It was a great experience: Cam was responsive and easy to work with in scheduling the move, and the on-site crew (Zach and Evan) were professional, diligent about the details, worked fast. Better yet, there were no hidden fees or surprises, and everything arrived safely.

The team lead was an asthmatic who told his supervisor that he was well enough to work. He wasn't. Both he and his team member where slow and sloppy. There was no organization to how they packed the truck or took things from the apartment. Everything was done very haphazardly. They wound up not getting everything on the truck. When I discovered that they couldn't get everything on the truck, I told them they had to move the furniture. Even though I was told they would move some things to a dumpster, I had to ask them three times to move it. The last time was after they had got in the truck to go to our new home. They also broke the storm door on the apartment and left a form gash in the linoleum. After talking to Cardinal Moving twice, they agreed to send out a second team the following day at no additional charge to move what had been left behind. The difference time between the two teams was amazing. The guys on the second team were professionals. You could tell that they knew what they were doing in how quickly and efficiently they moved the boxes and packed the truck. If we had had the second crew on the first day, we would not have had to pay 66% more than the original estimate. I did my research, but it wasn't enough. Two people recommended Cardinal Moving. Maybe the problems we had with our move were an aberration. My question: are you willing to take a 1 in 3 chance that you get inexperienced movers and wind up paying 66% more than the quote? I will not take the chance again.

I checked after they left and the coupons were gone. Hired them again in 2022 to move into a one bedroom apartment in St Matthew's. When they got there they did not give enough time to direct them where I wanted things, they broke one of my lamps, and I lost a box with pictures and 3 small mini cameras. My last move, I used a moving organizer She used these guys. When we got to the new apartment, again I went into my bedroom and checked my two Chester drawers. Again, the drawers had clothes stuffed into drawers they did not belong in, a pair of jeans that should have been with the clothes in the walk in closet, and they spilled a large bowl of change I had in my Chester drawers. Don't use these guys. Untrustworthy and the owners / office are no help.

I did have a bill of lading from one of the big boy moving companies so he would have an idea of the size of the load. I was able to give him the weight of the load as well as the cubic feet of the load that the national moving company had in their truck. I did explain since i had been in Louisville I had purchased new washer and dryer, a new couch, a new chair and a new table and chairs for the kitchen. He walked the house and saw what I had which most of it was still boxed from my previous move in October of 2022. He stated that a 26-foot box truck would easily accommodate my household belongings. At first he quoted me an hourly rate of $50/hr for his people to pack and load then unload. Then he quoted me a hard number of $4,300 to pack, load a 26 foot truck, drive it to Indianapolis, unload and assemble items like beds, tables and such. I received another quote from a local mover which was a little lower but since Corey seemed more professional and seemed to know what he was doing I chose Alpha Moving. The three guys showed up pretty much when scheduled, one was a little late but we all got into packing the boxes I had saved from my previous move. I was working and packing as much as they were. I bought the three of them lunch and we got back at it. Afterwards I gave them all a $20 for their efforts. On the moving day they were supposed to return between 9 and 10 AM. Robert, one of the other owners, called me at about 9:20 to say that U-Haul did not give him any blankets and that he would need to return to the U-Haul store to get some. (My thought was, wouldn't you notice that before you leave the store and not while you are driving to my house? How does that happen? Did he stop for breakfast and look in the truck? Why didn't he notice when he was there?) Robert finally arrived after 10 AM and the guys started loading. As they got closer to the back of the truck there seemed to be more close conversations between them. They came to me and asked if I can take some items with me in my SUV which I reminded them that I had two large dogs that have been wandering around the house that I will be taking with me. Then they decided that they would place some items, as much as they could, into one of the employees cars. They finally came back to me and said that everything would not fit into the truck and they would either need to rent a trailer or they could have another employee drive his personal pick up (Ford Ranger) and fit as much as they could in that for another $300.00. I told them that I was ensured by Corey that everything would fit into a 26-foot box truck with ease. I told them that I work in an industry that when you give a price you live by it. Well Corey and Robert did not and were charging me the added $300 to get my belongings to my new house. Before we left they were sliding a glass tabletop to a desk into the truck and it shattered into over a million pieces. There was glass everywhere! It took them forever to sweep it out of the truck and on to the driveway and then pick it up off of the driveway using my broom and dustpan. We finally got all loaded and ready for our trek north at around 2 PM. I knew this had the makings of a very long day already. They offloaded the furniture first so I was able to direct where each piece was to go without issue. When they began offloading the boxes that was a different story. They had some boxes that were not labeled so they inevitably ended up in the wrong room. When they finally got everything unloaded we were all standing near the front door and I thanked them for their efforts. I gave them each a $20 again and told them I wish I could give them more but that I was still upset about being charged an extra $300 for Corey underestimating the size of the truck/equipment need to move my belongings and I was going to give each one of them a $50 bill but that they would need to see Corey for it. At that time Robert told me that it all most likely would have fit in this truck but he noticed early on that when they had started packing the front of the truck there were "pockets" and open spaces and the truck should have been packed better and "tighter" than it was. At this point one of the more seasoned employees turned around and walked out the door. I believe he was upset that Robert had just thrown him under the bus in front of a client. So we ended up settling on $300 for the cost of the glass tabletop but they charge an extra 3 or 4% if you use a credit card so they charged me $150 so my total bill was $4450.00 all in. As I have been unpacking I have noticed that one particular box is missing from my many boxes. I have texted Corey to see if either of the two Alpha employees have found the box in their vehicles but he has not responded at all in well over 72 hours which is very bad business.

Polite and got the job done. although the young man upstairs was horrible. He was upstairs for hours doing nothing. Closed the bedrooms doors and said everything was moved only for us to go back 2 days later to find he did NOTHING!!! The only thing moved was furniture. All boxes and totes were put in closets and hid. Tried to get some type of relief from them and was firstly overcharged because it took them forever over 10 hours due to the gentleman upstairs doing nothing . This company told us they would make it right. THEY DID NOTHING. but give us excuses after excuses, no refund NOTHING. Then we were told they were going to send a box truck to finish and correct this, but on the day it was supposed to happen, it was a totally different story after story, which came from a supervisor who lied as well. This moving company left us hangyand we even bought them lunch and tipped them very well, not knowing the mess that they left us. ALWAYS CHECK BEHIND YOUR MOVERS, especially with a company like this. Its not about the people it's about the $$$$$$$. THEY TOOK A SHORTCUT, and refused to correct their mistake for hiring worthless employee. PLEASE DON"T USE THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY SCREWED US REALLY BAD!!

Way to go and come to the rescue at the last minute!…read more When another moving company stood me up and couldn't reschedule my move Margaret came to the rescue and was able to squeeze my move into their schedule within 2 days of my call. (Everyone else was saying it would be the week after the 4th of July. 8 or more days after I had to be out of my apartment.) The rate was even less than my original moving company. The 3 man team that came out was friendly and willing to do whatever we needed them to do and worked well with my 75 year old mother and let her go through stored boxes to decide what to take and not to take while they were moving other boxes. (Even though it slowed the down the process a bit, it was worth the extra cost). We also had an extra cost for a stop at our storage unit to drop off over half the truck load. (The only caveat I have here is that I didn't know there would be an extra charge. It was half the cost of regular truck fee. I don't object to the cost and understand why it was charged. I just wasn't expecting it. When I was discussing the move over the phone and asking when we could schedule the move of the items to the storage unit vs the move to the new apartment I was asked why not do it all at once and save on the truck cost. No mention was made that there would be an extra charge for the stop at the second location. But like I said I don't object to the extra cost just the fact that I didn't know about it ahead of time. The other thing they did that I liked was that when we finally did get to our new apartment it was so late that they called in some more guys to help unload to speed things up and the cost for that turned out to be negligible and I didn't even notice it. While we always tip our movers, we were so happy with how well this move went after having so many trials and tribulations with the previous movers, etc. that we tipped more than we ever had before.

My daughter recently moved her furniture to a storage unit after selling her house and looking to buy a new one. Since she is single, and I'm retired, she enlisted my help getting moved. I was the primary contact for all moving issues. We used a different company (not Clean Slate) to move from her old house TO the storage unit. They were "decent" but I felt a little used and abused by their add on charges after the fact. I started looking for a different mover when it was time to move from the storage unit to the new home. All communications were via text. Clean Slate did meet another movers price and since they had so many 5 star reviews, I decided to go with them. There was one problem, they showed up an hour late. I considered giving them 4 stars due to showing up late, but that issue was offset by the quality of the two young men that did our move. Both guys were respectful and took good care of our possessions. They worked non stop for 4 hours. They even let this old man talk their ears off! I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.
