I like this Costco, because it's quite often not as busy as other warehouses in the area…read more It has your usual Costco "stuff". Groceries on one side, everything else on the other side. They have premade foods, the meat is high-quality, and the bakery is awesome. They also have the optical shop and the hearing aid center. I've never had to have my hearing aids, serviced there, but they always have the batteries I need at very decent prices. Everyone I have dealt with at the store has been very friendly. Of course, you have the samples, the only problem with the samples is, they may lead to an "impulse buy." but hey, that's why they are there, right? I have Gotten some great things before after sampling them first. It works....... There's also the whole rotisserie chicken for only $4.99. The rotisserie chicken, as well as the hotdog and soda, are what they call " loss leaders." they lose money on the item, but they use it to lure you to come in, and buy lots of other things. The gas station is very large, at 24 pumps. I usually don't have to wait more than a few minutes. Plus, the gas prices are great, and it is definitely very high-quality gasoline. The attendant there if you have any questions, or you forgot your card, is always very friendly and helpful. The food court is awesome. The ubiquitous buck 50 hotdog and soda, the pizza is great, and while it is definitely an acquired taste, I really like the chicken bake. Today, for the first time, I tried the chicken strips. Five humongous strips, for only $6.99. They were lightly breaded. I don't know what their "secret blend of herbs and spices" is, but the breading was delicious, and the chicken was moist and tender. They also came with a fantastic honey, mustard dipping sauce. I barely made it through half of the order, and I was stuffed. The rest came home for another meal. They reheated beautifully. I don't like the way they run the food court now, though... In the past, you just walked up, ordered, and paid at the window. Now, you have to walk up to a kiosk, scan your membership card, order whatever you are going to order, pay, and then the machine spits out a receipt to take to the window. When I was there today, it was after lunchtime, they still had some 10 people in line waiting to pick up food, and only one person working the window. The food is good, but it can be a little bit inconvenient to get said food. Other than that, I love this store. I will continue to come back.

I dropped on into this Costco location in Rancho Cordova only after going to the Folsom location…read moreand bailing out. Well actually I couldn't easily find a parking spot at the Folsom location. Folks were parking on the side streets. That's when I figured if the lot was this crowded, I dare not go inside. I trucked on over to Rancho Cordova. It was not nearly as crowded as Folsom. But the customer service was off in the strangely irritating way. It started with the man standing at the membership scan machine. I didn't pay attention to notice if the card was scanned, so I went to do it again. He ejected his hand inches from my face and shouted Good. No he didn't, but yes he did. Then the woman folding clothes came next to me to refold clothes. Like right next to me. Elbow to elbow. Odd. Then an another staff person came charging at me with a pallet cart. And stopped in a screeching halt less than a foot away from me. Ugh. The redeeming customer service came from the cashier. She salvaged my experience to bump up the overall rating to 3. Anyways this Costco has the similar items as others. It has a gas station, optical center, pharmacy, tire center, heating aid center,, and food court. The food court with seating is located outside, very OG original.

I unfortunately had to be "helped" by the man who was younger taller and skinnier. Not sure what his name was. After asking a couple questions, I could already feel his negative demeanor and complacency for his job. By his conversation and reactions toward me, it was apparent this was not going to be customer service focused but instead it felt like he assumed everybody should know what they are asking or talking about before asking him for help. Throughout all of my conversation with him, he kept giving rolling eye looks and when he would answer questions it would be with quick, non-thorough answers. I bought one piece of a certain baseboard which, came to find out, was to long to fit in my highlander. So I asked if he can just cut it in half. I was answered with a quick "sure". I noticed he was using a mitre saw so I asked if he can cut it at a 45. After he apparently did not want to hear me a couple times he answered with. "We don't do that and we don't really sell to public". I was ok with it as it could have been too much to ask, but then one other worker made a smart remark and said to him that "****, you should install it for him to". My opinion is it would have been good customer service to just say we can't as policy but the "smart" comment didn't need to happen. Either way, most of the reviews are correct about the customer service not being there at all, the talking down to, the "quick" answers. And I can add the rude remarks.

I was more surprised that the guy with the terrible attitude and chip on his shoulder was "Matt", the Manager of the store. I guess it's known throughout the floor finishing community that he's a "little grumpy" sometimes. I guess that's one way of putting it, I would just say Rude is a better description. He won't have to worry about us bothering him again, we won't be back.
