Some 'raw milk' (a marketing term coined to disguise the dangers of unpasteurized dairy products) truther on here saw fit to post a review directly after mine recounting their bucolic upbringing and to erroneously claim unpasteurized dairy can CURE dental cavities, so let me be very clear: Unpasteurized milk cannot mend holes in your teeth. Run far away from any dentist who might tell you otherwise, not that you'd find any with a license. What it can give you, however, is E. coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria, Brucella, Cryptosporidium, tuberculosis, and Avian Influenza (H5N1) resulting in paralysis, kidney failure, and death. Pasteurized milk contains the same amount of nutrients and is proven to be close to 900x safer than unpasteurized dairy which has resulted in at least hundreds of thousands of known deaths throughout history. Before widespread pasteurization, milkborne outbreaks constituted 25% of all food and water based illnesses. Do not give Sprouts your business until they remove these dangerous products from their shelves and continue to profit off of misinformation and social media influencer based trends that they know are harmful to consumers. read more

In a world frequently being taken over by corporate capture it is awesome to have a chain grocery store providing such a great range of organic produce and more plus raw cheeses and even milk at some where it can be sold by them. I have found that Raw cheeses are incredible for my gut biome and raw milk is a superfood! My grandparents and Mom had dairy cows on their little farm and the advantage this gave them with their energy and vitality was amazing. I read a book about curing cavities with raw milk that was inspired by Dr Weston Price. I love having these choices. read more

Overall great store but I don't like how they put up false or out of date signs about sales. They put up "buy one get one 50% off" papers next to items such as cherries, strawberries, custom milk brands then when you get to the cash register the product is actually not on sale. There have been many instances where I thought the second item was a special deal only to find that it was not. Not happy with this in-store advertising. read more

Very familiar with Sprout stores. Lived in AZ, so we had them all over the place. This is the only one I have been to in VA... and I hate it. It is by far the worst one I have ever been to, but unfortunately they do have a few Sprout Brand items that my family is attached to, so we have to come here occasionally. Produce area is on the smaller side, and a few times, won't even buy it cause it looks too old and sad. They also don't carry very many gluten free bakery items when the West Coast locations have a good variety. They do not have self check outs.... and I really think that would help a lot. Some reason people shop here with really complicated situations. And can take way over 5 minutes at the register. This happens every time I go, where there is only 1-2 registers open... But both have really complicated situations. So you can almost always expect to way for a ridiculous amount of time. Also, no fault of Sprouts, the people who shop here are rude. Like ridiculously rude, selfish, self absorbed... and treat the workers here just awful. read more

The first time I was in a Sprouts was when we visited AZ some years back and I liked what I saw there. Fast forward to when Sprouts opened up in Herndon, we were sure to check it out. It did surprise me to see it open up in the same shopping center where Mom's Organic Market was. Two stores that are very similar to each other. Yet they both have survived. We rarely go to either store. When we want a similar experience, we go to Whole Paycheck :) However, this week a flyer from Sprouts came in the mail along with 2 coupons to save $5. Now, that was an incentive to stop by. I like their produce department which has both organic and non-organic fruits and vegetables. Also, they have a good selection of herbal teas. We stocked up on our favorite herbal tea "Organic Peppermint Delight Probiotic" which is made by "Traditional Medicinals". Even better--- it was on sale today. Like Whole Paycheck, it is more expensive than the usual supermarkets. Thus, we don't do all our grocery shopping in either store. Still, it's nice to go every now and then. If you like the products that Sprouts has to offer, it's well worth a visit. The staff is friendly and helpful. Today I had an Uber pleasant experience at Sprouts! I went in with a short list: yellow watermelon and vitamins!! Boom, watermelons were up front then I headed to the supplement section. A young, enthusiastic and full of sunshine woman approached me to ask if I needed assistance. Patty is a gem! I thought I knew was I was there for but Patty provided assistance and talked me through a few brands. She was very observant and complimented me on my style. Veggie section not too large, only carry staples (no Asian or specialty produce). There's no one greeting you although it's fine by me I just want unencumbered exploration of a new store. It was nice to see a Sprouts Market in Northern Virginia, as I enjoyed going there in Texas! I love how they have a nice selection of organic and all-natural items, from small farms and companies to the more popular brands. Everything is organized well, from their produce, meat, and seafood section, to their bakery and grocery items. I got some White Mountain Bulgarian yogurt, bakery items, baby snacks, and some produce. Everything was packaged well and so fresh. I wish that this place was closer! This Sprout's location is inside the same shopping center as Panera, Jimmy John's, and Nunu's Thai Kitchen off Elden St. Plenty of parking right out front in the lot. Upon entering, the place looks and feels very clean, a lot cleaner than other grocery stores. The sushi is pretty good, but it would be ideal to use less rice and more of the filling/topping. I like their deli sandwiches more. All of them are good! The store is always well stocked and sale items are pretty well displayed and hard to miss. The employees have always been friendly as well! Always a huge plus. Overall a really nice Sprouts with a great selection of specialty diet foods like gluten free, 0 sugar, and keto snacks. This store is your one stop shopping for all things healthy. The inventory is somewhat pricey. I expected a bouncer to tell me I wasn't on the guest list. There is a deli counter with all sorts of fresh salads, dishes and sandwiches. The produce area was affected by shopping during the corona virus scare, but was still mostly stocked. There was a nice variety of packaged and bulk nuts. There were interesting healthy items that you might not find at Whole Foods. The frozen section had vegetarian and vegan items. I grew up eating Worthington products. It was nice having several meat substitute choices. The vitamin/supplement section had lots of choices. It took me a while to locate what I was looking for. The only available employee I saw on the floor was stocking shelves and coughing without covering his mouth. There was a nice variety of hot and cold items. Hubby enjoyed the prepared chicken. Most items were priced $2-$5 higher than Whole Foods. Many of the healthy microwave choices were $3 more than you'd pay at Harris Teeter or Bertuccis. I presume the price hikes are due to the location. The highlight was finding cotton candy grapes. I enjoyed browsing all the aisles to see what was in stock. My kids gave me a gift card to sprouts so I would try it and it was excellent. Great food choices with some wonderful prepared foods as well as all the staples. The staff approached me several times to enquirer if I was finding everything and the check out assisted me in how to use the gift card. Well done!!! I'll be back! read more

This store just opened close to me and I love it already! Produce is very fresh and is a lot more reasonable than most stores. Overall I see the store as a combination of Whole Foods, Mom's, Wegman's and Trader Joe's. I loved walking around and seeing the top notch products. Only went in for a couple of items, but came out with a lot more. I'm a sushi connoisseur and found their sushi to be fresh and very good. Had two samples in the store and bought two packages and they were very good and I will be back for more. For the top quality products here, I actually see this as a really good store and I will definitely be back since I live close. I highly recommend giving Sprouts a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

I was soooo excited when I first came in the store but that excitement has died after 3 most recent visits. I thought Sprouts would be my one stop shop for things I normally buy at Whole Foods and Mom's but certain quality just is not there. The herbal supplements prices are better than Mom's next door so no complaints there. However, Mom's allows your to return opened items if it does not work for you whereas Sprouts does not. That's okay with me with the lower price premium on those items. The selection of regular day to day boxed items, prepackaged foods are better in my opinion than some of the hard core organic stores. There are days where I personally just crave some "junk" food or regular soda where WF/Mom's just doesn't carry. I'm extremely disappointed with the produce section. Multiple times where I've purchased brussels sprouts, green beans or other produce and it's rotten by the time I open my bag. Initially I thought it was just bad luck and I threw the rotten pieces out, but when it happened again, I realized it may be the produce is not as fresh as I'd hoped. I'm also disappointed with the prices of dairy/eggs/refrigerated section. Vital Farms eggs cost $5 at WF and it's $8 at Sprouts. The markup is a bit excessive in my opinion... Overall, I like Sprouts, but won't be buying produce there again in the future... read more

A real go-to place! Sprouts is a great market with a big selection and so many super healthy products available at fairest prices. Really helpful staff offering good service. All you need to do is ask, and they provide some way and some one to help you. Also, pleasant environment that's spacious, clean, with comfortable seating area and vast array of snacks and super. After taste sample from the deli selection you just can't leave iwithout. Fabulous reputation on the west coast - so pleased Sprouts came to Virginia and so fortunate we found them! I visited a Sprouts Market just to experience. I did not feel that the quality and variety of the products justified the (generally) higher prices. Most of them are national brands that can be had somewhere else. I also did not find their organic produce superior or better priced than, let's say, Whole Foods or MOM Supermarkets. The customer service is great, they're always willing to help find what you're looking for. A while back, I was getting some help to get specific milk in the diary section and the communication across the team was great. I love Sprouts and this location. Many people say it's very expensive and on par with Whole Foods or Wegman's price-wise but I don't completely agree. For instance, a ready-made sandwich at Weg's will set you back $10 to $12 yet I can get a delicious ready made sandwich for $4.99 to $5.99 (or order at the counter) at Sprouts. The sandwiches are fresh and delicious. I also find quite a bit of Sprouts produce to be comparably priced but higher quality. One thing that impresses me is how clean Sprouts is kept. My only slight complaint is that I've never seen a Customer Service desk like all the other stores have as there have been times I wanted to ask about an item or whatever and other than the cashiers, the stockers and those working behind the deli and meat counters I've never seen a desk for customers or a manager but I'm sure there would be one but just very well hidden. :) read more

This review is mainly about the deli sandwiches at Sprouts which, if you're like me, heard about through TikTok! The $4.99 sandwiches definitely don't disappoint, and in this economy? This price is the best around, with lots of options for meats and toppings. It's no Subway though so don't expect endless variety, but it's good and the sandwiches are a generous size for the price. The rest of the store is similar to Mom's Organic which is in the same plaza, though I'm not sure if Sprouts is significantly cheaper or not. Still, they have bulk bin options and an emphasis on sustainability so it's a great place to find more organic/eco-friendly products. read more

So far I love everything about Sprouts! I feel so blessed we have this new store so close to my home! They offer fresh, local, and organic food and products for a really good price. Sometimes my issue with healthy food is that cost a lot and tastes like crap, but everything I have tried so far from the store, both store brand and other brands, have tasted sooo good! I never wanna shop anywhere else again. If your fan of specialty stores, then this will be your jam. I stopped by to check them out and was pleasantly surprised to see a variety of products. I was eager to check what kind of chip selection they had. I'm a fan of Siete chips and was surprised to see they offered a variety of Siete chip flavors. The store was on the smaller side compared to Wegmans, but the layout of the store was pretty easy to navigate. I won't say this is my go to grocery store, but if I'm in the market/area for a specific organic/natural/healthier option, I'll definitely check them out. read more

Sprouts have the freshest and tastiest cashews which goes on sale approx. every two or three weeks at $5.99 per pound (or even less!). Even at their regular price of $8.99, I think their cashews are worth it as they are not too salty (or bland) and so huge! I also love their produce department. The berry prices are unreal. Their produce selection cannot be beat. For example, they are the only local store that carries tiny sweet gem lettuce (which is a love child between crispy romaine and sweet butter lettuce) that you find in many fine restaurants. I am also a huge fan of their Poppies brand organic cherry tomatoes - juicy, sweet and firm (not mushy). Their avocados are also well priced. I also like their frozen fish which are in so convenient size for my small household - branzino, mussels, ahi tuna, etc. Also, they used to carry boneless chicken thighs with skin. Their tiny cheese department carries interesting variety of "seasonal" cheeses. They also carry colorful eggs with large bright yellow yolks (perfect for hollandaise sauce). Their vitamins and self care section is huge! While they carry "special" goods (such as high end pasta and pasta sauces), they also sell the basics too that are reasonably priced. At the beginning, their workers were a bit aloof but now they seem to be more engaging and efficient. read more

I've been back here a few times and have had better experiences. Their prices are close to other stores and offer a lot of organic products. One thing to note is you might not find the generic for something. For example, hot chocolate is a fancy powder for $6+. You won't find the cheap Nestle brand. It has a niche of products. Do not waste your time going here! No one was at the register and when the employees see I'm trying to find a checkout that's open no one says anything to me instead they stare. So I keep walking around to find a register that's open. Finally this female employee comes over to a register (wasn't wearing a name tag) she was young with dark brown hair. Her and this man Eric continue their conversation together while I'm in front of them. They will not acknowledge me. I've never felt so invisible in any grocery store EVER! I tell her I have a reusable bag yet she's so deep into conversation with Eric she ignores me to the point I have to continue to shout and throw the bag in front of her to make her stop packing my items into their plastic bags. They both completely ignored me. My first time ever buying anything from there and I WILL NOT RETURN AND WILL BE GLAD TO TELL EVERYONE I KNOW HERE SPROUTS ISNT WORTH YOUR TIME DUE TO COMPLETELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Please CORPORATE check your cameras at this location to watch this HORRIBLE interaction by your employees. It was on 3/3/20 around 6 to 6:15pm. I'm happy to be contacted by CORPORATE to solve this horrible customer service interaction to make sure no one else ever gets treated the way I did. ----- Her name was Cheryl who rang me up at the register. She also charged me extra for something I did not get. I got two items that were the same and she charged me three and she was not paying attention. Now I must go out of my way to return to be refunded which is not okay. I called the store and Matt answered and could not give me a direct answer. So I still don't know how long I have to return and if I can eat the items I bought because I was told by Matt I must bring all my grocery items into the store that I bought that day.
