Upon entry, to a much larger venue than the first location in Port Warwick, we found a large baby shower in progress. The entire eatery was taken up with shower decor, guests, games and gifts. So suffice to say, my experience will hopefully not be repeated. I am sure the delightful owners appreciated the business that came with a full on house party, but I did not. IMO, an event like this should be held privately, before or after hours, or in a portion of the venue not the entire place! Thankfully, the accommodating staff made a special place for us at a small counter area outside the restroom. They did not really have enough seating for us but offered an extra chair and we all kind of crammed in. I cannot say enough about the staff, service, food, it was all amazing! The place looks to be decorated super cute, at least what I could see beyond all the baby shower paraphernalia. There is space for more than a few more tables for guests. I suggest they fill that space if they plan to allow more party takeovers. I know I sound a bit miffed, but some places are not set up for parties along with non participating visitors to the establishment. This is one of those places. While we were crammed into the corner we were happy to have, they were playing games, dancing and having a good old time. Not the ambiance I was looking for that I would hope would be the norm. We were assured the baby shower ended by 1pm, but at 1:30 there was no sign of anyone trying to leave, except us. The party was still in full swing. Still, 5 stars for decor, staff, food like icecream, macarons, crepes, waffles... they need some help on the drinks because grabbing a can or bottle from a fridger in the middle of the room ruins the vibe. Offer some blended fruit drinks or teas. Anyway, I hope they do well in this Kiln Creek location, and leave the full venue party bookings for after hours.

Both gals serving were hospitable and always quick to top off coffee or water / drinks. Prices are reasonable; however, like many places today, their suggested tip starts at 20% and is on the total bill, including tax. Gratuity is supposed to max at 15% and on the subtotal before tax. I'm good with tipping extra here as the service earns it, but I didn't care for how the bill showed up. They were recently spotlighted by Channel 13 as part of their Friday Flavor segment. It was a no brainer that we stopped by to give them a try. When we walked in, we were both greeted by the staff of two behind the counter. It's a very small cafe with two tables for up to 6 people, a small round table for two and a bar table area. Everything was clean and spotless with decor all over. A welcoming spot for all that comes in. We ordered right at the counter upon walking in. My choice of beverage was a medium sized Forget Me Not (sure it was named after the song from Patrice Rushen) served iced. It's a cinnamon latte with whole milk (my choice) and sea salted caramel toffee. Also, I ordered a sausage and egg croissant and a cheese danish pastry to eat. Everything was really good. All the ingredients for the beverage came together. A little strong, but not too sweet. And the croissant sandwich and pastry really helped myself become full for the morning. A lady met us at the door and when she learned it was our first visit proceeded with a pretty lengthy description of the menu and how all of their food was homemade. She was helpful but frankly, we were anxious to order. The menu is not expansive but it had a decent selection. My grandson and I both got the pulled pork sandwiches. They haave a good selection of side dishes. I got their cheesy potatoes - like all gratin potatoes - and baked beans. My grandson got their french fries and mac and cheese. The disposable drink cups they provide are branded plastic 20 oz which are surprisingly good quality. They have three different types of sauces on the table which are decent but none really hit it out of the park. However the pulled pork sandwiches were tender and juicy and really didn't need a lot of sauce. My grandson's eyes lit up when he tasted the mac and cheese. He looked at me and said this is the real thing! I tried it and he was right. My cheesy potatoes were just as good. If I had to be critical, the one thing on the plate which was not super was their hush puppies which were good and of a decent size, but was a bit overcooked. While we were eating we noticed a sign on the table which advertised $3 milkshakes between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. We both got milkshakes to go and they were wonderful, just like homemade. Frequently, new restaurants encounter challenges is the come up to speed. And I have seen earlier reviews of qdaddies that suggested they went through a phase of that. However I can now say that they have hit their stride and is an excellent new addition to Yorktown.
