Surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet, but it's easily my favorite place to grab a Korean-style corn dog. I like it for the convenience. Every time I come to this Hmart I have the option of grabbing one. Thankfully I don't come that often (although you'd never know it lol). The wait is usually about 6 minutes or so. I think there is a card minimum purchase amount so I usually end up getting two things. I wasn't big on the fries before, maybe they weren't salted? I forget as it has been awhile since I've tried those. However, the dogs are always so yummy! My favorite is the pure cheese one, but I enjoy the half regular sausage/half mozz one as well. Delicious with sugar or by itself. If you haven't tried these delectable goodies yet, you're missing out! This vendor is located inside the Super H-Mart...and I actually snubbed it in the past, thinking it's probably not as good as the ones I've tried elsewhere. Well, well...my snobbery was foolery. These Korean corn dogs don't look as attractive as the ones I've had at Oh K-Dog, or Jongro in Koreatown, NYC (my fave so far), but Ssong's are legit! Meaning, these are HUGE, jumbo-sized corn dogs made with rice flour...and the flavors are solid, and so is the luscious cheese pull (on the Potato Mozzarella)! Like most/all chains, you can top the corn dogs with Sugar Powder...and think they had 5 different sauces to use freely. BTW, like many Korean corn dog chains, Ssong's is also a legit chain making its way around America. Living in the South, I've only tried 3 brands by now...and am itching to try the Two Hands brand! Fingers crossed that they'll make their way down South...at the very least to Koreatown in Duluth! Actually, I wasn't even hungry when I tried these...so unable to finish these big Monster dogs...but I am happy to say that they tasted DEE-Lish! Small booth inside Duluth Hmart, all the way on the left side of the store when you walk in, the complete opposite end of the food court (right across from where all the rice cakes are and next to the side dish area). I know half the people don't even make it to that end of the store, but it's worth the visit! I absolutely love that they have the half-sausage and half-mozzarella option and also love that the cheese and the sausage are mixed in well, not like other places where they give you 4/5 cheese at the top and 1/5 sausage at the bottom. You get cheese-sausage-cheese-sausage and so on.. The sugar also adds a nice touch to both the original mozzarella and the potato, so I definitely recommend (unless you're a complete savory person). The twist fries were also delicious! Very crunchy and fun to eat like all twist fries. Misugaru smoothie was great as well! Not too sweet and very refreshing. Service was great as well. The guy at the front of the booth was very friendly and explained different types of hot dogs they had. He also let me try a sample of the misugaru to make sure I liked it before I choose to buy it. I waited about 5-7 min for my order, but I went during early dinner. Do expect a longer time at peak times. read more

Ssong's Hot Dog is located inside H-Mart. When you walk in, it's in the left side of the store. It's not on the right side with the rest of the food stalls. It's on the left side where all the pre-made foods are sold. They have a small stand there. Ssong's Hot Dogs sells Korean corn dogs and drinks. You order 1 dog at a time. They have Ssong's Premium, Mozzarella Cheese Stick, Mozz Sausage Stick, Spicy versions of those, and other sticks that are not sausage based like Fish Cake Sticks. The corn dogs are made to order. They fry it fresh right when you order. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the food to get ready. After they fry them up, you have an option to roll them in powdered sugar. I didn't mind the sugar. It gave the savory dogs another depth of flavor with the sweetness. These corn dogs are pretty good. They're probably the best I've tasted. The outer layer with the batter come out super crispy and flavorful. They nailed the batter with the texture and flavor. I don't know how they do it. The dogs are big. A hungry guy can eat 2 comfortably. For light eaters, 1 is probably enough. I would get a variety so you can try everything. I'm usually not a fan of cheese, but the cheese version is surprisingly good. read more

Located inside of H Mart but opposite side of the food court. Stumbled across this place as we were walking the store. Walked right up to order and waited about 15 minutes given the amount of orders they had. They make all orders fresh. We got the potato mozzarella sausage hot dog. Served in a cute box and the box even had a slit to keep the dog in place! They do have some sauces available on the counter that you can add to your dog however we didn't try. The dog is nice and crispy! Taste is very good but I'd say that it needs salt and maybe that's on purpose given there are sauces available but if you want to eat plain I think that salt would help with the overall flavor kick. Overall good and next time I want to try the mozzarella stick. read more

Leave it to H-Mart to ensure they get the goods. MyungRang Hot Dog left so abruptly, it sort of left many of us who loved what they offered with a bit of lack. People are discovering the amazing street food snack that is Korean Hot Dogs. Which if you don't know offer more than the dogs. There's everything from cheddar wrapped dogs, pure mozzarella dogs, premium beef frank dogs, and even embedded potato cubes as part of the batter. It's pretty much the creme de la creme of the corn dog market locally. Recently discovered this place while obviously shopping for Korean food. I knew I had to try it since the only one that did this well, made a swift exit. Ssong's on principle is just like the others. Korean style corn dogs without the corn bread batter. The batter is rice flour. What I can say though, w/ the mozza dog, the cheese pull is fantastic. The regular Ssong hot dog is lacking as the batter overshadows the frank so it might be better to drop the extra dollar for the premium. All in all, this fits so well and is a fantastic go to if you're in the area of if the competition becomes crowded because there is competition coming in the form Oh-Kay Dog. read more

This new Korean hot dog stand just opened up a few days ago. I was sad when the other hot dog place here closed down during the pandemic, but so glad to see another Korean hot dog place open up in H mart duluth! I ordered 2 half mozzarella and half hotdogs as well as a misutgaru (korean sweet grain) slushie. This is by far the best half mozzy half hotdog I've had. Instead of just mozzarella on the top half and hotdog on the bottom half, this place does mozzarella, hotdog, mozzarella, hotdog, so you get that cheesy goodness in every bite. They will ask you if you want sugar on your hotdog when it's ready. I personally dont prefer the sugar, but to each their own. The misutgaru slushie was super sweet, but other than that it was pretty good. They provide sauces in little to-go containers as well. Can't wait to go back! Keep in mind that your order can take 10-15min depending on how busy it is. You can order your food, look around and continue shopping, and go back to check if your order is ready a few min before - said wait time. Hope this place does well! read more

Located inside of hmart Duluth. The stall is pretty small right next to all the kimchi and prep food. They have varieties of dog's; including the cheese, sausage or the classic hot dog. I do highly recommend this place but be aware of their drink size. They currently only carry one size cup and it's super small. All their drinks are good but for $3 the cup was tiny. Alright, I was extremely disappointed today. The way they use the box and the holder is a great idea which holds the hot dogs (corn dogs) in place. The taste was exceptional, the crispiness was exceptional, the cheese pull was exceptionally good; however, I couldn't give it a better rating than a 2. Why? As soon as I went to take the dogs out of the box from its holder the stick came straight off the hot dogs. Now here I am which I have never done in my life holding a corn dog with my hands. My hands were greasy messy, and I have sugar plastered all on my fingers. Don't get me wrong it was finger licking good but that's the point of eating a corn dog not to have anything stuck on our hands and fingers. These corn dogs are amazing. Not as in love with this franchise as I am with the OK Dog franchise at the Doraville Hmart, but still amazing! One thing I did think was great was the way they packaged the corn dogs to go. Top notch. The box protects the sides and top of the corn dog so you can put sauce on it while getting it to go without worrying about it tolling out and messing everything up. read more

Love this place! Been coming since they opened and finally got a chance to write a review. This place is a much welcomed spot for the korean corn dog. Located in the back of Super H Mart near the banchan. For the old heads, it is in the same spot that sold the korean fried chicken many moons ago. What I love about this place is the sausage selection. You chose the regular one or the spicy one. The spicy one has a yummy peppery taste that I enjoy. It's not hot on the scoville scale, but the flavor is delicious. I also appreciate the way that the corn dog is assembled when you opt for the half and half dog. Normally at other places I've been to, you have the cheese section first then the sausage section. This leaves me sad because I've eaten all my darn cheese in one go. Here they alternate with cheese, sausage,cheese, and ending with sausage. When I first tried it, I thought I got jipped with my cheese, but I was pleasantly surprised (and my sister was relieved) when I got to the cheese section again. Last, but not least the batter texture has the right amount of crunch on the outside and chewiness on the inside. I have been to other places where the crunch was there, but not the chewiness. It tasted more like the coating on an American corn dog, but not here. Don't forget the sauces and adding sugar or not. I'm not a fan of the sugar coating, but my sister loves it. As for the tteokbokkii, I'm not a fan of the rice cake themselves. The texture of these are just not my bag, but then again I do come when they first open so I'll have to try them later on in the day. I say don't walk by, just give them a try! read more
