Fun day out with friends with yummy pie! The key lime, coconut crème, and chocolate pies were excellent and just the right amount of sweetness. It was definitely more than 3.14 stars in my book!

I was in Columbia, Tennessee on business and a client recommended that I stop here for an afternoon snack. She assured me that the experience would be life changing. Well, how could anyone pass that up? I headed to Columbia's quaint downtown area and found this pleasant shop and walking in was greeted by a friendly woman behind the counter. After perusing the various options, I elected to try a slice of pie made with peanut butter, a personal weakness. The pie was amazing. This is by no means similar to a pie you buy from a supermarket. This pie is beyond such sugary indulgences. This pie possessed a perfect texture and the quality ingredients shine through and made this beyond a quick snack. It was an indulgence upon my palette, a luxury created by someone obviously passionate about the craft. If you find yourself in the area, seek them out. They also told me they can shop anywhere.

Mississippi Mud Pie, where's the real marshmallow cream!?

Have gotten pies from pie Sensations twice now, and there are three of us in our little family, and we've gotten plenty both times to share between each other. Wasn't a fan of their chocolate chess pie. The pies with fudge pie in it are delicious! Chocolate cream was okay.. I didn't like the blackberry pie for the simple fact that I don't and can't eat the seeds. The strawberry cheesecake is okay. It's whipped but the cream cheese is a bit lacking. Mississippi mud pie is delicious but where is the marshmallow?? There's barely any in it and you can't taste it one bit! The m and m pie is delicious. Especially warmed up. Turtle is good. Their truffles are some of the best I've had in Tennesse. Their dirt pie is...... okay? With the two to three layers of "Oreo crust" within the pie, unfortunately that's all you CAN taste! Which is a shame because you can tell the chocolate and vanilla pudding would probably be amazing if you could actually taste the puddings, but instead all you taste is crushed Oreos without the cream. It would do wonders if they would just keep the Oreo crust strictly on the bottom, where it should be and stay. Also got a peanut butter cupcake, and was pretty disappointed with it. The icing did have an extremely light peanut butter flavor, but mostly I just tasted fatty ness with the tiniest hint of sweetness. The actual cake was a nice chocolate flavor that was somehow moist and yet really dry. How does that even happen?? But the first thing he ordered yesterday for me was the peanut butter pie and I don't have it at all! The very first thing! And the other thing that gets to me is that both times, he never got a receipt. Overall, the pie is good. I don't always like the crust, the typical standard pie crust they have is bland and tasteless. That's kind of sad for me. I wasn't thrilled with the top out crust on the blackberry pie either. Kind of like a crumble that got too moist. I'd say there definitely is a pie for anyone that could possibly rock their world in this little shop! Just like with most places, there are ups and downs that are going to be the same or different for another person. Wish they had been opened when I lived in Columbia, but I reckon that's when they were walking door to door selling their pies.

Quaint little ice cream shop adjoining Pucketts in downtown Columbia, TN…read more Good selection of flavors...of which we only tried a few. So a return visit is in order. I ordered a Turtle Brownie Parfait and my traveling companion chose a Minty Chip Milkshake. Both had "wowie-zowie" flavors, big and bold. Problem with my Parfait was that 3/4 of the dish was brownie, not bad if you're looking for brownie with a small scoop of ice cream. (Yes, their menu says, "Brownie bits, vanilla ice cream, pecans, more brownie bits, salted caramel and hot fudge drizzle, vanilla whipped cream, amarena cherry.") But I thought it might have more ice cream. The vanilla in it was good...just give me more. Minty Chip waas very very minty....so pretty darn good...but we didn't finish it. Definitely worth a stop and taste and enjoy. We plan to do so again.

This was my first time inside this Hattie Jane's location, but I have been to many others before…read more The inside looked clean and bright, with the addition of a vintage soda bar counter display behind the ice cream coolers. The flavors are unique and change seasonly, ranging from Chocolatey Chocolate, Toasted Pineapple, and my favorite-- Nana Puddin'. The flavors and atmosphere were nice, but the service fell short greatly for me. Below are some pros and cons from my visit today. Pros: *The flavor and texture are pretty good at the price. You're getting a good amount of unique ice cream, from locally sourced ingredients. *This location offers samples prior to scooping. I did not get a sample; however, the family in front of us did. The amount seemed like a large sample scoop. *The inside of the creamery has a variety of seating from tables, booths, and bar stool seating. This was nice on such a hot summer day. Cons: *Service was very poor. There was only one worker when me and my two parents came. The young lady was very hostile and it seemed she was trying to get people in and out of her store as quickly as possible-- there was a lack of customer service or hospitality. *My mom asked for a waffle bowl of ice cream with a caramel topping. The worker was very rude and said toppings are only allowed on ice cream in cups, but no type of cone. Maybe this should be posted for customers to know or staff could relay this nicer. *They have a large wall behind the ice cream counter of daily and seasonal flavors. Unfortunately, they were out of many of these today. You can't see the actual case until it's your turn, so it was disappointing to get up to the counter only for the worker to rudely tell you they're out of many of the flavors. Maybe these could be taken down when out of stock since the sign looked magnetic.

In this case the everyone were two of my grandchildren and did they ever go at it! One chose a powdered doughnut as their foundation and the other a glazed. They spent, it seems, like 5 minutes each choosing and directing the pile that was put on top. Both masterpieces in their own right. While they were chomping on these concoctions, my daughter and I were discussing how we would have attacked. First of all, we wouldn't have chosen a wimpy doughnut for the base. We would have gone all in with a Cinnamon roll. Those suckers are the size of plates! What a ground floor. Top it with apples, apple butter and caramel drizzle and you've got a caramel apple cinnamon work of art! Now we're talking. Try it for yourself. After all it's only like a billion calories. Quick Tip: The doughnuts are shaped as triangles. You can always tell yourself that you're teaching the kids trigonometry.

Finally, I made the pilgrimage to the Lewisburg Donut Shop on a weekday morning and found it open! Hallelujah! And indeed, the donuts did not disappoint. The apple fritter is among the best I've had, almost as good as Fox's in Green Hills. But that maple with a soft, yeasty, melt-in-your-mouth dough is astounding!
