THE WORST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER RECEIVED. Didn't get what I asked for, and it's not anything I'd ever want. Even if I'd asked for this style or wanted something along this style, the way it's cut makes no sense. TERRIBLE HAIRCUT. I would never consider cutting my own hair, but I could have cut my own hair better than this. That is just how horrible it is. JUST AWFUL. It's uneven and choppy. Looks like someone tried to cut a clump of gum out of my hair that got stuck in it. One side doesn't match the other. I WILL NEVER GO TO SQUIRE AGAIN. Either the clippers weren't up to par, or the guy just didn't know how to use clippers. There are hairs that are different lengths where he used the clippers. JUST SLOPPY. I went to Squire because of the amazing ratings and great reviews they had online. Just goes to show you can't trust that. You couldn't pay me to go back there and let them attempt to cut my hair again. They could cut my hair at no charge forever and I still wouldn't return. This will take me 3 to 4 months to grow out and fix my hair, and will cost me addition funds for cuts elsewhere to maintain some kind of a decent appearance. Thank you for being so thoughtful Squire. Please take a moment to reread the boutique comments I had made again. I take my girlfriend shopping sometimes and buy her things. I don't wear dresses, I never said I tried dresses on. As a guy, I can totally say if a girl is nice or not. I can admire women in dresses say they look good in those dresses. So, I'd suggest you not assume things and jump to conclusions. Some people might get offended. About being nice... I'm sorry if my review is so "hateful"; however, I wouldn't be angry if my haircut was done well. I would have preferred to pay your shop more than I did for a haircut I could wear with pride, rather than pay nothing for what I received. When I received this haircut, I was not listened to nor respected. If that were the case, my haircut would be different and we wouldn't be messaging right now. The pictures you posted look good. None of them are styles I'd want though. What I ended up getting seems to be an attempt of what you've posted. Unfortunately, it doesn't look good. I write this review as David Squire, THE Pike Place Barber, now finds himself moving to a new location. So about that - He's moving 2.5 blocks away to 112 Stewart Street. He should be open around Sept 13. WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT: David Squire is the best barber I've ever been to. I've been to many. I even had a few moments in my life where I went to Stylists. (Short lived moments of goo in my hair...) David knows what he's doing. He's not afraid to ask, "You really want that look?" or say "I think something like X or Y would really be more natural for you." He's also the ONLY person other than myself who gets to touch my beard with metal. I say all of this because he's a perfectionist. He uses his Obsessive Compulsion for Perfection on behalf of YOU and YOUR HAIR! He'll take time to track down every little hair that's not obeying, yet, and snip, buzz, or coax it into submission. David does buzz cuts. David does longer men's styles that require scissors and nothing but. David does facial hair, and can give you good advice on what looks GOOD on your face, whether you're a sales guy or a lawyer or a trucker driving bartender in college. David is also friendly, chatty (or not, if you're not), and willing to stay late for a guy who clearly needs his professional help. It's no wonder he's often booked a whole day or more in advance, just from call-in's asking when the next opening is! Good news though: The new business called Squire Barber Shop will have another barber chair and another barber, as soon as David finds someone who can do what he does just as good: A perfect men's hair style, delivered in a comfortable atmosphere, without crazy goo and glitter and colors and disco music. Excellent experience! I wish I'd known about Squire when I moved to Seattle 2.5 years ago! I've been to barber shops and salons from Edmonds to Tacoma, and Renton to Bremerton and never received a haircut I was thrilled with. That changed today when I got my hair cut at Squire today by Andrew. I have very fine hair, that's sort of thin and beginning to recede, basically it's hard to make look good, but Andrew suggested a few options and the end result looks great. Besides, they're ridiculously cheap for the results you get, $24 for a great cut? I was paying $60-80 before the tip at other places and walking out butchered. My only regret is that I discovered Squire so late as I'm moving out of the area in nine months. As of right now I've gone to Squire Barber around four times and have gotten my hair cut every time by David, the owner. He's able to cut it exactly how I ask or if I've brought in photos he's able to replicate the idea I'm going for. Location is great, atmosphere is hip, and overall the place puts off a vibe I like. I've searched for barbers in the past and have jumped from place to place but this is now my go to. I recommend making an appointment as I've seen people come in trying to get a cut on the fly and not being accommodated due to bookings. I've only had David cut my hair but looking at the work of the other barbers there they all seem to do great work. read more

I have been searching for a barber shop, mostly for my beard, for over a year. Today was the day I found my barber shop! Myles and Squire Barber Shop were exactly what I have been searching for in a shop. Myles asked me several questions about my beard and the style I was going for, He let me set the pace for chatting which is important to me, I don't chat much in the chair because I am zoned out. The other guys in the shop were just as talented from what I was seeing going out the door, I got there early. Found out about Squire BarberShop through Instagram. Had my first haircut + beard trim there yesterday with Eric and it couldn't have gone better. Eric listened to exactly what I told him I wanted, gave his opinion on what he thought would look best and gave me, easily the best cut I've ever had. For a very reasonable amount too. I went to Squire Barber Shop out of desperation due to a HORRIBLE cut that I received at another local shop a day before (began with a R and ended with an UDY's). Anyway, Bryan took me almost right away (even though I didn't have an appointment) and did a fantastic job saving my hair. Bryan is an extremely nice individual who clearly takes pride in his craft. My hair can difficult to cut due to the multiple cow-licks but he did a great job with the cut. Bryan is an EXCELLENT barber, and I highly recommend him. read more

Brian is very meticulous in his cutting and takes his time to ensure that you get the best haircut he can give you. Both David and Brian are superb barbers, as well as friendly and the whole place has a nice environment. I've been having my hair cut here by David since 2011 and have never been disappointed. We've been adapting my style over time, and David has always done an incredible job. The atmosphere, especially in the new shop, is great. The barbers are fun, the music is good, and the conversations are entertaining. Squire Barber shop is the spot to get a fresh cut in true Seattle fashion. Prices are affordable. The staff is friendly and place is modern and clean. It seems to me that people here know how to cut hair and they're experienced in dealing with different types of hair; for example, I have fairly thick hair, so it usually needs to be handled a bit differently. Just stopped in for the first time. I had an appointment with Myles for a beard trim. Being recently retired from the military I let my hair and beard go and it was time to do something about it and very glad I found this spot.
