I met a friend here for lunch today, the first time for both of us. The service was wonderful and the food was good too. I had salad and sandwich & she had soup and salad. I loved the garden salad with the delicious strawberry salad dressing and the chicken salad sandwich was pretty good too. It was busy, which is always a good sign. Very cute lunch spot. My friend and I ate lunch at the Square Market & Cafe. It was a Thursday around noon, and there wasn't a wait, which is nice. They have a spacious restaurant inside, as well as a few tables outside. We snagged the last available table outside because it was a beautiful day! I ordered the BLT with crispy bacon & regular mayonnaise. It was delicious and just how I like it! When I ask for crispy bacon at other places, it doesn't always come out right. My friend got a club that looked really good, too! We both got waters at first, but didn't love the taste. So I ordered lemonade next and enjoyed it. The prices were average. The menu is pretty large too. They have soups, sandwiches, and salads, but they also have entrees and pasta dishes. read more

The place was very clean. The price was pretty reasonable compared to what it costs you to eat out these days. We had in-house fruit tea with our meal. It was top of the line too!. The server was also quick to greet us getting our drink orders. I ordered a soup and sandwich combo getting Lobster Bisque and a Reuben. The Bisque was amazing as I thought I was eating it in a beach town. Lobster seemed very fresh and the flavors were spot on. I loved it! The Reuben was a classic Reuben done right. Corned beef was high quality and seasoned well. All the flavors and the Russian dressing was a perfect complement to the meat and other flavors. I would definitely order again! My wife and I found this place hidden in a corner on the square in Columbia, TN. We walked in and were met by friendly staff who gave us a table immediately. The place was small, but very unique. We both ordered the soup and sandwich combo. The tomato artichoke soup was amazing! The sandwiches were very good as well. We have found a new favorite place to eat and afterwards we walked around the square visiting some of the shops. We highly recommend coming here, just get there early. Today was my first visit to Square Market in Columbia and I have to say it was amazing all the way around! Beautiful ambiance, wonderful menu, fabulous truffles, and great service! I had the portabella panini and asked if they would add the fried eggplant to it and they did! It was fabulous! I also ordered a dozen truffles to give to one of my doctors offices and they oohed and aahed over them I will definitely be back to try more delicacies at this wonderful spot in Columbia. We had the soup of the day - chicken queso - for starters. It was delicious. I tried the Tennessee Hot Brown - a nice variation of the famous Louisville Hot Brown. It has turkey, ham, and bacon over Texas toast covered with melted cheese and House Alfredo sauce. 5 stars. Mom had the Soup and 1/2 Sandwich combo (Reuben) and loved it. 5 stars. Both meals were too much to add dessert at the time so we ordered Key Lime Pie to go. 5 stars. This place is on the historical town square across from the courthouse. I don't live in Columbia so I can't compare to other places in the area, but for a convenient place to bring my dad, sister and a baby for lunch, this was perfect. It was small but not too small that we felt awkward having a baby there. There were high chairs and the option of sitting inside or outside, so this was great to accommodate our group! Service: our server was awesome! Super knowledgeable and helped me order since I was torn between several of the paninis. She was very attentive, friendly and accommodating (should have got her name to give her a shout out!) We ended up with two cups of the chicken queso soup de jour. This was excellent. Per server's rec, I ordered grilled turkey Panini. Very interesting and tasty. It had almonds and chutney which I would never put on a sandwich, but a great combo! And you can't go wrong with thick focaccia bread. I'm glad I tried it but will order the potabello or po boy next time. Sandwiches served with kettle chips and dill pickle. Sister got Club Panini - it was great as well but nothing out of the ordinary. Dad got salmon Panini with the option of white or dark bread. If you like fish and want to feel healthy ordering a sandwich, I recommend this one :) I couldn't help ordering the Jack Daniels chocolate pecan pie. I planned to take it to go but my server convinced me to try it first since she planned to drizzle hot fudge on top and with whipped cream. Needless to say, I didn't utilize my to go box. It wasn't a thick pie with lots of pecan filling, but it was delicious. The rumors are true this cafe was delish. A very charming place that has a very unique menu. Perusing the menu I couldn't figure out what I wanted and bam my eye catches "apple chutney". I continued reading and I had to get the grilled turkey panini. Let me tell you that was the best focaccia bread I've ever had. Light weight and so very delicate and managed this panini very well. Between the apple chutney and then the caramelized onions it gave the sandwich a bit of sweetness but not overwhelming. The basil pesto mayo combined with the Smoked Gouda cheese smothered the juicy turkey and warmed my heart. Hubby raved about the Alfredo sauce on his Tennessee Hot Brown. And who can resist Texas Toast. Their menu is filled with many amazing combinations and some classics and so worth a look at. Can't wait to go back and indulge some more.
