We visited this local pie shop downtown Columbia for a mid-day snack on Saturday. The exterior has been recently painted and renovated complete with a new facade color and letters! It looks great! Upon arrival, we spotted a case of about 4-5 different pies. Some were whole pies and others had slices cut out. There was nobody at the counter and there was not really a sign explaining how they sale. A lady sitting at the window behind the kitchen asked "Do you need something? Are you getting a pie?" oddly, and didn't seem eager to help. Once she came around, we each (a family of three), got a single slice of pie and bottled drink. The total was $35. It felt a little steep for the size of pie and quality of service. Since we were out shopping and it was raining outside, it was also disappointing they only had one table inside to eat at-- which was occupied. I feel they could add another table or two near the front window-- or even a counter against the wall with stools. Service could also be better. I got the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup pie. It was a traditional fudge pie with peanut butter drizzle across the top. It tasted very fresh and yummy. The pie crust had a great taste and the peanut butter was a nice addition to the rich and creamy fudge pie. I would return! read more

Realistically, I think it ranks somewhere in between, hence the four stars. At $8.78 per slice. including tax, the quality matches the price considering the cost of ingredients these days. Pie Sensations has quite the reputation in Middle Tennessee. It's located on the southwest corner of the adorable, vibrant square in Columbia, sandwiched between A Balloon Shop and Daniel's Barber Shop. You won't see the sign until you walk right up to the store. Delicious smells of baking pies fill this charming, deceivingly roomy space with a counter in front of the tiny kitchen, a display case, and a few tables. Personally, I'm a pie crust hater as it's often brittle and flavorless. But the crust at Pie Sensations is really good, perfectly flaky and complementary to the pies. I actually at the entire crust which is rare! There are two types of pecan pie in this world. Some prefer the rigid, thicker filling. Others like a gooey, almost liquid interior. While I prefer the thicker version, the very runny pecan pie at Pie Sensations was admittedly tasty, although not my preferred texture. It's properly sweet but not overly done with high quality and very fresh ingredients. The chess pie has that quintessential flavor of a southern classic, maybe not sweet enough for my taste but delicately balanced flavor for all palates. Their top seller, the chocolate turtle pie, was a bit too chocolatey for my personal preference. But again, the quality is obvious with a thick chocolate filling topped with caramel and pecans. While I wouldn't drive the hour from Nashville to Columbia again just to eat a slice of pie at Pie Sensations - unlike other remarkable destinations to which I'll eagerly drive three or four hours - I would encourage anyone near Columbia to sample this delicious and expertly made product! If you're in the area, it's a nice stop for dessert. read more

Well, how could anyone pass that up? I headed to Columbia's quaint downtown area and found this pleasant shop and walking in was greeted by a friendly woman behind the counter. After perusing the various options, I elected to try a slice of pie made with peanut butter, a personal weakness. The pie was amazing. This is by no means similar to a pie you buy from a supermarket. This pie is beyond such sugary indulgences. This pie possessed a perfect texture and the quality ingredients shine through and made this beyond a quick snack. It was an indulgence upon my palette, a luxury created by someone obviously passionate about the craft. If you find yourself in the area, seek them out. It really is the best pie ever. So good that I ordered wayyyy too many different types to sample. I definitely recommend buying slices rather than the mini pies: the full size pies are better. The coconut cream pie made me want to cry it was so good, but my favorite was the pumpkin caramel pie. You really can't go wrong though! read more

This place started off in a coat closet and now they are downtown! Really good pie. I never had strawberry rhubarb pie before them. As soon as I had it my life changed for the better. I got a promotion at work, I found an oil reserve in my backyard, and my dog came back to me. Also their customer service is really good. read more

Have gotten pies from pie Sensations twice now, and there are three of us in our little family, and we've gotten plenty both times to share between each other. Wasn't a fan of their chocolate chess pie. The pies with fudge pie in it are delicious! Chocolate cream was okay.. I didn't like the blackberry pie for the simple fact that I don't and can't eat the seeds. The strawberry cheesecake is okay. It's whipped but the cream cheese is a bit lacking. Mississippi mud pie is delicious but where is the marshmallow?? There's barely any in it and you can't taste it one bit! The m and m pie is delicious. Especially warmed up. Turtle is good. Their truffles are some of the best I've had in Tennesse. Their dirt pie is...... okay? With the two to three layers of "Oreo crust" within the pie, unfortunately that's all you CAN taste! Which is a shame because you can tell the chocolate and vanilla pudding would probably be amazing if you could actually taste the puddings, but instead all you taste is crushed Oreos without the cream. It would do wonders if they would just keep the Oreo crust strictly on the bottom, where it should be and stay. Also got a peanut butter cupcake, and was pretty disappointed with it. The icing did have an extremely light peanut butter flavor, but mostly I just tasted fatty ness with the tiniest hint of sweetness. The actual cake was a nice chocolate flavor that was somehow moist and yet really dry. How does that even happen?? But the first thing he ordered yesterday for me was the peanut butter pie and I don't have it at all! The very first thing! And the other thing that gets to me is that both times, he never got a receipt. Overall, the pie is good. I don't always like the crust, the typical standard pie crust they have is bland and tasteless. That's kind of sad for me. I wasn't thrilled with the top out crust on the blackberry pie either. Kind of like a crumble that got too moist. I'd say there definitely is a pie for anyone that could possibly rock their world in this little shop! Just like with most places, there are ups and downs that are going to be the same or different for another person. We got a piece of apple and a piece of coconut cream, and it was $14, which could have bought an entire pie- I understand if it was high quality pie, but this was like grocery store bakery pie, bad crust, lacked flavor. Cute little shop just off the square in Columbia tucked into a corner. They have really great fresh made pies. I love berry pies, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry etc. I've tried every fruit pie they have made or that I'm aware of. All were scrumptious. Bought a bourbon chocolate pecan pie as a gift and high marks all around from the hostess. Tried slices of the turtle pie and honey hush pie and both were as good as it gets.
