If you know anything about the Berlin bakery scene -- especially the vegan bakery scene -- you know it's widely considered some of the best pastry culture in the world. The quality, the lamination, the creativity... it's elite. That's why I made the comparison. Spuntini genuinely rivals (and in some cases even tops) some of the vegan bakeries I've tried in Berlin -- which is saying a lot. The pistachio vegan croissant is still the standout. What can I say everything I tried here was so darn good. But I favorite so far , has to be the pistachio orange cinnamon rolls . Omg... I had to buy four . The service is always quick. The staff is always great with recommendations and super friendly. The space is kinda small for my liking . But it's made to be more socially interactive. Spuntini might be one of the best hidden gems in all of Hampton Roads. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with an amazing quaintness that is warm, cozy and welcoming. Staff was very friendly and informative, but what I noticed most was how much they all care about providing a great experience. Their bread is fantastic and their grilled cheese was quite literally the best grilled cheese I have ever had. Latte was good and salad dressing was superb. I cannot wait to come try more! read more

Spuntini Bakery delivers an excellent experience with high-quality offerings and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Although the shop is only open Thursday-Sunday, it is well worth planning a visit. We tried the cheddar and scallion scone paired with a gold chai latte. Both were delicious, with the latte being a standout. In addition to pastries, the shop also offers organic sourdough bread and breakfast items. The interior is small with limited seating, but it feels cozy and thoughtfully designed. Service was exceptionally friendly and upbeat. Both free street parking and a nearby lot are available. We look forward to returning again soon! read more

Amazing focaccia and sourdough bread! And the service is top notch. A true gem in Hilton Village.

Delicious coffee. I had just gotten a similar drink next door at indulge and it was nothing like this one. Full of coffee flavor and creamy. I also got the sourdough bread and it was chewy and sourdough flavor heavy. Also got the sourdough cookie and the strawberry bar and those were a little underwhelming. Next time would like to try their quiches as they look chock full of veggies. Very cute inside and friendly service. read more

Another quaint little jewel. In the Hilton historic district of Newport News. Reminiscent of a bakery in Northern Italy, and other places in Central Europe. The fare is limited, focusing mainly on sourdough bread. I will post pictures of their menu. Changes are daily. I'll be back tomorrow for the sourdough walnut cranberry bread! This is a first-rate business with excellent, old-world quality. They also have sandwiches on their, of course, sourdough bread. Friendly, helpful folks! You gotta try this bakery! Buon appetito! ADDENDUM: had to wait for today to try their Cranberry Walnut. Went back this morning. As anticipated, the Cranberry Walnut was everything I had hoped for! Absolutely delicious! The Hilton Village strip has a new player in town - well, not really. The folks at Spuntini were a staple of our Hilton Village Farmer's Market before they took over the old cupcake shop that used to be on the strip. They've completely transformed the space into an artisanal bakery/coffee shop. The vibe is awesome and the food is even better. My kids are addicted to their rosemary garlic sourdough! I've also tried the fig and cranberry breads with baked brie and they are fabulous. They recently started serving small plates/sandwiches for lunch, and they have a variety of other goods - local cheese, crackers, desserts. If you're looking to put together a local charcuterie board - this is your place! And the owners couldn't be nicer - it's just a fabulous addition to the neighborhood. Check it out! read more

I was driving through the area on my way to Virginia beach for spring break when I stopped my spuntini bakery, I walked in and ordered a grilled cheese, when i looked in the kitchen there was an older man on the phone yelling at with who I assume to be his kid, demanding that they are to come to the bakery. when I got my food, I asked to use the restroom and i got confused my the difficult instructions on how to get there i got lost along the way and added an extra 15 minutes to my already tight schedule. read more

Everything about this bakery is amazing! I could personally eat my body weight in their scones! I have had two different ones after my run and they were literal heaven! The jalapeño and cheddar still lives in my dreams! Also tried the homemade rosemary crackers and the olive focaccia and they were just as amazing! I had a wonderful experience at Sputini. All of the baked goods are extremely fresh and almost the entire menu is vegan. They also offer a selection of vegan cheeses that are the best I've ever tried. The staff is super friendly, you can tell they really care about the customer.
