Unfortunately, Square 1 Electric is no longer in business. The company was purchased by Clackamas Electric, who are unscrupulous in their business practices. Look elsewhere, they will rip you off and charge you 3x more than a reputable electrician. Do yourself a favor, call around and wait for someone reputable. read more

These guys did a 100 to 200 Amp upgrade for me and it went really smoothly. SQ1 was punctual and professional. Jim did the estimate and was happy to answer questions about brands and scope of work when I called him back several days later. Work was done by Wayne and his apprentice Nate. They were both courteous and Wayne gave me some tips for getting a discount on home-owner's insurance because of the safety equipment they updated. The county inspector found no problems with SQ1's work and was impressed with the way they labelled circuits headed into the breaker box so you can see which circuit you are working on when the cover is removed. read more

These guys were amazing! They were available exactly when I needed them and at a very reasonable price. I had to have some wires re-routed from a knocked out wall, an electric range plug converted to a gas range plug (220v to 120v), a switch moved, and all my old 2-prong outlets changed to 3-prong. I also had GFCI's installed where they needed to be. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and made the whole process very painless. I would totally recommend Square 1 to anyone! read more

Mark arrived on time to install new lights on the back of the house, remove old conduit and wiring from prior owners hot tub and outdoor bar. Square 1 is a great choice for all your electrical needs, whether big or small! We've used them for two fairly large remodel projects at our home, basically gutting and rewiring the entire upstairs and installing an updated circuit breaker panel, and then some smaller projects after that. Not a good experience. I used them twice and I had issues both times. I should of gone with my gut the first time around but being a small business owner myself I wanted to give them another chance. Of course I had the same electrician twice so that probably didn't help things. Between the estimator Jeff giving me attitude on the phone while his electricians were still on the job about how I had the wrong materials supplied or the lies his electrician was telling him. It was a absolute terrible experience and I will NEVER recommend then to anyone. This is a honest review unlike so many yelp reviews are over exaggerated. Square One just did all the electrical/electronic design/work from the design phase through construction. Curt and his team are terrific. Absolutely recommend the firm and they will do all our work in the future. They dealt with some very complicated lighting and wiring issues with top technical knowledge and stayed on everything until we were totally happy.
