We were in town from Huntsville to visit the James Polk Home and Museum, and we were lucky to choose Prime & Pint for a late lunch. The whole experience was delightful!! Our server, James G, was fantastic. Such a warm and engaging person. The atmosphere is classy without being pretentious. The food was amazing--highly recommend the burrata, the BBQ pork sandwich plate[ a 'daily special', may not always be available], the truffle fries, truffle mac and the absolutely divine multi-layer Chocolate cake. James was a great mixologist, and I tried both the Hibiscus Sour and the Dreamsicle. Both were great, but my fave was the Hibiscus Sour. There is also a butcher shop at the front and the very sweet expert helped us to pick out a A5 Wagyu steak that we're really looking forward to trying. Lunch: we went to prime and pint for lunch on a whim one day. We were the only ones in the place as it had just opened. We ordered the burrata to start and it was absolutely incredible. 10/10. Next I ordered the cheeseburger. It was cooked to perfection! I'm more of a traditional pickle girl so I could have done without the bread and butter but overall this was a 5 star experience! Unfortunately.... Dinner: fast forward several weeks to coming here on a weeknight for a family birthday dinner. There were 7 adults and 3 kids so not outrageous in numbers. While the food was still good, 3/5 steaks were overcooked after waiting 1.5 hours for our food. I'd like to note that Adam, our waiter, was absolutely fantastic. He was so sweet with my 4 year old that loves to order himself and even brought him a roll when he asked if they had bread! He is the reason I'll give this place one more try as a tiebreaker because tonight, the kitchen just failed. I'll add in, this seems like a great place for a date night. Do not bring your children here. The wait time for any food coupled with not having a changing table in the bathroom tells me this is not a kid friendly place. However, I like to review all sorts of businesses no matter what level they are on so decided to repost and not let them intimidate me. I feel everyone's opinion matters. So, I will post that my husband and I had taken a friend here to Prime and Pint for her late husbands birthday remembrance dinner, we wanted to take her to a special dinner. She ordered the prime rib and she thought it was good. But both my husband and I were not impressed with our meals and felt the prices were way too high. The bone marrow was seasoned well but the size was really small compared to other restaurant that served the same thing in the same price range. Crab cake was interesting. I got spoiled with Maryland crab cakes for over 10 years and my standards are really high when it comes to crab cakes critique. I will skip on reviewing this dish just to be fair :) My husband ordered Chicken Cordon Bleu and collard greens for the table. I got grilled pork chop. Chicken Cordon Bleu was delicious. Collard greens was okay. My pork chop was overcooked and a bit dry. Our waitress informed me that it is a thick cut pork chop and it will be pink on the inside which it is supposed to be pink for a perfectly cooked pork chop. She said a lot of customers send it back claiming that it was undercooked. Oy vey! I got it overcooked tonight. Thanks to all the people who freaked out over myoglobin! We were not in the mood for steak tonight but we will come back for it next time. I saw the table next to us ordered ribeye and it looked perfectly medium rare. I am excited for the next visit now. What a GEM! The vibes in this place give off upscale but as soon as you sit down it feels like your favorite local bar. The food was exceptional. First of all, we LOVE Prime and Pint, go there regularly for dinner, and always have a perfect time. But we went for lunch, (first time), and were very disappointed. The appetizer, the burrata, was amazing, as always, but both entrees were pretty disappointing. My Reuben was just plain BAD. Granted, I spent some time in the North East and even in a cheap diner you would get a beautiful sandwich- piled with layers of thin sliced corn beef. This sandwich was a thin, fatty slice of brisket, not at all tender. First two bites were fat and the 3rd was gristle. I gave up. The service was phenomenal, and we will still consider this the best place for dinner in the area, but until there are a few more choices on the lunch menu (where was the Shrimp and Grits?? Absolutely loved this restaurant for a Friday date night. We were thankful to get a table as we didn't have a reservation. The hostess was extremely personable and bubbly, setting the tone for our entire evening. Our server, Adam, continued the theme. The prime burger with havarti was delicious and the fries crispy. Burger cooked perfectly and the fries cooked in beef tallow were absolutely yummy. The drinks are the best in the area. Kudos to the bartenders. Kudos to Chef Baxter! He did an amazing job taking care of my party of 34 for dinner. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. My guests arrived and ordered drinks from the bar and talked for a bit and then we proceeded to sit down for dinner about 30 minutes later. We sat at the back of the restaurant which was perfect as they had two rows of tables for our group set up. Filet or chicken entrees were served with family style collard greens, mac n cheese, and smoked squash. I'm not a fan of collard greens but these made me a fan. The smoked squash was sliced and still in the skin and we scooped out what we wanted. Never seen it served that way but it was genius. The smokey flavor was superb. Mac n cheese always a hit. No complaints on the filets, mine was cooked to my liking and was served with oven roasted potatoes. I had a taste of the chicken and it was full of flavor and moist. To get all the entrees out at once shows the kitchen was a well oiled machine and cooking in stride. For dessert we had cheese cake which even though I was stuffed from dinner I managed to eat it all. Joined the clean plate club for sure! I was there in late February on a weekend night - had the "catch of the day" $38 which was mahi mahi described as pan seared with a beurre blanc sauce. First for $38 you get nothing but the fish it came to me with a sear so hot you couldn't cut the fish it had absolutely no flavor - I spoke to the front of house floor manager and he said the fish is "lightly salted" WHAT! Culinary School 101 Season your food!. My first thought was they ate between executive chefs - while they remade the dish - I still had to add salt pepper and red pepper flakes to make it edible.I had the fish half a wedge salad and a glass of wine my bill was close to $70!! Wonderful food, service, and vibe! For my wife's birthday, I wanted to take her somewhere fun that we hadn't been before and this was an absolute hit! Our server Thomas, was attentive, funny, and took great care of us. My wife even commented on how great the pacing of the meal was considering we ordered our appetizers and entrees at the same time. It takes some skill for a server and a kitchen to nail that and we really noticed.
