them continue to thrive and grow because they bring happiness into the world. Tell your friends and family about The Hungry Hero Dessert Company, and make their delicious desserts part of your special occasions.

The first day of fall required some fall treats! I hadn't been here in so long, so I had to make the drive and get some pumpkin cupcakes. They have such a great variety of desserts and everything I have tried is so good! It is definitely worth making a trip!

    So many selections

My daughter and I stopped in while exploring bakeries and other vendors for her upcoming wedding- what a Darling Establishment!! The gentleman was so helpful and genuinely interested in making things perfect and what she wanted. We purchased a few goodies to sample and he was kind enough to give us a few samples as well!! I'm sure we will be using their place- we were both so pleased with the quality of the goodies, the staff- we know they will be a perfect match!!

Delicious lemon bars. We stumbled on Hungry Hero when visiting Sherwood. Now we want to go back for more lemon bars!

3.5 Cute little bake shop in Sherwood. Friendly staff and a wide selection of baked goods including some basque cheesecake, cookies, cupcakes and bars. The desserts are pretty sweet. We tried the cookies and a bar. The potato chips didn't come through much but it probably added a nice saltiness. The butterscotch was but too sweet for me. The ugly cookie was great because you can't go wrong with a marshmallow. All of them were nicely crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. From the photos I expected bigger cookies though. The bar was alright - good flavors but just not my favorite.

I've been excited to try all the different variety of things here. We got a different cookies the best cheesecake, two cupcakes and three bars. The cupcakes and cake are so so soft and moist. The frosting is not overly sweet and I love it. I wish the cookies were not salted because it's a little bit of overkill on something that's already delicious. Sometimes I can taste just salt and not the yumminess under. Overall very good and decide to go back.

Came across this place when looking online for a birthday cake and WOW. Some of the best cake that I have had with seamless ordering and pickup. I don't have enough good things to say!! 10/10 no notes.

Oh my goodness. I don't even know where to start so let's do this... I'll start at walking in the door, because when I opened the outside door, I was hit with the smell of delicious baked goods wafting across the air. Walking through the inside door was like walking into a big ol' candy shop as a kid with no idea of what to get first. Walking into Hungry Hero is the same way: how do you decide what to get when it all looks so amazingly yummy that you want one of everything? Since I was the only person in the shop at the time, I slowly made my way past the bakery cases, taking in every single item, trying to decide what looked the best (haha! everything looks fabulous!) and then settling on several things because I just couldn't make a decision. I finally chose a piece of Basque cheesecake with salted caramel, a lemon cupcake and one each of the macarons (fruity pebbles, vanilla, salty chocolate). The Basque cheesecake was delightfully wonderful with the salted caramel sauce making it super yummy; the macarons were tasty and sweet; the lemon cupcake was full of that lemon flavor I love so much. This is definitely a place I'm keeping on my "go back there" list because it's a place to go back to time and time again. Looking forward to the inside seating opening up again, because it'll be nice to grab something delicious and then eat it right there.

It has been a while since I was back here and I had several reasons to return. This amazing business has delicious desserts! They care about people! They support schools! Today, I went to pickup a donation they they graciously made for a school event and we are so appreciative. The cookies were delish! By the end of the night they were all gone too. I also bought some treats myself because I love their stuff and I got to try some new things. The staff are helpful, patient, and kind. I need to go more frequently. Glad to see they've survived these last few years.

Eeeee!! So cute! I can't go in and not take a pic!

Are these cupcakes all buttercream? I've been searching for a place that has the whipped topping as opposed to only buttercream. Thank you

    Do you bake birthday cakes?

I do believe so as you can choose a cake from their menu and have the birthday message written on top. Their website includes prices and details on flavors too

Walking in at 9AM, they had plenty of prepicked pints on a table and also an entire field of strawberries available for U-Pick. Pricing is actually cheaper for the pre-picked pints, but I assume that's because U-Pick means you're eating while picking as well. Red Berry Barn grows three types of strawberries on their farm. Firstly, probably 30-40 rows of Hoods, then some Shuksans, and finally the ever popular (for farmers, given the day-neutral designation) Albion. It's actually quite easy telling the three apart. The Hoods are overgrown, barely kept organized into rows, with lighter color leaves hiding all of the strawberry red deliciousness hiding underneath. The Shuksans in the center, are the tallest of the plants, with striking dark green foliage. The Albions in the last rows look almost emaciated, with small leaves barely able to support the ample stock of strawberries growing from them. Red Berry Barn doesn't have any particular system for organized picking unlike some other U-Pick farms. Most the field was flush with berries, so we just wandered around wherever we wanted to pick the strawberries. We went here specifically to purchase and pick Hoods. The strawberries here aren't like those of other farms. For some reason, the Hoods are much larger, perhaps 3-4x the size of other Hoods, but still with the protruding cap. The outer shell is also quite a bit harder than the typical soft Hood. The taste isn't the same either, being still sweet and plump with good strawberry fragrance, but missing some of the perfumy quality an excellent Hood has from some of the non U-Pick farms. The skin is also much firmer - usually Hoods only last a day or two before going bad due to how delicate their skins are, but on Day 2, these strawberries were still firm. I have no idea if it's the terroir or the growing and fertilizer regimen fed to the strawberries or not. The Shuksans didn't seem to be ready at the time we visited. I tried a couple that looked ripe on the plants, but they were still mostly hard and tasted like sour water. The Albions, however, were among the best Albions I've had, at least the most ripe ones which consist of perhaps only 5% of the crop. They're super sweet and almost reach Hood levels of perfumy quality but with a different taste. Most Albions, however, basically taste like cold storage grocery store strawberries. Just to hammer it in more - the best of the everbearing and/or day neutral varieties like Albion can be great, but on average, they are worse than June-bearing varieties! Albion especially I think is built for shelf life thanks to the waxy coat on the exterior and the firm interior. We ended up buying a half flat of Hoods to save us some time, and picked up a $16 basket that probably fit around 3-4 pints of strawberries. Red Berry Farm derinitely does in a pinch to get some fresh strawberries. I don't think their Hoods are as good as from other farms, but they're still miles better than any grocery store strawberry.

Even charge for children to play as well as their parents to go in the gate to watch over them. No longer much of a produce market. Flowers are one of the highest prices we've seen. Disappointed!!! No longer stop there to shop. Seems like one of the Tourist Stops now, wonder when the tour buses will show up. Oh YES - Most importantantly of all..... THE OWNERS DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THE DISABLED! They Trespassed our son after they illiegally took cell videos of his behavior, knowing he was mentally disabled. Then their 2 bathrooms were locked at 9:30 AM and one of his disabilities is almost NO Notice to "go" due to nerve damage after he was in a life threatening accident at their Corner and flown to OHSU. I'll not go into too much further detail out of respect for him. However, the OWNERS are obviously not aware that there are Rights for the Disabled. A business can be fined $75,000 1st offense, and $150,000 second offense due to the Americans Disability Act, Title III. This is a Civel Rights violation not a Ciminal Offense. Have any others been discriminated against iffegally?
