Had to run to the store to get ingredients for dinner. Since I have many quality grocery stores nearby, I came here because there was a sale on corn on the cob. This place reminds me of a no frills Trader Joe's. It's small enough where I can see everything as soon as I get in but big enough to have everything I need. I am one of those people who plan my meals around the weekly specials so I came in here strictly for the corn. Don't ask me how but I managed to shuck 18 ears of corn and left the store in under 10 minutes. Not bad, but I'm high energy and go go go! I'm just glad I didn't get stuck waiting for them to bring more produce out because I'm one of the people who will ask. The place is always clean and busy, but the lines move pretty quickly. Parking isn't the greatest since everything is angled parking so there's that. If you want consistently good quality groceries, come here.

I used to love coming to this location, because the people are friendly and it's the closest to my house. Lately, when I come in to get things, especially organic produce, there is nothing to buy. PLEASE stock your shelves! See the pictures.

Mykind Organic Spray, very good/easy for who has difficulty to swallow pills.
Cou. P.

Bought Mykind brand organic B-12 and Vitamin C organic spray for mom (easy to use spray than swallow hard pill daily) few weeks ago and just found out vitamin C's bottom part of the box was damp, even while the safety seal on the box top still on. Went back w/o receipt (I don't keep grocery receipt), didn't see anyone at customer service area, so walked up directly to vitamin section and talked to the staff who was there, explained the issue and showed her the leaking box asked if I can just do an exchange right there or I need to talk to manager? After checking the box she gave me a new one and I was out of the door within 5 minutes. Thank you Sprouts @Liberty, you make a shopping/exchange procedure so simple and comfortable for customers, that's why I keep on coming back shopping at this location even though I don't live nearby this area, but happy to come back to you more than the one closed to where I lived.

Terrible customer service. Cashier asked my 70 year old dad for ID and refused to sell him beer because it was expired.

So I stopped in at the Emerald Forest during lunch one day. I was pretty sure this local health food and supplement store would carry it. They did have mineral salts deodorant -- two varieties in fact. The health and beauty section was probably the best-stocked part of the store, so I browsed around in the toothpastes, soaps and lotions for awhile. Every product I picked up was cruelty-free, and most were organic too. I made my way through the rest of the store more quickly because unlike the health and beauty aides, the other sections weren't quite as well-stocked, that is until I reached the vitamins and supplements. Emerald Forest's selection rivals GNC in this area, which must be their bread and butter. If you're used to the robust offerings at Whole Foods you won't be impressed by Emerald Forest. But if you just need the odd jar of amino acids or a big bottle of multi-vitamin and mineral supplements with whole food concentrates, they can hook you right up.

When stacked against giants like Whole Foods, you have to come in expecting that merchandise would be on the low side but here it's almost non-existent. I stopped counting the empty produce bins and shelves early on. Selection was scarce for many of my usual staples - cereals/granola, yogurt and pizzas. Their selection of herbal teas weren't bad with a full line of Celestial Seasonings, Yogi and Stash teas. Unfortunately, I have had the pleasure of experiencing Trader Joe's and that makes me almost shy away from any other place because their selection, pricing and service always outshine the rest, including Whole Foods or Wild Oats. For small shops, I always look for quality, selection and the friendliness of the workers, all of which were lacking substantially at Emerald. Not my kind of jewel.

This place was so weird…read more The guy at the register seemed like, hungover or something, and it just... took him a while... I hope he wasn't having a mini stroke. The item I purchased rang up at a higher price than what it said on the shelf. Never a good sign. Everything was really expensive, except for a few things on sale - like, I managed to find a single-serve yogurt on sale for $2.50 instead of $4.59. They have some bulk herbs and teas, but the selection is very, very limited. They have a couple water dispensers in back which is nice, but there's no price listed anywhere. I really want this kind of place to survive..... but it's just so pricey; and then the service wasn't great either.

I only go here now if I don't want to make the drive elsewhere or if I need the item immediately. As much as I would like to support a locally owned business, I just can't justify it with the type of service they offer in the store, their selection, and their pricing.

As it happens, they did have the product I was looking for (white chia seeds) but for the most part if you're looking for groceries neither of these stores are your first option. You need to go to Whole Foods, Natural Grocer, or the surprisingly complete health food departments at many local Hy-Vees! Service was friendly and efficient -- the woman at the counter could go right to the shelf where the white chia was located and the price was OK (it's very popular these days, it seems, so it's not inexpensive). If this location isn't near where you live, DO call them before going to save yourself a wasted trip. But if you're looking for supplements you should be happy camper here or at Emerald Forest! The shop is in a strip mall at the SW corner of 151st and Mur-Len in Olathe.

Very disappointing experience from a business we have supported for more than three decades. We…read moreshop here several times a week and have generally trusted the pricing and customer service, which made this situation even more frustrating. A loaf of Brioche bread was clearly marked at $5 on the display stand, but it rang up at $7 at checkout. When we questioned it, the clerk went back, took a photo of the display and explained that the sign was only meant to "draw attention" and was not actually the price for that bread. That explanation made little sense, especially since the bread on the display appeared to be the same product. My wife later called and spoke with the manager, Kelly, regarding what we viewed as false or misleading advertising. Unfortunately, the response was dismissive and unapologetic. Rather than acknowledging the confusion or offering to make it right, the pricing display was defended by claiming the marked price applied to bread on the other side of the stand. What concerns me most is how many customers likely never notice these discrepancies. We only caught it by chance, and I suspect many others simply pay the higher amount without realizing it. After being longtime loyal customers, this experience and the lack of accountability have caused us to reconsider shopping here. Leadership should be aware of how situations like this are handled because customer loyalty can disappear quickly when trust is lost.

I love this store because it's the nearest store to go to return Amazon products. It also has a wide variety of meat, selections, cheese selections, and an amazing hot bar. You can get food items ranging from pizza to fried chicken to Indian curry plus incredible soups like minestrone and clam chowder. They have a wide variety of salads and cold food items like Sushi and sandwiches as well to offer. I recently checked out their cake selection and was blown away by the variety of decorative cupcakes they have started to carry. There is a cute little space near the entrance where you can enjoy the hot/cold bar food items. Apart from the above selections, they also have tons of frozen products, dairy items, vegetables, holistic medicines like supplements, clean skincare and makeup, and so on available for purchase. However, if I compare it with other stores, the pricing does tend to be on the higher side. That's why I do not do all my grocery shopping here. it's always clean. The staff is friendly approachable, and very helpful. If not for groceries, I would definitely recommend you to going in and trying their hot bar because you wouldn't regret it!! It's literally a one stop shop with everything you could want.
